The idea of an arranged marriage was medieval! But that was the binding clause in Heather's uncle's will. She had to marry Paul Andre. She knew their marriage would be just a business affair. Paul would never fool her into trusting him. But soon Heather found it was her own heart she couldn't trust.
This was good, but it all happened too fast, like an old record played at the wrong speed. Too many emotions going here and there, back and forth again, in too short a time. There was the OM and the OW, but it all seemed so rushed. (In this story, the OM and the OW were once involved, but you don't get any details at all.) The scenes with the H's family were the best, but again, not enough time was spent on then; only two quick appearances by the H's sister, and she's the one that starts the trouble between the H and h, and I would have liked more time with the H's grandmother, the best character in the book, in my opinion. The reconciliation scene went by way too fast and ended too abruptly.
