Project Switch

Rate this book
What if the richest man in town had to live like the rest of us?

And what if the woman replacing him had nothing to lose?

Raya Hayes is tattooed, broke, and way too used to surviving on scraps. So when she’s offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to trade lives with billionaire Griffin Locke as part of a high-stakes social experiment, she signs on the dotted line without a second thought.

One year. His mansion. His money. His job.

But nothing is as easy—or glamorous—as it looks from the outside. While Raya is juggling board meetings, ruthless executives, and secrets buried deep in corporate files, Griff is discovering what it really means to live paycheck to paycheck.

The switch was supposed to teach them both a lesson.

They never expected to find a connection that could change everything.

And when old enemies resurface, trust is tested, and sparks fly in all the wrong (and right) directions, one thing becomes clear: Sometimes the life you’re forced into… is the one you were meant to find.

Perfect for fans of slow-burn tension, found family, and gritty billionaire swaps with bite.

A moody, bold, and addictive debut from Amisty.

Okay this was so much fun! 4.5 stars rounded up! The banter, the Witt. The depth of the discussion within this book without feeling too heavy?! So well done! The author did a fantastic job encapsulating real life for us “broke babes” and also what’s it’s like for rich people in both positive and negative ways. This book offers so much more than just a switch story, there was mystery and a little bit of thriller in there too! I loved the depth to the characters (especially the pups!) this is Amistys debut novel, with more to come! I would def recommend this book to someone wanting to have a bit more conversation about the pros and cons of financial freedoms, injustices in the workplace, deeper connections to friends (think found family), while also enjoying a little chaos and mystery to it all. It was heartfelt and heart warming, and heart pounding all at once! Can’t wait to see what Amisty comes up with next!

The characters? UGH beautiful and they mesh together so well it made my heart so happy *school girl giggling*

The emotional depth? Amisty does an AMAZING job especially with the themes of class and humanity.

The whole story was so heartfelt and I kept smiling throughout. Also the drama that happens?! Tea.

Loved this book so much and I'm so excited for book 2!!

Amisty Smith killed it with this book! Wow! I loved this story and the concept around two people who live complete opposite lifestyles having to switch lives for a whole year and experience something they never knew or could imagine. The idea of walking a mile in someone's shoes so carefully laid out. Like what? This story really taught me so much about not defining myself on the numbers in my bank account but how I treat people in spite of it. With the seemingly neverending poverty epidemic in America, how can I make it an easier place to be? by showing kindness and empathy every where I go to everyone, no matter the status.
The romance was subtle and rich all at the same time. The yearning that these two had was so unexpected but had me squealing the whole time.

10/10 recommend this read!!

Great

A very immersive and detailed story about socio-economic divide. I love how the characters had normal struggles unique to their situations but still overcame and learned from it.
