I’ll admit I haven’t read all of the stories in this box set yet but here are my thoughts on the ones I have read: DIABLO SPRINGS by Erin Quinn Two stories in one. Will a curse from the past give Gracie and Reilly a future? If it doesn’t kill them first. VAMPIRE REBORN by Caridad Pineiro This is a short action packed story that I thoroughly enjoyed but if you haven't read Die For Love you may not get as much out of it. Ryder and Diana are dealing with a lot of changes. But what doesn't change is their love for each other. SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE by Chris Marie Green Lilly has a problem. She wakes every morning with no memory of who she is. This is actually a good thing for the reader as we find out together why this is and what mysteries lie in her past. There is action, adventure, danger, magic, mystery, and a bit of romance. And while this is a spin-off of the fantastic Vampire Babylon series this novel stands well on its own. I look forward to following Lilly as she learns and grows. If this series is anything like Vampire Babylon we are in for a heck of a ride. MORE THAN FIENDS by Maureen Child Funny, funny story about a woman coming into her Demon slaying powers. IMMORTAL POSSESSION by Cassi Carver This is a terrific start to a new series by “new to me” author Cassi Carver. You can bet I will be checking out future installments. The world building is fantastic and the characters make me want to revisit. WILD NIGHTS WITH A LONE WOLF by Elisabeth Staab I love werewolf stories and this is a super hot one with a surprising twist.
12 excellent tales for this Halloween season. This bundle is filled with the supernatural, ghosts, vampires, shape shifters and demons. I enjoyed all of these great reads. They were easy to get lost in and get me in the perfect mood for some Halloween fun. The stories are fast passed, the characters drew me in and they were sexy. I enjoyed them all.
This book came out at the perfect time. I found myself getting drawn into the Halloween spirit and actually was scared by some of these hauntingly romantic stories. If you love or even like paranormal romances this series of books are exactly what you need. Literally a book for everyone in here. I usually stay away from things like this because I am always afraid the stories will be short but omg I was amazed I received a full story from each author. Whoever came up with the idea of this combination of authors working together should get a raise because each book was amazing. What's also great is usually when I think paranormal I think of shifters but no no no there were vampires, shape shifters, spirts and any other sexy thing that can go bump in the dark! Hot, romantic, enduring, heartbreakingly beautiful! I can go on and on and on but I will say great bargain, great books, great job!
Diablo Springs = Gracey and Reilly come full circle as history repeats itself and they must reunite to save not only their child but their hearts. This is one of the books that amazed me the most. I usually hate flash back stories, when you hear about the past to get to the future but this book was wonderful! If writing a combo pack like this was a relay race, this was the book that should always lead the pack. I found myself as interested in the past as I was actually looking forward to the stories of the future. Great job Erin.
Vampire reborn= Who doesn't love a story of a man coming back from near dead to protect his family. What I love is that yes he was strong but he was also vulnerable and did exactly what he had to do, even befriend the most unexpected people to protect his loved ones.
Shadow Fall= Annabella uses the power of dance to unknowingly bring people from other dimensions. Luckily for her she gets the sexy, selfless Custo from heaven so he can come and save the day. Unluckily for her she also brings a dark wolf that wants to dominate, stalk and enslave her over as well. Add in hot love scenes, funny word play between Annabella and Custo, the heartbreak of life lost well before its time, and a friendship that not even money can buy and you have got a hit!
NIGHT ANGEL by Lisa Kessler= Hauntingly beautiful. It shows that two people that have lost so much can create something so beautiful.
SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE by Chris Marie Green: 3 words HOT HOT HOT!
SHADOW AT TWILIGHT by Mary Leo: Nothing stronger than a love than can bring you back from the after life!
MORE THAN FIENDS by Maureen Child= Super funny, timeless, loved every second of this book
IMMORTAL POSSESSION by Cassi Carver: I love an underdog and the men that stand by their sides believing in them every step of the way! What many may consider a weakness can actually be untapped potential.
