A Taboo Love #1

Hey There, Delilah

Rate this book
Hi, my name is Delilah Sampson, and I am a self proclaimed “frump girl.” My world came crashing down the day I walked in on my boyfriend having sex with my boss, rendering me single and jobless. A new job fell into my lap as the secretary of the gorgeous, rich, powerful, and mighty cocky controlling partner at Santino Law Firm. I spend my days trying to please a demanding boss, keeping my lustful thoughts to myself. Until one night, when my best friend drags me to a club, and I fall for a man whose true identity I will never know.

See, at Club Masquerade, everyone wears a mask and a nametag with a fake name. Also, on your nametag is a number that you are assigned when you come into the club, which is linked to an in-house messaging system; no one is permitted to speak, which ensures that identities are kept secret. I meet my lover every Saturday at 9 pm sharp. We text and email constantly when we are not together, and I have somehow fallen in love with him.

But, then there is Nick Santino. He is the partner that I can’t keep my eyes off. Unfortunately, the only reason he hired me is because he is not attracted to me and all my frump glory. Fortunately, for me, I am a kick ass secretary, so he keeps me around. Like many men in his position, Nick is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it; all without commitment, of course.

So when he finds a woman that he is both physically and emotionally attracted to, he finds himself in unchartered territory – love. And I can do nothing but be jealous from the sidelines – lusting for a man I can’t have, and loving a man I can’t know.

Hey there, Delilah is book 1 of the Taboo Love series, in which we tackle the boss/secretary relationship. Each book will be a stand alone with a HEA, but will have a few reoccurring characters.

Hi! My name is M.D. Saperstein. I am currently a stay at home mom with my two gorgeous kids. I wasn't always a full time mom, though. After graduating from the University of Florida - Go Gators! - I attended law school at Stetson University. I spent the next 10 years practicing law. I also spent some time counseling mental health patients in an out patient psychiatric hospital. But, until having my own children, my most rewarding job by far was licensing families to receive abused and neglected foster children.

So, that brings us to today. In my spare time, while my children were napping, I started editing novels for other authors. The more I edited, the more ready I felt to write my own. I just needed a new and exciting story line. Once Hey There, Delilah was conceived, the ball starting rolling very quickly. I hooked up with fellow author Andria Large, and we decided to tackle it together. Best decision ever!

I spend most of my free time with my husband and children. But when I get some "me" time, I love to read. Mostly romance and erotica, but I don't discriminate - a good book is a good book, no matter the genre.

Cover changed detected. Slightly better than its predecessor.

5 'sweetness and humorous' stars

This is another classic 'never judge a book by its cover' line. Seriously, the author need to get rid of that awful cover. I rather she just put a white backdrop with black title. Awful cover aside, this book is full of humorous laugh out loud moment that I nearly peed my pants and roll on the ground. I never had such a good laugh since reading the epic 'Tangled' by Emma Chase. Nick Santino inner monologue is nearly on par with Drew Evans. Maybe not really there yet, but definitely close.

description

Initially the book started of feeling like a 3 stars read because the writing was pretty mediocre and mostly fluff, but half way through I had such a great time laughing my ass out, I bumping it up to 4 stars. Past second half though, Nick turns into a totally adorable, sweet and swoony guy, I'm sold. 5 stars for Nick Santino!

Delilah Sampson is single and jobless after finding out her boyfriend banging her boss during lunch hour. She is a frumpy girl who doesn't dress up, easy-going, a dedicated employee and had a tough backbone. I absolutely love the way she dump her douche of a boyfriend within minutes flat.

Nick Santino is a lawyer who is looking for a new secretary. He wants to hire a secretary that is capable and smart and someone that he wouldn't end up banging. He reminds me so much of Daniel Meade from Ugly Betty. He ended up hiring Delilah for the specific reason that she doesn't look attractive at all. Surprisingly, Delilah turns out to be the best secretary he ever had. She is on time, organized, hardworking and etc.

All that, and I still don't want to fuck her - I have found my perfect work wife.

description

In the beginning, Nick was painted as an absolutely manwhore. But we didn't get to see that side of him. I thought he is the best hot boss that I ever dream of having. He is so nice and respectful to Delilah and really appreciate her. Before long, he is subconsciously attracted to her overall personality.

She's not supposed to look good. She's supposed to be frumpy and unattractive! That's why I hired her, so that she wouldn't tempt me.

