Titans of Chicago #5

Perilously Yours

KESIA

I've dedicated my career trying to improve the life of today’s youth.
Little did I know, it’d lead me back to my own past and childhood crush.
If he’d been out of my league back when he was just my teenage infatuation.
He most definitely would be now that he had become a Titan of Chicago.
When reunited, the spark was lit creating a fire neither of us could contain.
Only good things usually don’t happen to girls like me. They never have.

ROMEO

I’d watched Titan after Titan fall promising not to be the next one.
I might’ve been able to keep that vow until I reunited with my once crush.
She’s not only smart and beautiful, but also the one that had gotten away.
Although we’re living in different worlds, I want to make her part of mine.
It’s easier said than done because she represents a past I left behind.
And to have a future, I will have to confront it. I’m not sure that I can.

First love’s a powerful force and when we decide to finally give in, it might be too late. Time is running out as a threat surfaces with the potential to turn our past and present love into a perilous future neither of us can survive.

(I received an ARC for this book)

trigger warnings will be at the bottom of this review, to avoid spoilers
There is a focus on assault within the storyline of this book. I will include more information at the bottom to avoid spoilers.
Graphic violence on page that includes assault and injuries that result in visits to the hospital (including an MC in a dangerous situation), mentions of the loss of a loved one in a shooting, Alzheimer’s and loss.

Another Titan ripping my heart out! But Romeo Seaton wasn’t alone, Kesia definitely helped me suffer. They grew up together, glued together. And then life took them in two different directions. But the best part: life brought them back together at the perfect moment. When Kesia becomes the new principal in town, the star football player is right there ready to fully win her over in the way he had always hoped to. She’s insecure about his spotlight, but he’s not about to lose her again. It’s adorable reading them feel the love they had always hoped for. And thennnnn we go on the roller coaster! I know better! I KNOW the Titans always mess with my heart! But I was NOT prepared for what unraveled!

I am so sad my time with these Titans has come to an end. Between Chicago and Manhattan, they’re some of my favorite billionaire romances!

My Favorite Quotes:
• “You take my breath away as much now as you ever did.”
• “I can’t wait to be inside of you.”
• “Tell me what you want.” “You. I want you to touch me.” “Touching you is my favorite thing to do.”
• “I love you, and have only ever loved just you.”
• “I’ve always only ever wanted you.”
• “Use my c!ck and take what you want and need.”

Trigger Warnings include:
There is a focus on assault within the storyline of this book. This is more detailed information about what this involves: there is a drunken assault by a boyfriend that results in a hospital stay. This becomes a violated restraining order, stalking, and a secondary attack. Those instances do not involve a main character. However, the FMC is involved in a dangerous scenario within the situation and she also needs medical assistance.

Dark, sexy, spicey, and oh so steamy. My favourite type of book.

Perilously Yours is a delicious and beautifully written second-chance romance and the fifth book in the Titans of Chicago series. This multilayered tale creates a web of emotions that left my heart racing and at times, broke it. The narrative is well-crafted, with a touch of darkness, sensuality, and emotional depth.

He’s a player in every sense of the word, at work and between the sheets, and will not let himself be taken down like the other Titans. However, when the one that got away comes back into his life, he will do anything to make her his. Meeting up with her childhood crush was not on the agenda, but she doesn’t know if she can walk away.

The amazing characters are well developed, as are the twists within the storyline.

If you love a wonderfully dark romance tale, you will have to read it.

Make sure to read the books in order or you are missing out:

1 - Deceptively Yours
2 - Forbiddenly Yours
3 - Dangerously Yours
4 - Obsessively Yours

Perilously Yours is Book 5 in the Titans of Chicago and I am a little sad as this is the final book in this Titans series. I love all things Anise Storm writes and I loved the story of Romeo and Kesia. This story gave me all the feels of friends to lovers, romance and so much spark and sizzle, this was a great ending to the series.

Kesia and Romeo grew up together long ago, but after graduation, different colleges took them each on a completely different path and in hindsight, losing touch. When Kesia is approached with an opportunity to relocate to Chicago as a new principle to a school....she takes up the new job and reconnects with Romeo on a chance encounter. The sparks fly knowing their past connection....with a simple girl from Texas and a Titan.