FOREVER ROSE by Janet Wellington: Unexpected journeys into the past to stop a man focused on revenge from making the worst mistake of his life and then getting the added bonus of falling in love...priceless
WELCOME HOME, VAMPIRE by Theresa Meyers: Every woman needs a man like Cole in their lives to save the day!!!!
VAMPIRE MAGIC (Blood Genie, books 1 and 2) by Sheri Whitefeather: Nothing better than seeing the beauty in people that they cant even see in themselves. This was not only a great book but a great message.
WILD NIGHTS WITH A LONE WOLF by Elisabeth Staab: daring and sexy who could ask for more!
4.5 stars-I have only read IMMORTAL POSSESSION by Cassi Carver--

~~~~~
REVIEW: 4.5 stars--IMMORTAL POSSESSION is the latest adult, paranormal /UF release from author Cassi Carver focusing on the men and women who work for the government’s Immortal Bounty division. Following an apocalypse known as The Great Collision, that rendered most of the world with some sort of supernatural power, there are others who have become the victim of a mutating leukemia. This is Dr. Evelyn Vale and Commander Jesse Hayes’s storyline.
The focus follows Evelyn as she is finally accepted into the government’s Immortal Bounty program but what Evelyn doesn’t know is the reason for her current hire. As a human who is easily possessed by spirits, Evelyn will be used in a plan to reveal a supernatural body-trafficking ring where she will become the prey in a dangerous mission. Enter Jesse Hayes-an Immortal Bounty Sentinel Commander and the man who will protect Evelyn with his very life. As Jesse and Evelyn begin their undercover operation, they will soon discover that there is more to Evelyn power’s than anyone could know. With Evelyn’s lack of experience, Immortal Bounty will call in a Jesse’s former and now deceased partner to possess the body of Evelyn Vale.
The relationship between Evelyn and Jesse begins as co-workers to friends but quickly escalates to lovers as Evelyn and Jesse must go undercover as a married couple. The sex scenes are provocative and intense. Our couple’s developing love for one another will place Jesse in the position to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. A series of dead and mutilated bodies all point to an affluent gated community, and our couple will begin the arduous task of uncovering the who and the why.
The secondary characters include several members of Jesse’s Immortal Bounty team including a sexy canine shifter and a woman who calls spirits back from the beyond. We are introduced to Jesse’s superior Steward Clark- a man who runs The Immortal Bounty division, and a man with secrets of his own.
IMMORTAL POSSESSION is a story with action, mystery, suspense and romance. The reader is pulled into a storyline where fantasy meets reality; where the need for life ever lasting places everyone on a collision course with a powerful spirit.
Cassi Carver’s world of the supernatural is emotional, sometimes heartbreaking and passionate. The possibility of science fiction becoming science reality is an all too precarious concept.