Meanwhile, Delilah was thrilled to have such a fine ass of a boss for her to ogle everyday. Although she is having some wet dreams of him, she knew she can never land herself such a fine specimen. The best part with this dual POV is that we can see both Nick and Delilah is obviously attracted to each other and trying their damnest to be professional.

"Did you just sniff me?"
"I wouldn't exactly classify it as 'sniffing' you. I happened to take a breath when you leaned past me."

"There is no way I am eating a fucking salad when this pizza is in front of me smelling better than a hooker after a shower."

Nick pretty much drives the whole story and all his POV is freaking hilarious. He keep convincing himself that he is a bad guy and he absolutely will not care for another, yet his action said otherwise. I expected to see him do something douchey, but he completely baffle me with his awkwardness of trying to be a nice guy to Delilah.

Note to self: from now on, book your own hotel rooms for doing the nasty.

I'm thinking about getting a nice juicy steak, needing something manly to eat since I've been having all these sappy emotions lately.

The whole Club Masquerade debacle was pretty far-fetch, but I'm glad it didn't drag on too long. The rules of the club is: keep your mask on and no talking, even during fucking. So in order to get his mind off Delilah, Nico aka Nick scout the club and zero in on Lala aka Delilah. Lala reminded him so much of Delilah that he ended up screwing her for weeks on every Saturday. I don't buy the whole not knowing who you are screwing shit when you actually work with the other person on such close proximity. Thank God, they actually found out later and that confrontation scene was another laugh out loud moment.

"I thought you guys were doing some kind of secret role-playing shit."

I found out that Nick tends to say this whenever being confronted,

"I swear!"

Aww... Nick, defensive much? He is too damn adorable sometimes.

I find myself enjoying the book much more after they get over the Nico/Lala debacle. He is on full on grovel mode that I totally soaking it up. What is it about a guy being miserable that make me so happy? Delilah had him completed wrap within her fingers.

"Quit ogling my ass and get back to work."
"Ogle your ass? Me? Never."

And then Nick work on his charm and swoon me out of my panties with his flirtatious text messages and overall devotion to Delilah.

Nick: I had a great time. ;)
Delilah: Are you winking at me?
Nick: No, I had something in my emoticon eye :)~

And then the best part that had me rolling over.

Delilah: I'm sorry, who is this?
Nick: The man of your dreams.
Delilah: Christian?
Nick: Guess again, doll.
Delilah: Gideon? Ethan? No, no... this must be Jess.
................................
"I don't think you will be able to kick any of their asses, sweetheart."
"What? You don't think I can take them?"
"Because they live in my Kindle, dumbass."

This book is full of sexiness, humor, charm and a totally sweet and swoony hero *sigh*. Total worthy of a reread just get to kick of another laughing session. I will never be able to listen to Plain White T's song 'Hey there, Delilah' without thinking of Nick Santino. This is a standalone with a HEA.

"Hey there, Delilah" *swoon*

Delilah finds a new job working for Nick. Things get interesting when they both cross paths at club M.

I had a fat grin for half the book, it was steamy, I loved the connection with the main characters and it was on track to being a 5 star.

However, after the halfway mark the story slowed down. I thought Nick was acting like a chick and Delilah had an irrational moment. Also, I didnt feel their relationship was "taboo".

Overall half the book I loved and the other half was okay. Ive highlighted a bunch and I definitely wont be forgetting this book anytime soon.

**** 4.5 BUBBLY ROMANTIC STARS!! ****

I love finding little gems that I would have otherwise never read, so thanks to the infamous skank, Soraya!
This was beautiful. Funny. Romantic. Sweet. And so much more,(Just ignore that raunchy cover though! nothing like what the characters are described as). It's almost like the popular jock falling for the plain ole' nerdy girl, except that plain old nerdy girl is really a sexpot underneath all her frumpy clothes!

I loved everything about this. The pacing was smooth and I couldn't put it down. Delilah was completely relatable as a woman scarred by her experiences in highschool leading her to hide herself from the world through ill-fitted clothing and awkward glasses. After the shittiest week of her life she begins a new job as a secretary to Nick Santino, a hot-blooded 'Italian stallion' who also happens to be a big shot lawyer.

Nick had to let go his previous secretary because he couldn't keep it in his pants, ;-D, but now he needs an unattractive replacement with no distraction. Delilah, though fitting the bill nicely turns out to be anything but ordinary.

