SOME ORIGINAL INTERPRETATIONS OF UFOS THROUGH THE BIBLE
Charles (‘Chuck ‘) Missler (1934-2018) and coauthor Mark Eastman wrote in the first chapter of this 1997 book, “for more than five decades government and civilian researchers have attempted to unravel the mystery of the UFOs. Yet, there is nothing close to a consensus among those who have seriously examined the nature and history of the phenomenon. To the skeptics the phenomenon is a product of mass mystery or a shared visual hallucination … To others the UFO phenomenon is the harbinger of a New Age of spiritual awakening and evolution accomplished with the assistance of our highly advanced space brothers. Still others believe the UFO phenomenon represents the return of god’s angels… who today are returning to herald the dawning of a new millennium and the arrival of the age of Apocalypse.
“If these things are real, we believe that fact will head to the biggest challenge ever faced by mankind. If these things are not real, they bear evidence of a gigantic delusion---one that is being orchestrated with a political end in sight…. There is increasing evidence that what lies behind these strange events will soon affect every living person on this planet. Who are these extraterrestrials?... What is their agenda? Whatever the case, one thing is clear: the appearance of unidentified flying objects is an ancient phenomenon which has perplexed---even harassed---mankind from the beginning of written history.” (Pg. 31-32)
They note, “While the evidence examined in this chapter seems to confirm the antiquity of unusual aerial phenomenon and visitations by humanoid entities, their origin remains a topic of great controversy, even among experienced UFO investigators. The common view is that they are extraterrestrial visitors from another star system. However, the extraterrestrial hypothesis (ETH) has been seriously challenged in recent years by a number of prominent UFO researchers. Well-documented accounts of UFOs that change shape, dematerialize, and defy the laws of physics have challenged the extraterrestrial hypothesis and caused many researchers to speculate that UFOs and their occupants may not be extraterrestrial, but extradimensional beings from beyond the four dimensions of our space-time domain!” (Pg. 52)
They admit “What really occurred at Roswell remains a mystery. The predictable prejudice against and extraterrestrial incident, along with the fear of ridicule, has been further compounded by frauds, disinformation, and hoaxes... Wading through the countless documentaries, interviews, etc., and allowing for emotions, exploitations, disinformation---much of it deliberate by the U.S. Government---one can clearly conclude there was, indeed, a cover-up of some kind. But why?” (Pg. 58)
They note, “The evidence… seems to confirm that UFOs are physical objects. However, additional data suggests that under certain circumstances this may not be the case. For example, UFOs have been tracked on radar traveling at over 25,00 miles per hour within our atmosphere. Yet, unlike physical objects, they do not cause sonic booms and they do not burn up. They have been known to make right-angle turns at over 15,000 miles per hour, something no physical object could endure. And despite visual confirmation, UFOs often fail to show up on photographic film or radar devices.” (Pg. 67)
They summarize, “Despite the many spurious or doubtful reports, hoaxes, disinformation, etc., there are too many competent, professionally trained observers on record to dismiss… There is increasing evidence that there ARE sentient beings interacting with our space-time and that they DO have an agenda! We appear to be the subjects of a major cosmic deception.” (Pg. 96)
They acknowledge, “We take a very skeptical view on the question of alien abductions. Despite population surveys which indicate that as many as 1-3 percent of the population may have had an abduction experience, the hard evidence for such accounts is lacking. Nevertheless, we do believe that to appreciate the nature of the UFO phenomenon, an examination of the history and nature of these alleged abductions is very important.” (Pg. 100-101)
They note, “Insertion of ‘alien implants’ within the body of the abductees is frequently alleged… However, detailed analyses of alleged alien implants, which have been surgically removed, have failed to prove an alien origin of the materials found within the implants.” (Pg. 107)