Diablo Springs was a strange one to comprehend at first cause it shifted to the past. I felt all the characters as usual, it felt like I was there with them looking through their eyes. Suspense, heartache, and closure sum this one up. Vampire Reborn my kind if suspense and need to read the beginning of Diana and Ryder's story, but enjoyed their story so far. Hope they find who killed Richard and what happens with Ben. Shadow Fall it had me on edge wondering if Custo and Annabella were gonna be together? in the end they made it through and I am very happy. "Death will never part us". Night Angel was another on the end if my seat at the end. I wish there was more with Colin and Juliana. I too teared up with this one like I did in Shadow Fall. Shadows till Sunrise started out weird but I eventually caught on. It was such a sad story, waking up and having no memory. Lilly got past her fears and got her soulmate in the end and like most stories this one tugged the heartstrings in the end. Shadows at twilight not my usual kind of story (no sex), but I read it in hope for Hilly and Dillon. pulled at the heartstrings, when Dillon woke up I too hoped he'd be the Dillon that was his essence but he wasn't :-(. it took him months to reach out finally to Hilly and that made up for it in the end. More than friends Good old fashion demon slaying. Caught between two men, one mortal and one demon both causing feelings for Cassie tough decision? A new twist to demon hunter ( demon duster) sounds like a chore....lol Immortal Possession loved Evelyn and in ways I see myself with the human part of her. Jesse finally finds the one that makes him whole, they are meant to be even with the obstacles. drew me in and I felt each one's pain and happiness. Forever Rose I like Taylor Rose wasn't sure of what was happening but came to the same conclusion as her. knowing that while she slept Jackson was shot dead in the past but shows up in her present was the best ending. Welcome home vampire too short but had adventure. when a woman loves unconditionally you know you're meant to be together. The Vampire Pendant & The Vampire Bracelet were great even though short, a great story line. one is to show that beauty is within and the other one shows that what you want is not always the person you're with but the one that comes along. Wild nights with a lone wolf hot and heavy with excitement makes for good reading. loved the characters especially shifters. All in all I really enjoyed this set of books even the short novellas.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review. I read all of these stories except one, Vampire Reborn by Caridad Pineiro. Only for the fact that it is not the first in the series and I was lost reading the book.
Diablo Springs by Erin Quinn: My first read by this author and a different read for me. I really enjoyed this story, it was a great ghost story. I recommend this book.
Vampire Reborn by Caridad Pineiro: I did not read
Shadow Fall by Erin Kellison: I love Erin Kellison and she is the reason I read this anthology. What a great mystery paranormal book. One that kept you reading and on your toes. I would read more in this series.
A Shadow At Twilight by Mary Leo: My first read by this author. A great read! Loved the story line.
More Than Fiends by Maureen Child: My first read by this author. This was my favorite read in this anthology. At times I wanted to kick Cassidy into gear, but her humor and take no crap from anyone won me over. I will be reading other books from this author.
Immortal Possession by Cassi Carver: My first read by this author. I loved this story! Great twists and turns! Kept me reading and on my toes. Will read more by this author.
Forever Rose by Janet Wellington: My first read by this author. A different read for me, but was a wonderful ghost story! Was one of my favorites in this anthology. I do not read historical romances, but I loved this story. Great story line!
Welcome Home Vampire by Theresa Meyers: My first read by this author. Great short story. Hot and great story line. I will be reading more by this author, to learn more about this story line.
Vampire Magic (Blood Genie, books 1 and 2) by Sheri Whitefeather: My first read by this author. I really enjoyed book 1. I loved the characters. Book 2 was okay. I did not care for the characters as much. Great reads though.
Wild Nights With A Lone Wolf by Elisabeth Staab: A good book. The characters were thrown together without much chemistry. The chemistry built up in the book, but the beginning was not believable to me. A good book, full of twists and turns. A great page turner.
Please note that this review is only for the novella Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf by Elisabeth Staab.
I am a huge fan of Elisabeth Staab's fangtabulous Chronicles of Yavn series and was beyond thrilled when I was given a review copy of her novella Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf. While I'm still bummed that my Heroes with fangs have come to a close, I'm excited about this new world that Ms. Staab created.
Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf was everything I've come to expect from an Elisabeth Staab story. It was action-packed, super smexy, snarky, and hooked me from page one.
Asher Hughes is a hotter than hell, lone wolf who severed ties with his old pack due to the illegal nature of their business. He went on to create a life for himself, even though he gets dragged back into pack business on occasion. As much as he would love to keep his distance and/or tell them all to frak off, they're family.
Agent Sherri Walker is relocating due to issues at work. I won't go into detail as it's important to Sherri's character development, but I will say that Sherri was betrayed by someone she trusted and is now getting some much needed R&R before starting her new job. Last thing she expected was to end up bringing a stranger back to her hotel room, to have her naughty way with. Sherri has read about and researched werewolves, but she had never met one until Ash walked into her life. She may not have been looking to get involved in werewolf politics, but she ended up right in the middle of it.