I love the connection between the characters and I highly recommend this series and start from the beginning. Looking forward to more from the author in the future!

Perilously Yours is the 5th book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm.

From the very beginning you can tell that Kesia and Romeo were meant to be together. But fate stepped in and handed them a cruel set of cards and separated them for years. But, when two souls are meant to be together, when each soul is each other's half and perfect match and the each completes the other, they always find their way back together. And so, it was here in Perilously Yours that we see Kesia and Romeo, who's souls complete each other, finally reunited even though they are no longer the same people they were when they were when they were last together.

Romeo is now a Titan of Chicago, one of the Titan's of high society. He is both powerful and admired and Kesia is both scared and intimidated to reenter his world believing that she doesn't belong in his world, she still thinks that he is out of her league. And yet, when Kesia and Romeo are finally once again together, all the feelings that had been kept hidden for so long and laid dormant in her heart, suddenly wake up and flare to life and Kesia finds that neither she nor Romeo can ignore them any longer. And as both of their hearts open more and more to each other, they start to open up to each other going deeper and deeper into their past and what they have been doing and slowly they realize they realize they have no choice but to give in to the love that surrounds them.

You can see how difficult it is for them. Both Kesia and Romeo had to fight not only their fears, their pasts but also all the circumstances that have surrounded them. It's only when they finally manage to accept everything that they've felt, all the happiness that they've longed for that has all seemed within reach until a new danger threatens to take everything that they've found together away forever.

Now Kesia finds herself at a greater risk then ever before, Romeo fears that he is going to lose her forever and in losing her he'll lose his only chance at true happiness. All that said, their love was stronger, and it was together that Kesia and Romeo realized that they could overcome anything and everything, and that it's only together can they find their own hard fought happily ever after.

The moment I started this book I dived in head first and I just enjoyed it more then I thought I would. I loved how Romeo would do anything and everything and there wasn't an end he wouldn't go to for Kesia; you could see that he would even sacrifice his very own happiness in order to see Kesia happy and that just moved me to tears. It made me love him all that much more.

Kesia has so much strength and courage in her and that just stole my heart. And the way that she faced all her feelings, and she has such grace and nobility in the way that she supports her friend through her most difficult times we see the true depth of Kesia's character and that's truly what captured my heart and soul when it came to Kesia.

Perilously Yours is truly the perfect story to close the Chicago Titans universe. This was a beautiful, emotional, and a truly enduring loving ending and it was everything that we could have hoped to see in this series ending.

I truly love Anise Storm's writing and with the closing of this series I can't wait to see what she starts next.

From the moment I cracked open Perilously Yours, I felt like I’d been pulled into a world where every glance carries weight, every touch threatens to ignite something explosive, and every secret has teeth. Reading this book felt less like observing a story and more like being dropped into the middle of it—heart pounding, breath held, waiting to see who would make the next move.

What struck me first was the chemistry. Not the simple will-they-won’t-they kind—no, this was the kind that coils low in your stomach and makes you lean closer to the page as if proximity alone could reveal their next step. Each interaction felt charged, like the room itself might combust if either character got too bold.

And bold they are.

Storm gives us a pairing that’s equally capable of destroying each other as they are of saving one another, and I lived for that tension. The dynamic is deliciously unbalanced yet intoxicating—full of push and pull, sharp edges and soft underbellies. I could practically feel the danger humming beneath the romance, a constant reminder that love isn’t the only force at play.

What I appreciated most was how the emotional stakes tangled with the physical ones. The characters’ vulnerabilities weren’t just tragic backstory—they shaped every decision, every mistake, every desperate moment where they reached for each other even when they shouldn’t.

I found myself flipping pages with the kind of urgency usually reserved for thrillers. Yet, somehow, Storm never lets the romance drown beneath the suspense. Instead, she weaves them together, creating a story that’s darkly seductive and unexpectedly tender.

If you’re into power-play dynamics, morally gray characters who feel a little too real, and a love story that walks a tightrope above a pit of danger—this book will hit every single craving.

By the time I reached the end, I wasn’t just invested. I was ruined—in the best, most deliciously perilous way.

Final Verdict:
A gripping, intoxicating ride that sinks its claws in early and refuses to let go. Perfect for readers who like their romance fierce, dangerous, and impossible to forget.