They state, “there appear to be exceptions in which ostensible Christians have been abducted, such as in the Andreasson Affair. However, it also appears that in these cases an invitation was ACCEPTED by the abductee… Abductee surveys have revealed that the overwhelming majority of abductees have shown an interest in paranormal activities, Eastern religions, and New Age world-view. A large percentage of abductees have also reported a history of involvement with Ouija boards, astrology, witchcraft, astral project… and the like. Still others simply agreed to go along with their abductors with approached.” (Pg. 109)
They record, “skeptics point out that the lack of independent witnesses to alleged abduction events is a major deficiency of the abduction phenomenon. Considering the dramatic descriptions of alien craft nearby, abductees being floated out of windows, passed through walls, etc., skeptics argue that one would expect many of these encounters to have been witnessed by neighbors or passers by.” (Pg. 114)
They say of the Nephilim in Genesis 6:1-4, “This strange passage describes the bizarre circumstances that led to the cataclysmic disaster of the famous Flood of Noah… The Biblical passage refers to SUPERNATURAL BEINGS intruding upon the planet Earth… The ‘daughters of men’ … refers to the natural female descendants of mankind… The errant supernatural ‘alien’ beings apparently mated with human women and produced unnatural, SUPERHUMAN offspring!... Apparently these unnatural offspring, the Nephilim were monstrous and they have been memorialized in the legends and myths of every ancient culture on the planet Earth.” (Pg. 205-206)
They continue, “The Nephilim, the unnatural offspring, are not eligible for resurrection. The bodies of the Nephilim, of course, were drowned in the Flood. What happened to their spirits? Could they be the demons of the New Testament? These may well have continued through the ‘daemones incubi’ of the Middle Ages and may be recurring through the UFOs of today.” (Pg. 213) Later, they add, “In the Bible we never read of demons prior to the Flood… the fathers of the Nephilim are the Watchers, a specific group of angels (of the ‘sons of God’) who lusted after the daughters of men and took then as wives (Gen 6:1-5). After the Nephilim died, it seems they became demons who led astray, harassed, oppressed, corrupted, contended with, and bruised those upon earth.” (Pg. 242) They also add, “If the ancient translators’ understanding of the Hebrew text of Isaiah is correct, then it seems to follow that the Nephilim will be returning in the last days of planet Earth and the city of Babylon will become the habitation of ‘monsters, devils and satyrs!’” (Pg. 283)
They argue, “the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is our ‘kinsman redeemer.’ Unless these aliens are our kinsmen (i.e., fully human beings), then the substitutionary, sacrificial, atoning death of Jjesus Christ on the cross is not (as far as we know) efficacious in blotting out the sin of aliens. Some New Age authors suggest that Jesus died many times on many different planets for the sins of God’s alien ‘children.’ However, the Bible states that Jesus died once and rose only once from the dead.” (Pg. 238)
They suggest, “There are some that view Jesus as a kind of ‘Super Angel’ or hyperdimensional ‘Extraterrestrial.’ Clearly, he did demonstrate many hyperdimensional capabilities. His ability to materialize and dematerialize, while yet being tangible, within a closed room, indicates that he possessed a dimensionality which is independent of the limitations of our three-dimensional spatial ‘reality.’ His ability to foretell the future indicates his nature is independent of our time domain… Because Jesus possesses additional dimensions (or their equivalent) or spatial reality, he is able to be at all places simultaneously.” (Pg. 308-309)
Missler argues about the MJ-12 documents, “What better way to mask the existence of ‘MJ-12’ than to reveal some imperfect documents or other deliberately flawed evidence to the UFO community, and when diligent inspection ultimately reveals their fraudulent character, the existence of the subject enterprise becomes an ‘urban legend’ and is summarily dismissed in any subsequent discussions! From Stanton Friedman’s persistent diligence, and from some other experiences that will go without mention, I personally suspect that ‘MJ-12’---and any successor organization---is, in fact, real. Furthermore, I can easily imagine… that this kind of entity could grow in power and burrow ever deeper into the federal administrative quagmires that would preclude any real accountability.” (Pg. 338)
This book will be of keen interest to Evangelical Christians studying UFOs, aliens, and possible biblical references to them.