What I loved so much about this was how Nick came to feel, although begrudgingly, towards Delilah despite her self-proclaimed frumpiness. It was a slow and gradual attraction to the woman underneath and this made the book so much more endearing. He of course fights these feelings wholeheartedly but can't escape them.

Nick had a traumatic event happen to him as a young boy that has basically dictated his regard and use of women. He's a love-em'-and-leave-em' type and that suits him just fine. But what happens when the woman of your dreams, the woman that finally breaks through the walls is working just a few feet away?

Of course there was also some pretty funny laugh out loud moments especially during each character's mental babbling, but a side story involving Delilah and Nick hooking up at a masquerade nighclub with neither of them knowing who the other was, was priceless! I thought it was a little far-fetched that neither of them clued in although each one noticed major similarities between the masquerade character and the real individual at work.

But fantasy soon spills into reality and each one has to face their true feelings. Delilah was more upfront with herself despite feeling she could never land a man like Nick. But it was Nick who had to break the mold and let go of his fears in order to be with the one woman that got under his skin.

This was a fantastic, hilarious and heart-warming read! highly recommended with an HEA!!!!

4.5 Frump Girl Stars

I loved this one, I truly did. Delilah' s lack of self confidence faded fast (thank sweet baby Jesus) but I still understood it all. Once she realized her sweet self could, ummm, make a man ready to go, this story was a beautiful thing. Great tension and I love the fact these two fell in love before they fell. Good stuff all the way around.

eeepp I found another good 5/5 book this week

I came across this book on a discussion recommendation page. This book was said to be similar to Kristen Ashley style. Being a lover of KA books, I bought it!!
Though I have to say, this is NOTHING like KA novel. And I'm totally ok with that.

instead I found this book to be real funny. This is also kind of a ugly ducking makeover book, which is the type of genre that draws me in like crazy.

We have Delilah, who has just found her dick head of a boyfriend of 8 years doing the bang bang with her boss "the bitch" as Delilah christened her with. She quits her job, breaks up with her boyfriend, and onto the next job!!
Nick is the new boss of Delilah, Delilah is the new secretary for Nick.
Through some connections they both end up at an club (Club Masquerade) where your identity is anonymous.

----now you have to read the rest of the book to find out what happens!!-------

I admit I was a bit iffy about starting this book.
1) being that this is a very new book, and there are no reviews out
2) being that the price is a bittttitititit out of my price range when buying kindle books $4.99
but I took the plunge since the blurb really captured my attention.

And I'm glad I did, I'm happy that I got my money's worth with a good book.

I found Delilah to be very funny, strong, and I like the fact that she can punch a bitch

Nick is charming, he also has his funny moments. The way he thinks in his head reminds me a lot of the hero from Tangled (no not the disney movie, though Eugene is also quite charming).

Overall, a great read, I recommend this to people who are looking for a light, non-dramatic, non-heart breaking read.

This is the story of Delilah, who we meet near the beginning of the book when she walks in on her douche of a boyfriend nailing her bitchy boss. Needless to say, she quits the job and the boyfriend. She gets hired by a high-profile, sexy-as-hell attorney, Nick. Delilah has always dressed frumpy and is seriously lacking in the self-confidence department. Nick is looking for a secretary he won't want to spend his day chasing around the office, and Delilah fits the bill.

Delilah goes from ugly duckling to swan. Nick and her unknowingly engage in a steamy affair each weekend, all the while, they're falling in love with one another each day at work.

The story was highly predictable, but still good. It was a lighthearted, sappy love story...and I liked it. If you're looking for a deeply emotional, soul-crushing, cry your eyes out romance, this isn't it. If you'd like a light, straightforward book to read, you'll probably like this one!

Let me first say that the cover isn't a good representation of this book. Yes it is pretty hot and there are naked people but this book is also sweet, fun, hilarious and romantic. So ignore the cover and just read it already.

Delilah's crap boyfriend cheats on her with her boss and so Delilah quits her job and him. Her new interview is with Nick who is one heck of a cocky bastard and a bit of an ass. If I knew Nick in real life I would probably have slap him a few times and would repeatedly tell him to keep it in his pants because he can't control himself half the time. Enter "frumpy" Delilah. She is exactly what he needs. He needs someone who he isn't attracted to so he can finally have an assistant he can keep without being concerned about his lower region. The oh so fun twist is that they both go to Club Masquerade or Club M. And maybe they spot each other. Of course they don't recognize each other as all attendees have to wear masks and can't speak to each. They communicate through text messages. So when they start meeting every Saturday to get theirs they still have no idea. I do really love books with secret identities. I also love it when they do find about each other. Such great scenes. I won't spoil anything because they are so fun to read.