Kesia and Romeo were destined to be together from the very beginning. However, fate separated them, but when two souls are truly united, they always find their way back together. And so it was: the two reunited, although they were no longer the same.
He, transformed into a Titan of high society, powerful and admired; she, afraid to reenter his world. Even so, the feelings that had lain dormant for so long began to awaken, and neither could ignore them any longer. Their hearts, little by little, began to open to each other, leaving them no choice but to surrender to love.
It wasn't easy. They had to fight their fears, their pasts, and the circumstances that surrounded them. But once they accepted what they felt, the happiness they longed for seemed within reach until danger threatened to take it all away. Kesia found herself at risk, and Romeo feared losing her forever. Even so, love was stronger, and together they managed to overcome every obstacle, finally achieving their much-deserved happily ever after.
I must admit that I deeply enjoyed this book. There's nothing Romeo wouldn't do for Kesia; he would sacrifice everything to see her happy, and that completely moved me. I loved him deeply. As for Kesia, she captured my heart. Her strength, her courage in facing her feelings, and her nobility in supporting her friend through the most difficult times make her a character who captured my heart.
Ultimately, this story perfectly closes the entire Chicago Titans universe. A beautiful, emotional, and loving ending. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is the fifth book in the series and it can be read out of order but the characters and other books in the series are mentioned. I would read them in order but if you find yourself picking this one up first than you would be okay and you will find yourself wanting to read the rest of the series because it is that good. This book we have the main characters that have grown up with each other and then go their seperate ways. They were not dating growing up or even together, they were friends that had secret crushes on each other. Then after time has past and they have grown up they cross paths again. Will they be able to act upon how they felt all those years ago or has life changed them to where that isn't an option anymore. This book has all the steam and romance that you could ask for in a romance book. There is a little suspense in the book that keeps the story line moving. You do get to see other characters from the series and catch up on what they have been up to since their stories. It is a very quick read as I couldn't put it down. This author always is able to tell a story in a way that helps the reader connect and makes you feel like a fly on the wall. The vivid imagery allows the readers mind to fully process the information and almost have a movie play out before their eyes. It is because of this writing that I am able to sit down and finish this authors books in one sitting. I don't get a lot of anything else done for the day but I am surrounded by an amazing place with amazing characters, that dishes don't seem to matter so much in that time. I can't wait to read more form this author and fall in love with new characters.

What a way to end what has been an amazing series, Book 5 gives us Titan Romeo's story, he is a football star, all of the wealth and noteriety that being a Titan brings, he prides himself on not being held down to one woman like so many of his fellow Titans or brothers as he likes to call them, no he enjoys his reputation as a playboy. Kesia has dedicated her career life to getting the best possible education for the schools where she is principal and she has just won a huge award that was widely publicized much to her surprise being very modest, she receives an offer of an unbelievable opportunity as a principal at a school in Chicago she takes it. On a football event they have professional players coming to do speeches to the students and Kesia can't believe her eyes when Romeo is one of them, when Romeo saw her as she was doing her speech, he too was shocked. They grew up together and had been best friends until they went their separate ways for college and lost touch, Kesia had always had a crush but never told him, Romeo had always had a crush and never told her. This time around would they have the chance to give love a chance? Would the differences in their lives be too much?
I was absolutely captivated from the very first page and couldn't put it down until the oh so beautiful last word. I smiled, I had a tear, I was angry and I was happy and more than once I had to fan myself in the very well written steamy scenes!

Kesia has dedicated her life to helping the youth to improve their lives, but little did she know that this endeavour would send her into the one person she thought she had lost forever. The Crush who never really left her, Romeo. He is one of the “Titans of Chicago” and when they reunite the spark is still there with them.

Romeo has seen his friend match up and vowed to remain single for a long time, but when a blast from his past comes into his present he is lost. Kesia was his crush what feels like a lifetime ago but when they meet up again the spark is still there and she has become the smart, intelligent person driven to help the youth.
Can they come together and have the relationship they both dreamed about.

