Caught: In A Case

Rate this book
Elizabeth had her world turned upside when her father disappeared and was considered dead. It wasn't until she had met her stepmother's lawyer that she realized things were not as they seemed.

Jackson had his life just the way he wanted until his latest legal case had him personally involved. The moment he met Elizabeth, the decision was made, she was his and his life was to be changed forever.

This is the first book in the series but it does have a HEA. Each book will be a different set of characters. I haven't decided which couple is next but it will be coming sometime in December of 2014.

THIS IS THE BOOK THAT STARTED IT ALL.
Book one in the caught series by CM Steele.
I loved this book and yes it was hot and smutty but it was cute and funny also.
The hero and the heroine have an instant connection and they have to overcome a lot to be together.
I thought that Elizabeth (our heroine) was an amazingly balanced young lady given that her home life was so messed up. Her stepmother and "father" supposedly tried to sell her off in a prostitution ring.
It's only by chance that she then mets the hero who saves her from this fate.
An awesome book, with action and passion. Loads of hot scene and sweet scenes that will have you going Ahhhhh!
Even had my epilogue years down the road! :D
Enjoy and Happy reading

Safety : Hero has experience she is a virgin (as she is only 17 so this makes sense) they don't really push and pull. Little OM/OW drama.

So why the 4 stars instead of 5? It's because it has some editing issues. They are small and did not really bother me all that much but it's not a perfect read.

PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION/MILD SPOILERS AHEAD
If you don't want any spoilers stop now!

I can't tell you how disgusted I was to find out all of the stepmother had already done in order to get what she wanted. Like teaching a seventeen year old how to give head!
The story gets a little crazy when we find out that she was stolen as a baby from the hospital from her actual birth mother and father.
She married the hero fast as he could in Vegas before anything else could go wrong.
However, with so many trills and spills in this one you may need to keep notes. I will not spoil it all for you but I truly enjoyed their path to happily ever after.

Heroine is 17 and still in high school. Hero is a 32 year old lawyer. So there is a 15 year age difference which might annoy some people but I love it! Hero is OTT obsessive and alpha and possessive! Elizabeth was so sweet, she was perfect for Jackson! Only problem is that the writing style in this one is bad. It switches POVs among everyone without warning and switches from 1st person to 3rd constantly so it is confusing but I still enjoyed reading this!

Love this story. They get together and stay together.Slight push/pull in the beginning. Just a small ow drama, but it didn't cause problems between the mcs. The h had a boyfriend in the beginning, and her and the H kissed before she broke it off with him, so that's the only cheating that happened in the book. There was talk of rape as one of the H's exes claimed he raped her, but he didn't and that was all settled years ago, but I like to mention when rape is mentioned. Great read.

First book in Caught Series. It's about Jackson, 32 and Elizabeth,17 but her age is legal in their state.

Jackson was a lawyer and partner in his firm. He's the one handling the case of Elizabeth's stepmom, Laney who's the suspect for her dad's murder but was still missing. At first, she thought Jackson was Laney's lover and she had a boyfriend (Tommy) at the time. But Jackson told her not to see him anymore. And she later on found out that Tommy cheated on her.

They got married in Vegas before meeting his parents in Maine. They stayed there for a while because of some issues. She was being set up by her father and stepmom. And there's a problem in his firm too. There's also an accident. But all were solved in the end.

There's also a twist towards the end

Elizabeth was a virgin when they met and Jackson had his fair share of women but he was celibate for a year before he met Elizabeth. And there was a woman, one of his partner's daughter who kept on throwing herself at him and was naked one time but he rejected her. So it's still a safe read for me.

And there's a cute epilogue too and other couples were mentioned too. Will read them next.

Jackson saw her and knew she was going to be his future. Elizabeth saw him and was furious he was her step mothers lover, boy was she wrong. As Jackson tries to reign Elizabeth in they discover shady dealings and a plan to ruin both of them.

I had a problem with the age in this one, she is seventeen and he is in his thirties. I just didn't sense a connection and some of the dialog just fell short for me. I like the author a lot but this one just didn't grasp me.

Another old read that I never rated or reviewed.

