I had a hard time getting into this one. I ADORED Crave, Covet and Consume. They are some of my all time favorites. Unfortunately I felt the abrupt departure from the previous main characters made it disjointed.
This book was ridiculous at times. I really should have avoided reading this but by the time I realized that this book didn't involve the same people from the other books it was too late. The one thing I will say I did like was how realistic it was at times because if people were known to have superpowers they really would react that way.
The book was ok however it didn't really have anything to do with the previous books. It could have easily been a stand alone book. I only read the entire book thinking that it would include characters from the first 3 books which it didn't.
It's a great spin-off. I enjoyed it very much. Could not put it down, and I could not imagine what would happen next it was all surprises. It did end too quickly. I wanted more, but the ending was good.
Another great book from this Clann this time focusing on Jim Williams nephew Hayden the cousin of Dylan and his childhood friend Tarah. A civil war breaks out in the US threatening to consume the whole world, there are outcasts part of the Clann descendants witches who attack the government and cause a war to break out exposing the world to descendants. They get rounded up and placed in prison camps Tarah isn’t a descendant but sympathises with them and tries to help which leads her and her dad to get placed in a prison camp. Hayden with a group of outcasts stage a daring prison break and rescue Tarah and every other prisoner in the camp forced to go on the run they make the dangerous journey to Hayden’s grandmothers Letty home where she helps them build a village on some land to start a new safe life hidden from the world. I loved the chemistry between Hayden and Tarah, I loved the characters of Bud, Pamela, Cassie and Mike, but Steve was a douchebag even when Hayden was risking everything to help his family he couldn’t be grateful and the fact that he would sink so low and make people sick and die of illness while they were trying to build their village showed his pettiness. I loved the compassion that both Hayden and Tarah have even at their young age of eighteen. I adored Little Cassie telling Mike not to cheat on their game and her nickname for Hayden Hay Hay hilarious. I actually wasn’t sure if I would like this book because it’s not like the first three with Tristan and Savannah but it did have a connection through family with Dylan and Jim Williams so it’s in the same time period clearly. It did make me wonder how things were like for Emily and Dylan and all the descendants in Jacksonville and what the vampires thought of the events unfolding. But i enjoyed the different storyline while still being connected to the series. A very enjoyable book to read very emotional it made me feel sorry for them having to go on the run with nothing and give up everything in their lives to start a new and hopefully safe new life. A very intriguing book to read
This book was pretty good, but I was disappointed because I thought it was a continuation of Savannah and Tristan's story. But this book takes you on a different journey with The Clann realm where the world is in an upheaval because The Clann's powers are shown to the world but it is by outcast members who don't know how to control their magic. There have been several accidents by The Descendants (non Clann Magic Users) and now all Clann and Descendants are enemy number one. Tarah is neither The Clann or a Descendant but she wants to help a group that has been thrown into a camp escape when her father is taken as well with their group. She does so with the help of Hayden, who is apart of The Clann and also her former childhood best friend. Together they try to save the magical group with all the odds stacked against them.
The story itself, trying to get a hunted group to safety and all the trials and tribulations they endured was interesting. But the love story between Tarah and Hayden really felt like a repeat of Savannah and Tristan. Minus the complication of a Vampire/Clann relationship. And because of this I'm only giving it 3.75 Stars. Overall The Clann Series was pretty decent so I would definitely be up for reading more by Melissa Darnell.
with the Clann being thrown into the spotlight, the world started forming plenty of anti-clann to get rid of them. escaped from his political father, Hayden brought Tarah along on his venture of rescuing a group of people who had magical abilities from imprisonment. the government were killing them off, uncaring towards their wellbeing. having successfully rescued them instantly made them his responsibilities.
last book into the series was equally captivating compared to the previous installments. Hayden was struggling to fight off the mindset he grown up having, responding to his father's expectation at all times. after much tries, Tarah finally got him to break out of his own prison, making him a leader that turned out to impress us so much. his growth definitely had me rooted for him despite the repetitive struggle that he went through. as for Tarah, her desire to rush into danger made her an interesting character to watch.
I loved the previous series. But this book, i dont even know why is it called the clann #4, capture. Because NO old characters are included and the story isn't even in jaksonville.
This story begins in a weird manner. No proper introduction whatsoever. The ending is even worse. There's no conclusion and doesn't counter the problems present at the beginning of the book. No start and no ending.
I haven't actually read Capture but I've loved all the other books in The Clann Series. What I don't get though is why Melissa Darnell completely overhauled everything and got new characters? Hayden and Tarah sound pretty similar to Tristan and Savannah. I guess I'll have to read it and see how good it really is!:)
I was not happy with this book at all, I loved the first 3 a lot with the story line vampire and witch and now this book is all different characters and a different story line only about witches. It would have been better if the other characters got brought into this book. Very disappointment..