This is the fifth book in this series and although each story can be read as a standalone, I would really read them all in sequence as there is a line running through them all which would you have a better understanding of the group and story.
I love these stories, and this one does not disappoint, the flow and pace is set just right and drives the story through and holds your interest throughout. The characters are well balanced for each other, and their interactions and chemistry jump off the page and has you rooting for them at every turn.
The story is well developed and each character helps tell the story, I cant wait for more books in the future.

I didn’t expect this one to be so steamy! 😳
I’ve read this author before (Merciless Promise, a dark romance, which I loved), so I thought this one would be milder. But wow, I was wrong. It’s a sports romance filled with passion, heart, and chemistry that jumps off the page.

Romeo and Kesia were childhood friends who lost touch for ten years… and when they meet again, sparks fly everywhere. Their connection feels deep, nostalgic, and intense, like something that was always meant to be rekindled.

I adored the story and the author’s writing. Anise Storm’s characters always feel real: strong, loyal, and full of emotion. I loved Romeo. He’s the kind of hero who loves fiercely and without hesitation. And Kesia is smart, kind, and hardworking, with a heart that always puts others first. But I’ll admit... her self-doubt broke my heart. She kept questioning herself and his love when he had always loved her, always. I just wanted her to see herself the way he did.

And that ending… oh, my heart! I wasn’t expecting that twist at all. It made me ache, but thankfully, everything was set right in the end and their future truly became brighter.

Loved this one. Emotional, steamy, and beautifully written.

Another enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance in this exciting series featuring the Titans of Chicago. Kesia has dedicated her career to improving the life of today’s youth, and having won an award she is offered a school principal job. She never expected that this would lead to her being reunited with her teenage crush, but she believes that as a Titan of Chicago he is out of her league. However, Romeo also had a crush on Kesia as a teenager and for him she’s always been the one that got away. He’s determined not to loose her again despite them living in different worlds, and he wants to make her part of his life.

However, Kesia represents a past that Romeo left behind and for them to have a future together he needs to confront it. Kesia and Romeo have an instant spark when reunited and they soon discover that first love is powerful. Just as their relationship is developing a threat surfaces putting not only their love in danger but also their lives. Once again the author brings the world of the Titans of Chicago vividly to life making me feel fully immersed in the story. The chemistry between Kesia and Romeo sizzles off the page and leads to some steamy scenes. The fast paced storyline has plenty of romance, drama, suspense and plot twists that I was hooked throughout.

Perilously Yours by Anise Storm
4 Stars

Okay, so let’s just start with this: this book is addictive. The kind where you tell yourself, “one more chapter,” and suddenly it’s 2 AM and you’re emotionally invested in people who don’t even exist. Perilously Yours is the perfect blend of romance, attitude, and heat. The chemistry between the main characters? Off-the-charts. It’s the kind of slow-burn tension that keeps building until you’re practically yelling at them to just give in already. The plot moves fast but the heart of the book is really the push-and-pull dynamic between the leads. They’re stubborn, intense, and flawed in the best ways, and watching them let their walls down (even reluctantly) is honestly half the fun.
The author does a fantastic job balancing darker emotional moments with humour, spicy scenes, and real connection. It never feels rushed or forced—it just unfolds naturally and before you know it, you’re way too invested. Her writing style is lush, immersive, and intensely visual. You don’t just read this book—you live it. From heart-pounding action scenes to quiet, breath-catching moments of connection, the pacing and emotion work in perfect harmony.
If you love: romantic suspense, strong characters, and a story that will keep you turning the pages then this one is definitely worth reading. It’s thrilling, sexy and emotional.

This is the fifth installment in the Titans of Chicago series, delivering a satisfying blend of steamy romance and high-stakes drama. This book centers on Kesia, a high school principal dedicated to improving the lives of youth, and Romeo, professional football player who also happens to be Kesia’s long-lost childhood crush. The narrative excels in exploring the powerful, undeniable connection between Kesia and Romeo, who are reunited years after growing up together in a small Texas town. The chemistry is instantaneous and the reunion is a delightful convergence of two people who clearly should have been together all along. The dual timeline of childhood infatuation versus adult connection provides a strong emotional backbone to their relationship. However, the path to their happily-ever-after is anything but smooth. As a Titan, Romeo is dealing with threats and a perilous past he tried to leave behind, forcing Kesia into a dangerous world she knows nothing about. Storm weaves in suspense and danger, keeping the reader hooked as the couple fights both internal resistance and external forces determined to tear them apart. This book ultimately serves as an entertaining, page-turning, and steamy conclusion to the series, ensuring Kesia and Romeo get their well-deserved, hard-fought romantic ending.

