Kathy Matchinsky endured every parent's worst nightmare: helplessly watching her beautiful little girl slowly succumb to a devastating illness. When she said goodbye to Cassie, she feared it was the last contact she'd have with her daughter in this life. Little did she know that her miraculous, transformative journey with Cassie had just begun.
Heartbreaking story of every parent’s nightmare; losing a child. I went to school with Kathy and her husband, Rick and they are wonderful people who suffered a terrible tragedy. I’m not writing this review because I know them, I’m writing it because I know how they suffered, and still do, from this loss and the story had to have been a hard one to write. And yet it was written, with grace and no self-pity. I think parents who have lost children should read this and be comforted by it. Cassie still looks over them, and it’s a comfort to know that. It broke my heart and I can’t imagine going through it but they did it and came out on the other side of it as stronger people. They are an inspiration.