Let me break down the leads...Delilah is not too broken over her boyfriend for long because she is quite distracted drooling over her new boss. I am still trying to imagine what she looks like because she has an interesting body figure. She is 5'2", is size 2, and has double D breasts. I'm thinking Jessica Rabbit but shorter and not a redhead. So, as teenagers can be really cruel, once she develops her large breast and everyone starts judging her harshly. How does she deal with this? She dresses up in baggy and lose clothing to hide her body shape. Hence the frumpiness. She is pretty insecure about her body. She slowly accepts her body and forms into a more confident woman through the book by the help of her awesome best friend, Charlie and also under Nick's care.

Nick on the other hand, is incredibly hot and he knows it. He is way too cocky some times but he can also be very sweet, caring and adorable, especially with Delilah. I really like that he first finds her attractive, before he meets her for the first time at Club M, just by working alongside her. He see pass the frumpiness and really sees her. They work closely together so he sees that she is witty, intelligent and his perfect woman.

I totally love their relationship. They have their ups and downs. They have words, they fight but they find a way to work it out. I am actually surprised by the amount of sex scenes in this book. This book is pretty long so I expected more sex scenes but there are not too many which is nice because we get more of their relationship outside of the bedroom. I really did love them together. They have great conversations that make me laugh and smile a lot. So adorable.

Here is one of my favorite scenes to get a feel of their relationship.

"Who the hell are all of these guys and how many are you f***ing?" I shout into the phone. I don't even know if she can hear me over her laughing. The fact that she is laughing should clue me in to the reality that she is just screwing with me, but there mere thought of another man touching her has me so riled up that I can't think straight.

She must hear the seriousness in my voice because she stops laughing, but then states, "Oh, Nick, come on. Don't get your panties in a wad."

"You still haven't answered my question, Delilah. Who are all of these men?"

"They are my book boyfriends, Nick! Jeez, calm down."

I take a deep breathe and try to be rational in a calm voice, I ask. "What's a book boyfriend and how do I find them so I can kick their asses?"

She chuckles again at my expense and responds, "I don't think you will be able to kick any of their asses, sweetheart."

Now my hackles are rising once again. How dare she question my machismo? "What? You don't think I can take them?" I ask, my ego bruised.

"Because they live in my Kindle, dumbass. They are fictional!" She shouts at me, knocking me down a peg or two.

"Oh," I say softly, "In that case, what was that about peanut butter you mentioned?"

Such a funny scene. I smiled so much when reading this because they have these kinds of conversations. So good! hahaha

If you are looking for a fun, sweet, hilarious and sexy romance so pick this one up right now. Just go. (Oh and yes the song is mentioned all the time as an inside joke between them.)

A 3.5 stars!!! Hey There, Delilah is a fun, hot, light read.

Delilah, a self proclaimed frumpy girl, caught her boyfriend doing the deed, doggie style, with her bitch of a boss. She quit her job (obviously) and dump her cheating boyfriend of (almost) 8 years!

In comes Nick Santino, she became the secretary of the gorgeous, rich, powerful, and mighty cocky controlling partner at Santino Law Firm. Delilah is definitely a goner.

Nick is a player - a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy... and the only reason he hired Delilah as his secretary is because he isn't attracted to the frumpy girl. But he can't seem to get Delilah off his mind.

Till one night at Club Masquerade, where everyone wears a mask and a nametag with a fake name and no speaking permitted to keep ones identity, she hooked up with a hot guy named "Nico" a.k.a. Nick. And Nick, doesn't know Lala is Delilah.

LaLa #128: Why did I wear what?
Nico #812: Don’t play coy. The red lace.
LaLa #128: Oh, this old thing. I wore it because I knew u would like it
Nico #812: And how did u know I would be here?
LaLa #128: Because I knew u would be waiting for me
Nico #812: That smart mouth is going to get u into a world of trouble
LaLa #128: Then maybe u have something to keep my big mouth quiet?
Nico #812: And what would it take to achieve that feat?
LaLa #128: At least 8 in
Nico #812: Woman, u r killing me & I haven’t even touched u yet
LaLa #128: What r u waiting for?
Nico #812: Dance with me?
LaLa #128: I still don’t even know who u are
Nico #812: Turn around & look toward the bar.