I have loved this series from the start and sad to see it’s ending! I’ve been looking forward to Romeo’s book and seeing who finally slayed him though, and it was definitely worth the wait!

Romeo and Kesia have known each other since they were little and grew up together. They were best friends but ended up going their separate ways when they went to different colleges and lost touch. It’s now 10 years later and Kesia is offered a new job that just happens to be in Chicago where Romeo now plays professional football. They get reacquainted and the sparks immediately fly again! I love the best friends to lovers trope, especially since they had both had a crush on each other but never acted on it back then.

There are so many romantic and steamy scenes throughout the book and it’s always great seeing the other Titans and finding out what they’ve been up to. I love that they are all so close and are always there for each other, no matter what. Kesia also has a best friend Cora that she would also do anything for. She finds herself in danger due to said friendship but Romeo and the other Titans all rally together to help. I’m so glad that the last Chicago Titan finally got his happy ending!

Kesia and Romeo were best friends from being babies until they graduated high school. They both had crushes on each other but never acted on it. After graduation, Kesia pursued her dreams of becoming a principal and made huge improvements for the youth of her school, making a difference for those who needed it the most and even winning awards. When she is offered a job in Chicago, she decides to take the leap and move north. She is looking to help the kids and community in a rough local school, not for love - especially one from her past.

Romeo made it big, a star football player and Titan of Chicago - the only single one left and vowing to stay that way. He considers the other 4 suckers, and never imagines he would find anyone who could change his mind. When Kesia returns to become the principal of a local school and turn it around, his childhood crush is jolted into his adult crush. Will he fall like the rest of the Titans?

Kesia and Romeo immediately have their chemistry flair and are interested in seeing if they have a chance to make it work. With Romeo's fame causing issues instead of helping things along, he realizes he has to work to get past things he thought he would never face again if he really wants a chance to be with the woman of his dreams.

Perilously Yours is the fifth book in the Titans of Chicago series by Anise Storm. This series is a spin-off from Titans of Manhattan books; and this time we meet the Chicago Titans.
This is another steamy romantic suspense with a first love/secret crush element, some danger & threats, chemistry, spice, drama, emotion, tension, intrigue, action, violence, challenges, some sensitive subject matter, and a pressing time crunch.
This is Kesia and Romeo’s story - they have a shared history which added depth and complexity to their relationship. Kesia’s dedication to improving the lives of kids was inspiring, and her journey here made her even more relatable. Romeo, now a powerful Titan of Chicago, is a compelling mix of strength and vulnerability – which definitely made their ‘reunion’ more emotional and rewarding. The chemistry between them is electric, and their struggles to reconcile their past with their present is portrayed quite authenticity, but not without care.
This book is not just a romance - it’s a story about healing, forgiveness, and rediscovering oneself.
Happy reading!

Kesia and Romeo grew up in Texas together as best friends, each secretly crushing on the other. Unfortunately, after they graduate high school, they go their separate ways to college—Kesia to Northwest and Romeo to Ohio State. Kesia, dedicated to her career in education, becomes a teacher and later a principal at her hometown high school. However, when she wins a national award for her work, she catches the attention of another school that needs her help. Fast forward to Chicago and the start of a new school year: Kesia is hosting her first pep rally for the football team and must thank the guest speakers. Little does she know that one of them is none other than Titan of Chicago, her first and only love, Romeo Seaton. Reunited after a decade apart, Romeo and Kesia slowly rekindle their friendship, but things heat up quickly. But is Romeo truly ready to give up his bachelor lifestyle? This is the fifth book in the Titans of Chicago series, and each one is absolutely amazing. This one is no different. The author’s talent is incredible. Once I pick up a book, I can't put it down until I finish. An absolute must-read!

Perilously Yours wrapped up the Titans of Chicago and I couldnt think of a better book to do that. I loved reading about Romeo and Kesia’s second chance.