The world building and character development in Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf were both really strong, Ash is unbelievably hot *swoons*, Sherri was snarky and fun, the smexy times are aplenty, the dedicated was spot on (cause David Gandy is the shite!), and the novella left me wanting more in this world.
Ash and Sherri were great together and I hope that we will get more of them. I'd love to see how their budding relationship plays out and if they can make it work. I'd also really, really like more of Jett and Kyle. I give Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf 4 stars.
The storylines are different and fascinating for all 12 ebooks. The characters are engaging and you will keep reading until you have read every book.
Diablo Springs by Erin Quinn The story is about ghosts and a curse and unbelievable romance. The characters are all fantastic and have you turning page after page until you finish. Ooh just what you want to read at Halloween.
Vampire Reborn by Caridad Pineiro This is the first book I have read by this author but definitely not my last. The main characters are very much in love. Vampire Ryder Latimer is lonely and doesn't feel he fits in the Vampire world. Diana Reyes is a FBI agent and has fought alone with Ryder for their love. Will their love and romance survive the darkness that treats their lives.
Shallow Fall by Erin Kellison This story has lots action, sacrifice and mystery. Custo Santovari accepts pain as he saves his best friend. His mate Annabella calls to him. Annabella is afraid of images she gets from another wold of a golden hero. This a fantastic read.
Night Angel by Lisa Kessler Colin Flynn is a immortal Night Walker and Juliana Duffy is a deaf piano player who owns a florist shop. But she dreams of two men one is a customer and one is a handsome stranger who will she choose.
My first reviews are for Vampire Reborn by Caridad Pineiro and Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf by Elisabeth Staab. I look forward to reading many more stories in this set and will update my review as I complete each story
5 STARS - VAMPIRE REBORN by Caridad Pineiro
Vampire Ryder Latimer and FBI Agent Diana Reyes have been to hell and back but the worst could be still ahead of them as something is happening to Ryder and no one seems to have the answers.
If you have read this series it has already sunk its teeth into you and your hooked and if you haven't started you are truly missing an amazing series.
4.5 STARS - WILD NIGHTS WITH A LONE WOLF by Elisabeth Staab
Sherri Walker is a good agent but after her last boyfriend betrayed her and almost ended her career Sherri is on forced leave before taking up her new post in Phoenix.
Asher Hughes is a lone wolf choosing to separate himself from his vicious father and the Los Lobos Muertos pack he keeps to his land but that doesn't the pack won't still cause him trouble.
Sherri first crosses paths with Asher when she arrives in town and Asher cross paths again at the bar where he is having a heated discussion with another man. Seeing Sherri, Ash finds himself drawn to her and it is not long before their attraction to each other causes Sherri to forget her inhibitions and invite Ash to her room. But will that be her second mistake because soon she will find herself kidnapped by his former pack and Ash will be her only way out but at what cost. Can Ash keep Sherri safe and will Sherri still be there when this nightmare is over.
Immortal Possession by Cassi Carver- I was hooked and intrigued by this one from the start. It just kept getting more and more fascinating.
It was such an interesting world. People have developed all of these different mutations. Some have horns or wings. Others can shape-shift and so much more!
I really like Evelyn. At times she could be overtly sensitive but she's lived a very hard life full of struggles. She's still an incredibly strong person. I love her sense of humor.
And Jesse, he's definitely swoon worthy. He comes off as this big bad alpha male but he has a big heart. I adored the banter between him and Evelyn. The chemistry between them was really hot too!
The secondary characters were always very fun and interesting too. I hope that some of them get stories too in the future.
It was just a great story with a very fast pace and a great romance. I loved the authors writing style. I did not want to put this one down.