I pretty much enjoyed this book! You get to read both POV. Though Delilah appears to be smart and witty but her insecurity makes her act childish. And Nick? Well, he's just hot! ;)

An irresistable plot... a scorching read!

This book is one of those rare ones that will surprise you and you will be hooked. It made me laugh, wiggle uncomfortably and flat out fall in love with Delilah and Nick.

M.D. Saperstein and Andria Large are a great new voice in contemporary romance -- hilarious, heartfelt and hot.

Laugh out loud moment:

[“Okay, fine. So, apparently this guy
that we have an appointment with,
Fronk…”

He interrupts and looks at me. “You
mean Frank?” he asks with a snicker.

“No, his name is Fronk,” I grumble,
nodding my head in a “yes” motion.

“Frank?” he asks again.

I know he understands me, I know
he is fucking with me. But I am so on
edge from avoiding telling him all week
that I repeat myself a little louder than I
normally would have.

“Fronk, Nick. The guy’s name is
Fronk. FR- ah-NK. Fronk.” I enunciate,
waving my arms around.

“His name is Frank. I am not calling
him Fronk.” He looks at me again, his
lips curling slightly at the corners.

I let out a sigh, completely
exasperated. I look at him and he is
laughing so hard he can’t breathe.
“What? What’s so funny?” I huff,
slapping my hand on my thigh.

“I just realized something,” he says
during the breaths he takes, still laughing
his ass off.

I start laughing to, but I have no idea
why. “Are you gonna share?”

“His name is Fronk…” I think he is
going to pee in his pants.

“Yeah. That’s what I have been
trying to tell you.”

“Like the wedding planner on
Father of the Bride…” Still laughing.]

I loved loved loved this book!!

At first I was a little put off by the creepy guy on the cover (Yes I am one of those people who judges a book by its cover)

But wow was I proved wrong!

This books tells the story of Delilah.....a girl with little self confidence whom everyone considers frumpy as she dresses like a 90 year old bag lady, who gets cheated on.

So she has to quit her job, new job- enter Nick, the Itallian Stallion. He thinks she's a frump too so chances are he wont want to bang her on his desk.

WRONG!!

Delilah is a hotty under all those layers.

They end up sleeping together, but dont know they're sleeping together as its all done without talking and seeing each others faces within Club M- Where faces and talking are not allowed.

Yes this story is predicatable, its the whole falling in love with the boss which has been done before. Little bit of drama towards the end thats also been done before.

But its done well.

And there was even a line we could all relate to regarding our fictional book boyfriends, Gidion, Christian, Ethan and Jessie.

Delilahs BFF was quite prominant in the story, she was a good friend to Delilah, said what she thought and was always trying to boost Delilahs confidence.

And I was happy to see she'll be getting her own book :)

4.5 stars. This book was such a surprise for me...a great one! I could die from the cuteness of this story lol! I love Nick and Delilah! However, I swear, every time I heard Delilah's name that Plain White Ts song literally played in my head...it's a good thing I actually like the song haha! Great story and I loved the ending. This book is a great start to the new year. :)

***4.5 Cannoli-and-donuts filled and Japanese Cherry Blossoms scented Stars!***

This has been a really delightful read and it was for free on Amazon (at least last night when I one-clicked it, it was). I figured, why not? I'm glad I didn't pass on reading this because the cover doesn't exactly appeal to me but I love the blurb, the boss-secretary thing seemed hot.

Although I wouldn't say it was perfect for me and because I'm feeling good after reading this, I would focus on the happy and good parts instead of dissecting what did not work for me.

Nick Santino - funny, charming, hot, witty, and so so so sweet I can eat him up! He was mentioned to be quite a ladies' man but didn't dip further into it and it was fine with me. I think he was meant to be an uncaring, not-into-commitments type of guy, but it written so funny that I can't help but laugh at him.

Delilah Sampson - super witty, insecure about her body, beautiful, smart, LaLa was a fun character to read! I liked her fast wit and smart mouth and how she speaks her mind.

The story was really light, nothing too heavy or emotional but it was not a so-so book either. The build-up was good except for me, it took quite long and before I knew it, I was at 80% and their actual love story/HEA is just getting started. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this and if you're looking for an angst-free, sweet, and funny read... this might be it! And oh! I love the Christian, Gideon, and Ethan mention!

The story started okay. It's quite interesting.
I didn't find myself totally immersed in the story.