Romeo and Kesia were best friends from the time they were babies until they left for college. Together with 3 other people, they were known in town to every one as “The Troublesome Five”
They had feelings for eachother but neither of them ever made the move to make it known.

They haven’t seen eachother in a decade and now fate has thrown them both into the same city at the same time when they run into eachother at the high school Kesia is currently the principal for. All the old feelings come rushing back. Romeo is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it but, things won’t be so easy for him when it comes to Kesia. His status with the Titans and with his career means nothing to her. If anything, him being known by so many might make it harder for him to land this girl.

These two are perfect for eachother. There are a few bumps in the road ahead for them but hopefully, these two could come out on top. Will Romeo be the next one to be slayed or is Kesia just temporary?

What a great ending to a great series!

Sometimes the past comes back in best way get comfortable. Romeo and Kesia were childhood friend life separated them but neither forgot about the other he was her crush but always just out of reach. Fast forward the reunite as strangers a decade later him a famous football star and she is an award-winning educator it was always something there but as adults it is so much more. Kesia is all about helping it is part of her make up and Romeo sexy as all get out with a reputation of being a lady’s man proceeding him with no interest in building a relationship with any of them. The moment he meets up with his childhood friend everything shifts in place for the two of them they work well together, she makes him realize what has been missing from his life, the longer they are around each other the stronger the magnetic pull between them grows but is it enough can their world mix, will she be able to deal with his reputation, will she get what’s needed for the children, and can they find their way to happiness?

I have read a few books from this author and she always keeps me on my toes. This is the fifth and final book of the amazing titans of Chicago series and what an ending. I would read these books in order because there are previous characters in this story as well. I was hooked right from this beginning and I could not stop until the end. It only took me a few hours to finish my favorite books of the year. I’m so sad to see this series end but I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Kesia loves her job. She loves helping the youth in her school. Kesia is a principal and her job can be hard. Kesia didn’t know that her job was going to put her back into her childhood crush. The last book in the Titans of Chicago Series was amazing! You can read this as a standalone, but I promise you all 5 are worth the read! Anise Storm never fails to knock it out of the park, I haven’t read one book from her that I did not enjoy!

Kesia and Romeo were childhood best friends, however after graduation they went their separate ways and lost touch. Romeo was a star football player in Chicago and a Titan while Kesia was a high school principal a few hours outside of Chicago. Kesia was presented with a job offer at a school in Chicago that she could not pass up. They both had serious crushes on each other back in their younger days, however neither chose to act on it for multiple reasons.
Crossing paths again was not something either had planned , as they both lived extremely different lives. However, fate had other plans.

Will Kesia and Romeo rekindle their friendship? Will they fall back in love or will the paths they are currently on hinder anything more than just a quick catch up with an old friend?

I enjoyed this easy romantic read. Spicy, friends-to-lovers storyline that reunites two childhood friends after their lives have taken a drastic turn, but ultimately teaches that people don't always change fundamentally when circumstances of career change.
I had not read any of Storm's other Titan books, but sped through Kesia and Romeo's romance in less than 24 hours. Romeo, the star running back of Chicago's NFL team and Kesia, a principal of a local Chicago public school on the brink of closing, reunite after 10 years apart due to going to different colleges and various life events where they didn't keep in touch after high school. One thing leads to another and both realize that there has always been a spark between them and despite the vast difference in their social and financial standings now, they decide to give it a shot and see if there is something there.
I will be looking out for the previous books to fill in some gaps in the storyline brought up by side characters, but overall I love these books.

This is book 5 in the Titans Of Chicago series. This is a romance suspense and as with the other books in the series it is filled with danger, chemistry that sizzles, emotion, action and so much more. As well as our characters in this book being a first love couple even though at the time neither of them would admit it.
Even though this is book 5 in this series it can be read as a standalone as they focus on different couples. This is Kesia and Romeo’s story.

Kesia and Romeo have a shared past both of them hid feelings for each other and life took them in separate directions.
Now life has brought them back together and Romeo is determined that this time he won't lose her.
Kesia can't believe the have a chance together, his fame and his reputation makes her feel a little insecure. Could you find a way to overcome this and give them the chance they have wanted all along?
However things aren't ever simple and when danger lurks the couple could be heading into something that neither of them can survive.