So far, I have only read Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf by Elisabeth Staab, and it was phenomenal! Ash is a great hero. He is super rough and tough, but has his soft qualities too. Everything was very well balanced and I really enjoyed him. I thought Sherri was great too! It was cool to see her take a walk on the wild side. One of my favorite things about this story was how you could tell Ash and Sherri each had a complicated history. They are mentioned in the book, but do not overshadow the craziness that the two experience in just a couple of days. Everything was exciting...the story, the characters, the dialogue, the body language. It was all done very well! I really really really hope this is the beginning of a series. I'm not ready to let these characters go just yet. I received this story in exchange for an honest review, but I'm planning on purchasing the box set.
What a great bundle. 12 excellent supernatural stories, with vampires, ghosts, demons and shapeshifters just in time for the Halloween season. If you enjoy paranormal romance this collection will have something for you. The stories are very well written, all very different, some very sexy and some not, just heart warming. I loved them all. You can just pick which supernatural creature and story you are in the mood for, then sit back and enjoy. Great!
This story grips you from the beginning. Yes she is still running from and hunting the Meratoliage when the find her but there are other paranormal activities that are included in this book. Every night when Lilly slept the boots "healed" her and when she awoke the next night she had no memory of the day before. Not long after Phillipe met Lilly he attempted to turn her over to her family for the money. To say he had a change of heart is an understatement. Another good read
12) WILD NIGHTS WITH A LONE WOLF by Elisabeth Staab
What happens when a FBI agent meets a werewolf? You will want to read this entertaining story to see what happens.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed Seductive Supernaturals. Found several new authors to read and had to go and get the rest of the stories that had others in the series. If you like vampires, ghosts, werewolves you will enjoy this set.
This story has a haunted feel with a lot of history throughout the story, I think if the history was given right off the back the story itself would have flowed better, it seemed to jump around too much and kind of lost me here and there, I would have liked to know a little bit more in the beginning to really fall into the story. I think the story was intriguing and has a lot of twists and turns and was somewhat interesting. 3 stars
VAMPIRE REBORN by Caridad Pineiro
I'm not sure about this story, I thought it was too empty, parts being glazed over or missing. I'm not sure but I had a hard to finishing the story. I thought the idea was great, I liked Diana and Little Charlie. Ryder is a sexy vampire who is changing and I liked his humanity but again parts seemed lost. I don't think it flowed well and didn't keep my attention. 2.5-3 stars
SHADOW FALL by Erin Kellison
I thought this story started off great, very mysterious and intriguing and almost wow then it wentdown a little from there, then further from there. Very little grip you action, very little to grab your attention and keep it, had high hopes when I started it but it was difficult to get through. 3 stars
NIGHT ANGEL
Sexy as hell cover! This story is quit fascinating the characters are different, not your normal paranormal..lol.., very creatively written. It's a little slow in parts but the intriguing mysterykept me reading. I thought it turned into a magnificent story of wonder, of evil and the many things in between. Love and the ultimate sacrifice took this story to a new level, great story 4.5 stars
SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE by Chris Marie Green
Very mysterious and intriguing, the author captures your attention early. I think some parts are a little drawn out but over all very interesting story with twists and turns and very fascinating magic. I thought the writer created a very unique story and I enjoyed the characters very much. 4 stars
A SHADOW AT TWILIGHT by Mary Leo
Another nice cover! This story was well written. I enjoyed the intrigue and mystery, I loved all the ghostly beings and Dillon and Hilly. I love how Dillon is with his grandmother, how he loves life and being silly with her and I love Hilly and her desire to please Dillion even though she thinks he's a ass. Dillion's father is a complete ass, I'm glad Hilly stood up to him. I thought the story was creative and very unique, it was flat a little in the middle I thought it could havebeen more but the story itself was a very enjoyable read. 4-4.5 stars
I will be updating this review as I read more of the tales in this awesome collection:
My first review is for Night Angel by Lisa Kessler This was a captivating addition to Lisa's Night Walker series! Night Walkers aren't vampires though they share some of the same characteristics as well as being Mayan gods AND shifters. All of her Night Walkers stories ROCK!