This was about the hero named Jackson who is hired by the heroine's stepmother because the father has disappeared and is assumed dead. Jackson sees the heroine Elizabeth and knows she is the one. The heroine doesn't like the hero at first because she thinks he has something going on with her stepmother but once that is cleared they are full speed ahead with many secrets that come out about her and her family as her and the hero get together.

This was cute OTT, older man younger woman, low angst, and insta love romance. It was a nice full story and I actually enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

I loved this book! it had lots of suspense, was one of those over the top instalove stories that I love so much. it was told in a dual pov but at times you get thoughts from other characters which was cool. I loved Jackson. he was alpha and jealous and wanted to get Elizabeth pregnant from the moment he laid eyes on her but was very protective over her as well. Elizabeth seemed like a shy push over type at first but then she broke out of her shell and was awesome. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Felt like reading Jordan Silver's books but got confused by the change of POV. For instance, one paragraph was told by H, and then the next one was h's POV, and another one was told by H's friend . . .

🟥Everyone who rated this book.

🟥I don't blame you, but .....mmm....did you guys realize that he was in his 30s and she was 17.

🟥That's underage if I'm not mistaken.

🟥He had 'sexual thoughts' for underage girl. Yes. GIRL.

🟥Just breast development DOES NOT mean she legal now.

🟥I hate this word, but .... the p-word was starkly NOT clear, because most of us didn't look past their jealousy and possessiveness towards each other.

🟥I am never reading a CM Steele book ever again. Ik that doesn't mean much to .....GR as a whole.

🟥I ALSO know that the age of consent is different in different states. Which, is ALSO violated here because in Nashville , it is 18. And frankly, it would have made me feel better if she was 18.

🟥I was grossed out.

🟥But to hint at p-words subtly, by covering it up with 'love', 'possessiveness' ...... its not okay.

🟥DO NOT ARGUE WITH ME PLEASE. Keep your views to yourself. Or say it out loud. Idc.

This is the first book in the Caught series. Jackson Blake is a partner in the law firm he started with his best friend, Caleb James. He's originally from Maine but just opened an office in Seattle so he's there over seeing things. Elizabeth Homan is a 17 year old high school senior, her Father is missing & her Stepmother is being blamed for his disappearance. Her Stepmother seeks council from Jackson's firm but after she repeatedly flirts with him he tells her no. Jackson is instantly captivated by Elizabeth & makes her his in no time. When he takes her home to Maine to meet his family she discovers the devastating truth about the day she was born.

NOT WORTH READING

Although I have enjoyed reading other stories written by this author, was not impressed with Book One of this new series. The storyline seemed forced and stiffly written. It felt as if words were just added to help gain interest of the reader. Unfortunately the sex, swear words and violence came off distasteful. Not my kind of reading.

Trying To Be Fair

I didn’t finish this book. I wanted to, but I couldn’t. Got to 16% on my kindle and had to just leave my review.

There are so many POV changes, none labelled, and some literally mid-paragraph. I can’t. I just can’t. I still enjoy me some C.M. Steele, but the continuity mistakes in this book kept pulling me right out of the story.

I gave it 3 stars because I didn’t hate it. Continuity, particularly POV changes and names of characters, are a big deal to me. Too many of them inhibit my ability to enjoy what I’m reading. That said, if it’s not a big deal for you, give the book a read. There were definitely things I enjoyed, I just ultimately couldn’t read past the things I didn’t.

A lot to catch

This book has a lot going on. Very hot lawyer and young girl. Insta love is someone dead are they alive? Four or five problems then another topic of the cop from the state watching Elizabeth which goes into another problem and it all revolves around the same people whose suggestions to help are from across the country. I liked the book but C.M Steele has done better. I want to read the others to see if they are as scattered or rushed.

I wanted to love this book, it has so many povs that should have been at least separated to know who's saying what... you spend most of the book trying to figure it out.. and it's poorly written... I could tell you how many times I had to correct a line in my mind for it to make sense..
The story had potential, I love the characters, but it was too much drama all at once..
Despite having some complaints I gave it 3 stars because I did enjoy the story and C.M. Steele's imagination.