I think the part where they were clueless about each other is supposed to be exciting but it wasn't, I was bored. I wanted to drop it around 60% of the story but I continued coz I might like it.

Some of the reviews in book 2 said that this is way better than book 2, so there's a huge possibility that book 2 might be a bore too. :(

4.5 "Scrumptious" Stars!

ARC provided by author for an honest review!

"Oh it's what you do to me."

I could not get that Plain White T's song out of my head! The story seemed to bop along with the song for some reason!

"You, my love, are my weakness - my downfall, my Delilah."- Nick

Delilah Sampson is frumpy. She's not ugly or even unattractive, just the kind of girl that doesn't really get noticed. She's more concerned with being comfortable and practice as opposed to sexy and fashionable. After breaking up with her cheating boyfriend and leaving her old life behind, she begins a new job at Nick Santino's law firm as his assistant.

Nick Santino is a sexy workaholic lawyer who has a habit of sleeping with his secretaries but when he is unwilling to commit, he loses not only his bed partner but his employee too. Tired of his revolving door of assistants he hires Delilah because he feels no physical attraction to her and is delighted to find out that she is a kick ass assistant.

Now to introduce Club M! I loved the idea of this place! It is where people go to "hook up" with no strings. Everyone wears masks and communicate only through text messages. No speaking allowed, no sharing of personal information and no revealing of true identities. Strict anonymity. Delilah's friend convinces her to go to the club for a night of fun with no inhibitions. After a complete make over Delilah is transformed in to Club M's sexy LaLa. Nico immediately notices LaLa, LaLa immediately notices Nico. After flirty texting for a while, they start making good use of Nico's private VIP room. Welp, I'm sure you can guess who Nico really is...

Unsuspecting, Nico and LaLa enjoy a hot and heavy sexual relationship at the club on the weekends while clueless Nick and Delilah work long hours together during the week, each fantasizing about their club partners. That is until Delilah doesn't seem so frumpy to Nick anymore and the similarities between Delilah and his LaLa are hard to ignore.

Can Frumpy Girl tame the Club M Player?

"Not that I am screwing Delilah, but that’s all I have ever done – screwed, fucked, plowed. But tonight…tonight feels different. Something is different. About me. About LaLa. About us."-Nick

I loved the concept of this story! The chemistry between the two them was off the charts! Extremely hot! Like I said earlier, The Club M idea was awesome! I would love to read more about that place. I hope the series spends more time there!

Why 4.5 stars and not 5 stars?

I will admit the beginning was a little too slow for me and the writing seemed off but it got progressively better by about the 30% mark. At around 50% I couldn't put it down, making me really glad that I stuck with it! I also thought some of Nick's POV was a little obnoxious in the beginning but that also improved. The last chapter sent my heart soaring though! I love when I finish a book feeling like that!

5 stars for this wonderfully hilarious and super sexy book!!! Andria Large pinned me down as a fan with her Beck Brothers series (check it out if you haven't already), so I automatically wanted to read this. This is the first time I've read Ms. Saperstein's work, and I'm most definitely a fan now.

Hey There, Delilah has everything I love in a well written book. A sexy alpha male who is successful, sexy as sin, the right amount of cocky, snarky, hilarious, considerate, loving, and willing to change for love. It also has a heroine that is plain jane, can laugh at herself, yet stand her ground when needed, a good person with a heart of gold, and a loveable siren underneath a much needed makeover and confidence boost. I love Nick and Delilah together...the sexy lawyer vs the "frump girl" secretary.

Some could say that this "story" has been told lots of times, but what makes it stand out, is the character development. The things we learn about these two as individuals, the way we see them meet, interact with each other, work together, get to know each other intimately and in an unconventional way, and the banter between them that had me in tears laughing, was fantastic. It's a book where you aren't loaded down with angst, you don't get taken on an emotional roller coaster...you get to see a great relationship develop, great characters grow separately and together, laugh out loud at the dialogue throughout the book, and sweat with the heat from the sexytime! Good Lord, Nick can talk to me in bed anytime!!!