Night Angel is Colin's and Juliana's story. I'm so glad that Colin has gotten his own story, a tale of healing and love. Colin is our classic tortured hero having returned to Ireland a broken man after an altercation with a night demon. Juliana confuses and inspires him; She's a deaf pianist who is magically gifted and thriving despite the adversities she's suffered. He cannot understand how her disability has not disheartened her as his has him. The mystic emerald isle's idyllic peacefulness provides the perfect setting for the tale. When the picturesque landscape is disturbed by a sinister mythical villain who is preying on the villagers, Colin must find a way to stop him and save Juliana.
I was absolutely enthralled with the chemistry between Colin and Juliana... sexy, sweet and very romantic. Juliana is a very strong, independent woman and I greatly admired her spirit. Colin's despair was palpable as he felt helpless and a fraction of what he had been; My heart went out to him. The Celtic links enhanced the mystery and mystique. Lisa's writing just flows and she engages the reader with every word.
I would highly recommend this story - and all of the Night Walker books - to anyone who loves paranormal romances. Lisa's books are all must-reads for me.
DIABLO SPRINGS by Erin Quinn: This was an interesting story. I wish that the history part had been first or last, not spread through out the story itself. The back in forth in time was a little annoying, but all in all, this was an interesting story. The twists and turns made it a great haunting tale. I really enjoyed it!
VAMPIRE REBORN by Caridad Pineiro: To be honest, I felt like I was missing something. Reading this story, I felt lost. If this is a series, then maybe this shouldn't be in a box set. If it's not part of a series, or the first, well, it just didn't start out well. To be honest, I found myself skipping over lots of parts. Sure the idea of Vampires with humanity was interesting, I just don't feel it was well executed!
SHADOW FALL by Erin Kellison: This story actually bored me. It started out great, but as I got further into it, things just slowed down. The action was far in between and that was the only good parts in it. Sure it seemed cool to have a dancer that can open the "in between" world, but no, I don't think it was written right.
I was given this as a ARC so it took me awhile to read. This set is great value for as many books there are in this set. There was a lot of authors that i've never read before.So if you are looking read so books of these authors this will be a great buy. So ill start with what I read a lot of different supernatural creatures. I am not going to tell you about them because I feel that you need to read and make your own judgement of this books I can tell you a lot of them I had a great time reading but there were a few I just couldn't get into them but that is my taste in books may not be yours. so I can say enjoy this set and I hope you find new authors that you will like.
I loved this book. In Night Angel Lisa Kessler touches on the idea of learning to live with disabilities that can change our lives forever. Colin and Juliana help each other. The entire Night Series has been mesmerising. If you love Paranormal Romance you will love this series. The second story I have read is Diablo Springs by Erin Quinn. A story of ghosts and the past and how the past and current generations are connected by a curse over a hundred and fifty years. Awesome read!
Ive only read Night Angel by Lisa Kessler so far but, Lisa writes a story like no other! Her Nightwalker world is definitely one of a kind! I was thrilled Colin got his own book and Juliana was the PERFECT match for him. Her story is very touching and she helps Colin open his eyes and accept the things he cannot change. I want to say they are my favorite couple, but to be completely honest I love all the characters in this whole series equally! It's a definite must read
Seductive Supernaturals A collection of novels, novellas and short single chapter tasters by 12 authors for review for NetGalley. As I am reading them interspersed with other books I shall review them as I read them. So far I have read 30% of the set which comprises 3 main novels.
