Through Grumpy and Optimistic Octopus, the book teaches kids how to react when things do not go your way. Colourful lovely illustrations and simple tale for older children.

This is a great topic - all kids need to learn to shape and guide their feelings in order to function in society (and at school). Some kids bite when they get mad, others hit. Gotta learn to deal with disappointment.

This book focuses on how to view the world when something bad happens. But it doesn't help you when some kid grabs your toy - or worse yet, breaks it. I'd like to see how the optimistic octopus handles that :)

We all could be more like Optimistic Octopus!

I read this to my girls yesterday and they loved it. Honestly I did too. We all could learn a lesson or two from Optimistic Octopus. It teaches how mindset is everything. Bad things can and will happen but it's how you look at it that truly matters. Definitely read this to your kiddo/s!

great book!

I love these books so much! They help me teach my kids how to handle their emotions! I also love that they have different examples of when you may be get frustrated at a situation but you don’t have to let it ruin your day.

great ways to deal with being optimistic

My daughter really liked this one because it helps her feelings about being optimistic. Some kiddos over think things or get down when things don’t go as planned. This one helps kiddos understand it’s okay.

Wonderful View!

My 7 year old said ‘that was awesome and amazing!’
What a great concept for kids and adults both. The ‘problem’ doesn’t always have to be bad or negative, if we just flip our mindset to feel better about it. This was a cute way to get that point across! 💜

Optimistic Octopus (Emotions Aquarium Book 5) by Diane Mendell (Diane Alber) – So this is on kindle unlimited, and the rest of this series is by Diane Alber. I’m wondering if this is an author typo or a misplaced pen name? But either way, the book was cute! Happy Reading!

Great read aloud to children and talking about how to have a good day and what optimistic means and looking for the good not being a grouch in the emotions aquarium. Deals with emotions.