It's a stand alone, has a HEA and leaves you satisfied with the story. I would love to see a 2nd book, either the next phase for Nick and LaLa, or a book for Charlie and Calvin with updates on Nico and LaLa. I look forward to more books from this author duo, both co-written and separate!~

Ooooh, this one looks awesome! When can I get my greedy little hands on it??!! :)

This a a great read, made even better by the fact it was free on amazon and it's a fairly long read too.
Delilah goes to work for Nick, who's the usual boss fabulous body, great looks but a bit of man whore, who has slept with most women including his previous secretaries!
Enter Delilah who covers up her looks with baggy clothes due to insecurities she suffered from her childhood days.
Talked into going to an adult masquerade club where members are to conceal there identity by wearing masks and only being able to talk via anonymous pagers, she takes the eye of Nick, who doesn't realise it's Delilah.
Funny thing is despite his initial feelings towards Delilah, he chooses her to be his secretary because he doesn't fancy her ! He starts to have sexual feelings for Delilah.
This story has a great fun feel to it and lots of steamy action.
It's a great read and has some twists and turns in the plot, definitely one to pick up and read.
4.5 stars from me.

This book was fantastic, from start to finish.
I loved the whole idea of Club Masquerade. It's dark, mysterious and sinfully sexy.

Nick and Delilah are a wonderful couple. Their combined sense of humour had me repeatedly laughing out load.
Delilah is pretty kick-ass too.

I just enjoyed everything about this book and will definitely be reading more by these authors :D

This was very funny. I enjoyed the alternating POVs, it worked really well. Some occurrences were implausible but the story was so much fun it was easy to overlook them. I loved both Delilah and Nick, very cute.

Aw, shit, he wasn’t wearing a condom with her, was he? Guess I will hit the clinic before I head home. Happy fucking birthday to me!

Well, ain’t that a bummer? Talk about a crappy birthday surprise! Walking in on your boyfriend bumping uglies with your boss – not a good birthday present by anyone’s standards!

Delilah is a bombshell, but she keeps all the goods hidden beneath a shell of ill-fitting clothing; her face is scrubbed clean and free of makeup and she lets her hair kind of does what it wants and that's not saying much.

When Delilah walks in on her boyfriend having sex with her boss she is momentarily devastated, but then promptly does what any self-respecting girl would do; she quits her job, quits her boyfriend, has herself a little pity-party and then gets her shit together and moves on with her life. Lucky for her, a new job opportunity kind of falls in her lap and it is a perfect fit for her… well, perfect if you take out the fact that her potential new boss is a womanizing man-whore who can’t keep his dick in his pants long enough for any secretary to get comfortable actually being a secretary.

Yeah, that’s right, Nick is a player, but he is also an attorney and he needs a secretary who is on top of things, can keep him organized and is totally disgustingly UGLY!
Why can’t they just send over someone educated, experienced, and completely unattractive so I can just focus on my work and not on her tits and ass?
Sounds like Delilah will be perfect for the job, but Fate, that evil bitch, has something totally different in store for Nick and Delilah.

HEY THERE, DELILAH was a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed the humor that was ever-present throughout the book. It’s a feel good story where the “ugly duckling” finally snags her prince charming. My only beef with the book was the series title: A TABOO LOVE – I kept banging my head against the wall thinking that the series title TOTALLY doesn’t match this first book – I suppose I need to read a little less trash, because it finally dawned on me (and it’s in the blurb) that the “taboo” aspect is the boss/secretary relationship – DUH! Sooooooo, snatch it up if you are looking for a sexy romance with loads of charming and funny characters – it’s bound to be a hit!

Seriously amazing!! I just laugh my ass off reading this book, totally HILARIOUS!!

I soooo loved Delilah and Nick, OMG every time he greeted her with "Hey, there Delilah " it just made me melt.... How the story begins to unravel and how he learns to fall for her despite her frumpy ways... Just lovely!!!

Thank you Andria Large and M.D. Saperstein for this book I just loved it... ❤❤❤

“Nick:  Thinking of u
Delilah: I’m sorry, who is this?”
Delilah: Christian?
“Nick: Guess again, doll.
Delilah:  Gideon?  Ethan?
Delilah: No, No…this must be Jesse.  You’re the one that kept me up late last night. What you did with that peanut butter. Omg, it was so hot!”
“They are my book boyfriends, Nick!  Jeez, calm down.”
I take a deep breath and try to be rational. In a calm voice, I ask. “What’s a book boyfriend and how do I find them so I can kick their asses?
She chuckles again at my expense and responds, “I don’t think you will be able to kick any of their asses, sweetheart.”

Hahahaha simply one of the best quotes ever!! These are my fictional boyfriends too... LMFAO

“I love your daughter with my whole heart and soul, and I want to be with her for the rest of my life. With your blessing, I’d like to ask for her hand in marriage.”