Caught

I wasn’t sure if I was enjoying this book until about halfway through. It was then that I realized that even though I still wasn’t 100% sure of it I was definitely drawn in to the story. By the end of the story I was a little upset that it was ending. Not my favorite story by this author but very good. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Caught: In a Case

I am going to have fun reading this series. It was a hell of a plot, with its fair share of action. So many people involved in kidnapping Elizabeth and trying to sell her to the nasty mayor. Along came Blake and put a monkey wrench in their plans and things come crashing down. I loved it.

Loved

Definitely different from her other books that I read. You gotta keep up with the with who’s point of view it is, because it doesn’t tell you. But I definitely loved the older guy younger girl vibe. Loved the story too

I wanted to like it, more than I did... Jackson was just TOO MUCH! And She's way away too young ;(

17 alone is way to young but 17 and 32 ? That's not even legal is it ? This is my 4th book with Ms. Steel's Uber Alpha males and as much as I wanted like and believe me I TRIED!! A 32 your old man taking one look at a 17 girl and pursuing her like a grown woman one minute and taking her life over like the child she is the next ?
I mean dragging her off to Vegas to marry before she's even had a chance to graduate High school ? Who is he Jerry Lee Lewis ? Granted this isn't or wasn't as disgusting as running off with your 13/14 yr. old cousin but come on ;( if he really was a "good" and not an insecure caveman and Really loved her, he'd at least backed off and I don't know ,aaaas let her grow up some ? Have a life before her took it over ? 17 just seven freaking teen and he's eager to knock up with a baby when damn it she's still a baby herself ;( What really got was the way the story was written if Elizabeth hadn't have gotten together in this totally inappropriate insta- caveman kinda love with Jackson , well let's just say her life was "going to Hell in a ha basket" was a gross understatement.... Not only does hooking up with him, save her from literally a "fate worse than death" but she finds a very loving family she NEVER knew she had and takes their heart break away.... And though it was a great plot twist it all just seemed to justify how completely inappropriate their F'ed up relationship was..... If we really loved her and wasn't an easy nose cure prick he'd just protected her an maybe woo'ed her a bit as he got to know her, but without imposing himself and his plans and wants and needs on her... He' have backed off let her maybe live his parents or something go collage and expand her horizons and learn who she is before making her "barefoot and pregnant" per say... In the epilogue we see by the time she's 19 or so she got 1 yr. old twins and 8 months along with another one.. WTF ? Now even 20 yet and she's almost got 3 kids ?!?!? Come on.... Supposedly he's all for her taking " on-line" classes ( only,Coz heaven forbid another man looks at her twice) but supposedly a very young eager to please ( basically still a girl) is happy to stay at home and just pop out one baby after another ;( I soo WANTED TO LIKE Jackson, but all to often ,even though I believed he loved her he treated her like property , the way he just expects to take over her life, he isn't subtle and thinks what ever he wants he's just supposed to have... Like her age approbate boyfriend is just " supposed to go" because he a man " almost" old enough to be her father wants to quote " make her his" ... He kept making think of the F'ed up interview I once saw with Kenny Rodgers long ago right after he married a woman in her very early 20's and he was in his late 50's or early 60's and talked utter BS about getting a woman young soo they could be trained up right... Wanted to puke after that.. Was Never a huge fan of his but I despised him after that and honestly Jackson almost felt like that at times, though he had some qualms about their wrongness in ages, he didn't do truly right by her in my opinion... I kept thinking Couldn't this guy have handled a woman his own age? A woman with her own life and opinions that he couldn't control and dominate like this ? Would he have been able to love a "Grown" woman as much as "his" Lizzy ? I'd have Much preferred to have seen that this kinda Alpha male with intensity with have made an incredible story with a grown woman who cold hold her own and really challenge him and not a lil girl who wasn't even out of her basic education ;(
Not a bad story per say, but would have been 100% better with two grown up with lives of their own and not a caveman and a young girl....
Please Ms. Steele I love you men and your stories are interesting but give them grown women ,women with lives and jobs and identifies of their own the men can't easily just come in and take over...
No Choice was a MUCH better book...