Diablo Springs by Erin Quinn (3*) This is set in SMALL DYING TOWN SOMEWHERE IN THE Wild West desert WHICH HAD BEEN A FLOURISHING MINING TOWN AT ONE POINT WITH ALL THE WILD WEST CHARActeristics that that entailed. As the name of the town impies there are a set of hot water springs in the town with a pool which had now dried up due to building andmining activity which had opened up a set of caverns underneath them into which they had drained. Superstition being of course, that the mouth to hell was in te caverns perhaps? In any event the pool that had been was now a large hole in the ground which was abandoned and open to all as the space had not been fenced off or otherwise been made out of bunds. Clearly a safety issue here! Additionally, there were lots of scary stories about the spring and pool that frightened off workers and townspeople alike. So a story that was scary but yet we could guess some of what was happening - the lights were of course lost souls and the lost girls came to town to help in its boom era in the only way they knew how. The intertwining of the tales of the lost girls of the 19th century ad the modern day were well done but the storm to end all storms was perhaps a trifle over done. So a good yarn in the ghost rattling genre but not enough perhaps to encourage me read more by this author. 3* ========= Vampire Reborn by Caridad Pineiro (2-3*) I think I am beginning to get bored with vampire stories as there is little more that can be said about them. They drink blood and don’t age. They are often very nasty and have usually acquired a lot of money due to their long existence. They are usually handsome as it seems they have perfect bodies due to rapid healing and metabolisms that operate to keep them at a perfect weight etc. So apart from their drawbacks they are perfect heroes - never heroines though - I have yet to read a romance where the vampire is female. Hmm shall I write one? I shall not bother to read more in this series. Maybe more by the author when she writes with her other persona on? I shall see. =================
Shadowfall by Erin Kellison (2-3*) Here we have the fallen angel storyline except this is slightly different as it seems angels are always walking amongst us and have hidden their very modern control centres so we can’t see them. Here we have a situation where we have hybrids and various supernaturals including Death’s daughter - I would love to know how that happened. Probably a previous story. And lots of fighting and healing and hiding and running and… yes all the usual components. We also have ballet with the veil between worlds being rent by the mystery of the dance. An interesting thought. Then there is Wolf who is conjured from the shadow and seems to become an almost human when he falls in love. So some different concepts and it is more original than others I have read, and yet it still did not grip me and I shan’t bother to read more in the series or by the author. Each to their own.
This review is only for Diablo Springs by Erin Quinn at this time. More will be added as I continue through the stories.
eARC provided to me by Chris Marie Green for honest review
Diablo Springs. You never know what you're going to find there and who you're going to meet. This was the first time I've read anything by this author and I enjoyed it. Took me forever to get through, but that was mainly because I was only reading a bit here and there. The fastest was probably the last 50 pages where there were more chapters before going back and forth in time. Learning the history of how everything happened in Diablo Springs to eventually lead up to what caused the present. If you don't like stories that jump back and forth it's okay. Just take your time so it doesn't throw you. You know when you're back in time because those chapter have the year at the top where the ones in the present don't. But I will say this...there's nothing like a curse to bring people together, especially one that no one knows about other than the person that got them there.
Being the persnickety Chica that I am, I have to say that I liked some of the stories in this box set (such as the ones written by Caridad Pinero, Elizabeth Staab, and Chris Marie Green), but I did not love all of them. With that being said, I’m still trying to wrap my thoughts around Maureen Child’s demon dusting house cleaner who has a thing for an old flame, as well as what can only be described as an Incubus with a twisted sense of honor. At this point in time, Ms. Child's story and the rest are starting to grow on me, but I have to say that I wasn't exactly captivated by them at first. That's not to say that I hated them, but I did think that they were fairly good. Overall, in my opinion, this is a fun PNR box set that can satisfy the hunger of just about any fan of PNR and Urban Fantasy fiction.
I went through 6 stories in this 12-story bundle, and all six were less than impressive (if I use a mild expression). So, leery of wasting even more time reading something I didn't like instead of wasting my time reading something I did like, I decided to forgo my foray into the paranormal world created by the imagination of 12 to me more or less unknown authors.
I'm going to be honest...When it comes to these box bundles there are some awesome stories and there are some that just drag on and on. I did enjoy quite a few of them but it sometimes takes forever for me to get to them, because some feel the same and some just aren't that great.