“Before I met you, I had everything I ever needed. At least I thought I did. I was good at my job, had a great condo, enjoyed easy friendships, and a healthy social life. Then one day, exactly one year ago today, you walked into my life and changed me forever.”

“Now, with you in my life, Doll, I no longer live to work, I work to live. I’ve come to realize that the man makes money, money doesn’t make the man. And you’ve taught me that the love of a good woman, the right woman...you...is more important than any material possession or any professional achievement that I could have ever dreamed of.  You, my love, are my weakness - my downfall, my Delilah.”

“Delilah Rose Sampson.  I promise to love, honor, and cherish you, every minute of every day for the rest of my life.  Would you do me the honor of sharing the rest of your life with me and becoming by wife?”

...Nick... ❤❤❤

Can't wait for Charlie's book... Mmm I bet Calvin will be her partner in crime... Mmm yummy chocolate man!!

Hey There, Delilah… By Andria Large and M.D. Saperstein

Happy, satisfied, and planning on sweet dreams with Nico/Nick. YUP that is how I feel right about now. I totally loved this book. If I had to say the best part it would be too hard. I really enjoyed the authors seamless story. When there are two authors I always wonder who wrote what parts and if one author took a character as her own. Who cares I wanted more of all of them!

As for the characters, well obviously I liked Delilah. She was a self conscious frumpy girl who was more than meets the eyes. She was in a bad situation and sort of in need of help. Her best friend Charlie was another intricate part of the story. She was always right there to lend a hand, give advice, or tough love whichever Delilah needed.

Lucky for Delilah her Mom's best friend Carmella (who I love btw) got her the hook up for the job. Another humorous scene as Nick contemplates hiring a bunch of bombshells. He picks Delilah so he wont be tempted. It lasted a week! The internal conversations Nick has are amongst the most hilarious! Aside from a trip to get waxed.

Now at a point there is a life altering event that changes Delilah. When everything is good for her it is really good and then the bottom falls out from under it. With this part added, there is another dimension added to Delilah that makes you love her even more. A very realistic and in touch character.

Then there is Nick Santino, lawyer, boss, and hotter than you will know. His best friend Calvin owns an exclusive club that is the bees knees for sure. Club Masquerade

Who wouldn't want dark like a latte, smooth talkin club owner Calvin? I wanted Charlie to get hooked up with him, but I will hold out for book 2.

That is another great thing, there is NO cliffhanger. I seriously can't wait to see what this dynamic duo come up with next. Pun intended as there are many comic book references in the book.

Warning: funny, hilarious, and so freakin sexy MAY make you blush A LOT

Holy Santino! This was ah-mazingggg!

Delilah and Nick were polar opposites, but yet, managed to figure it all out and made it work (with a few slips and dips here and there).

There were many, and I mean many, laugh out loud moments, heartbreaking moments and definitely had stars in my eyes as the story went on.

Nick Santino became a reformed lady's man and falls in love with Delilah, Frump Girl.

Heartwarming, funny and romantic - you can't ask for more!!!!

A sweet and sexy story of "frump girl" blooming into hot girl and landing the sexy self assured alpha.... I enjoyed every part of this story..

Delilah was a completely likeable character, even when she wasn't confident about her looks. She was smart and sassy.. and once she blossomed into her "LaLa" side.. she was amazing. and Nick.. yummy yummy Italian Stallion-- totally confused at his attraction to his frumpy new secretary.. then when LaLa blossoms... wow! Hooked--line an sinker. He was a goner---

A mask hides their identity's at a hot club--- when they fall for each other at the club, they have no idea that it's the same person they are falling for at the office.. One realizes who the other is first though and that's when things really got interesting!

This was a page turner and a really super easy fun read. stayed up reading it all night till the very end. Loved this story. The writing was smooth, the story held me, the steam was HOT, the characters were both awesome. From page one till the end.. I LOVED IT!!!

I loved this book! It was well written, edited, and thoughtful. What really impressed me was how the author addressed in depth the self esteem issues that many women, young and old, have. Delilah did not see the beauty in herself. She was bullied in school making her feel ugly, which then affected her adult life. I liked how the author, through Nick, helped Delilah see her inner and outer beauty. And let's not forget about Nick! He is sexy, funny, and ultimately, a real gentleman. Who could resist his charms? Get this book, you won't regret it!
