At the age of seven, Elle Lowe was deserted at a foster home by her mother who struggled from a mental illness. Despite growing up in the foster care system and her battle with self-destructive habits in her teenage years, she was determined to make it in the fashion industry. Now, at the age of twenty-five she is the CEO of one of the fastest growing fashion showrooms in New York City.
When Elle has a meeting with Smith Hudson, the owner of the Steel Building in which her fashion showroom is located, she finds herself oddly attracted to a man who is the opposite of all the men she has dated. When Elle finds out about Smith’s preference in Dominant/Submissive relationships she is unsure of whether she can put herself into the role he would like her to play due to her dark past. Though haunted by her series of abandoned relationships, Elle decides to agree to his proposition despite the fact that he is more than capable of breaking her heart.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book...I can't pinpoint what I was expecting, but I can tell you that I really enjoyed the characters and how the story progressed!