Kismet plays a role in bringing Kesia and Romeo together!
They may have grown up together, but their hidden desires for each other stayed hidden except for that one kiss that lasted while they each went their separate ways for college and careers. Yet time waits for no one when Romeo and some teammates go to a school as part of their outreach and who should be the principal, but Kesia his long lost love and the feelings were the same for Kesia. Yet somethings change over time and Kesia is a behind the scenes kind of gal, where Romeo is front and center in front of the TV. Romeo won’t take no for an answer to rekindle their hidden desires, and Kesia is drawn in to something she only ever dreamed about. But how will it all play out when Romeo’s future in Chicago is not certain and Kesia’s career is here? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. It is a series that keeps getting better and better with every installment. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series which are just as great as this one. It will also help you enjoy this author’s creative writing skills that make their characters full of heart and soul. This is a story about Romeo and Kesia. Their story is one of a past and present relationship colliding. When they are reunited their relationship heats up but in order to move forward a past must be reconciled. What happens with these two you don’t want to miss. They have great chemistry and their attraction is off the charts. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout which for me made their story easy to read. Their story is fast paced, engaging and hard to put down. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I really enjoyed reading this story and I highly recommend it.

Kesia and Romeo were childhood friends, best friends. When they graduated high school, their friend group all went in different directions, none really keeping up with each other. Romeo went to Ohio State to play football, a couple of friends went to Oklahoma, one went to California, and Kesia went to Northwestern. Ten years after high school, Romeo has established himself as a Titan in Chicago, where he plays for the local football team. Kesia had been working in Peoria but recently got hired at a high school in Chicago.

During a pep rally, several of the local pro-football players come by to talk to the students. Romeo was one of the players. Romeo and Kesia reconnect. Each fighting their own internal battles about what they felt back in high school and how they feel now. Kesia must also learn what it is like to date a Titan.

This one was good. Not as good as some of the Titan books but still good. Always a great series.

Oooo lordy what delicious peril this one was. I will instantly pick up every Anise Storm book I see because duh. She is a mastermind of all the dark and taunting things your soul desires. This one was the perfect last day of quiet before Thanksgiving break for my boys and I couldn’t have dreamt of a better way to spend my day than curled up with it. From start to finish the tension holds you by the neck as you remember to breathe between turning the pages. Years have passed for Kesia and Romeo, but the fire never died that they held for the other. Nothing is meaningless and everything matters. The glances, the innocent touches, the silence and the words.
If you need a day of escape into a world where the suspense has you ready to scream but the “moments” leave you speechless this is the read for you. I cannot wait to see what the author will come out with next, but I promise I will see you there.

Childhood friends turned strangers, Romeo and Kesia reunite after a decade apart. He’s now a high society football star, and she’s an award-winning educator with a heart of gold.

Their chemistry is off the charts sizzling!

Romeo would do anything for Kesia, and she’s brave, loyal, and full of heart. I adored them both.

But love isn’t easy when fear, fame, and danger threaten to tear them apart.....

This is book 5 in Storm's Titans of Chicago and a wonderful addition and conclusion to the Titans series. I have been captivated and addicted to this series from the very beginning and I'm so sad to see it ending. This book focus' on main characters are Romeo and Kesia. I love this second chance romance where these two grew up together, but college took them down different paths only to reconnect after years apart. No longer the young people they once were they have life experiences that have changed who they are but the connection between then is undeniable. Well written and full of romance and steamy chemistry not to mention suspense and so much more. I adored this book and these characters. I don't know how Storm will top this series but I'm excited to see what she'll write next!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Romeo and Kesia’s journey felt real — two people who drifted apart, lived separate lives, and suddenly find themselves face-to-face again with all that old fire waiting right under the surface. The way their past and present collide made the story addictive. I loved the mix of nostalgia, second-chance ache, and the grown-up heat that comes when two people finally stop running from what’s always been there.

The Chicago setting, the emotional pull, the “oh no, here we go again” sparks… it all worked together so seamlessly. And the chemistry? Straight-up sizzle.

This book gave me all the friends-to-lovers, second-chance vibes I crave, wrapped in the intensity that only this series delivers. A beautiful, fiery, satisfying world I’ve loved!

Highly recommend reading the entire Titans series!!
