Our lives are linked in ways I don’t think I’ll ever understand. I need him in ways that don’t make sense. They never have.

Beast IV is the final installment of the Beast serial by Ella James. Beast and Annabelle find themselves in hot water at the end of the third installment. Ella leaves us wondering if they’ll be able to get out of it alive and together. It seems impossible...

Ella James can write erotica. The sexy scenes didn’t disappoint, and I feel like the amount of steam was perfect. It wasn’t overload, but there was plenty! I love the grittiness of Beast. I love Belle’s strength and the fact that she’s not some innocent and naive heroine. You really do feel the connection between these two characters. There is a lot I like about this serial.

description

I’m going to be honest here- the main reason that this wasn’t at least a 4 star read for me had to do with the unanswered questions. I still feel like a lot of Beast and Annabelle’s story was up in the air. I wish the author would have went into more detail with some of the story line. I know with these short serials, it’s hard to fit everything in you’d want to write, but I wanted a little bit more.

This series has been a little hit or miss for me. Some of the parts were crazy good, the others were just okay. Regardless, I’m enjoying the twist of fairy tale thing and looking forward to Ella’s next fairy tale endeavor Hansel.

** 2-2,5 "sick with asshole-itis" STARS **

This book hit me hard and wiped the eager smirk the first 2 books in this series put there off my face.

What a HUGE disappointment...

I still can't believe this story went from being a solid 5-stars read that practically turned me into a silly school girl...to a sad 2-stars one that had a thousand lines that made me roll my eyes till they started to hurt.

I'm still loving the idea of "erotic fairy-tale fantasies" and I will definitely check Ella James' new series (Hansel, Part I) out. I just hope that one doesn't follow Beast's footsteps...

After two amazing first installments and a mediocre third one, the fourth came and put the last nail in the coffin of the entire series. Thank God it was the last one anyway.

I tried to like the 3rd and 4th part so much, but the excessive usage of sex scenes that keep popping up every other page with no reason at all, the absolutely unrealistic situations that make no sense and the unforgiving tailspin the storyline has suffered from made it extremely difficult.

This book starts after an incident that can obliterate Angel's life and completely destroy Beast's. Now in the run, Beast's only care in the world is Annabelle's safety and he is ready to do anything to achieve that. Even siding with people that want him dead.

Even though the story was stretched too thin, Ella James as always succeeded in making me lose my mind inside the world she built. I will definitely read more of her stories.

All in all, the whole story is constructed in a compelling and a little magical enviroment. It's intriguing, dark and beautiful, maybe the last one has more flaws than i could tollerate, but still i'm happy i read it.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Dual POV.
- Beast's inner thoughts always intrigue me.
- I liked the ending.

You know what? I rather stay with Hansel&Gretel or Red&Wolfe.
Everything started good, the whole bad boy approach and the damsel going bad girl... I mean everything happens on a prison right?
But the ending? Was too simple to be believable, so my high expectations...straight down to the abysm.
Rev to come.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS!

Honestly, I have no idea if it's the new year vibes but I felt hella good reading this series.

Everything just worked for me and I enjoyed every second of this crazy roller coaster. Recommended for anyone looking for hot sexy times, action and an intriguing look at how corrupt the prison system can be.

The final installment of Beast gives us closure and one heck of a ride right until the end!

When Belle showed up in solitary to find a very broken Beast, she acted without thinking – only knowing that she had to protect him, even if that put her in danger. Now a man has been shot, everyone’s turned on Beast and they are running. But will Beast be able to save Belle before it’s too late? Can he ever repay her for saving that part of him that lingered beneath all the darkness, the sliver of the man he used to be?

Bravo, Ms. James on another stellar novella series! I loved the grit of Beast and loved the way parts of Ricardo seeped through showing a bit of vulnerability as this story came to a conclusion. Although there were parts of this story that fell into place early on, there were other parts that offered little surprises where you didn’t see it coming at all.

I loved Red & Wolfe, and am loving this continuous novella series of twisted fairy tales. I look forward to Hansel which is up next. For those that are just experiencing Ella James for the first time, due to reading R&W in BEND, I urge you to pick up Selling Scarlett, which is normally free on Amazon and is the first book in the Love Inc. Series. Virginity is sold to the highest bidder <---who can resist that story line?

This story really lost it's way in the third installment. Unfortunately it didn't really do much to change my mind in this fourth & final book either.
Too many unrealistic variables in play. Too much Beasty angst. Too much over the top ... everything.

I liked the overall concept & parts of how the story was told. I also really liked the Beast/Ricardo character. But everything else was just ... Meh.

Overall for this series it's 4.5 stars from me

I actually loved all the parts in Beast; yes it's over the top and unrealistic but who honestly cares. The writing had a great flow to it and the characters were engaging. It grabbed me by my imaginary ladyballs right from book 1 and hung on to those bad boys right til the end of this book.

I did have a few niggles on the way through - in book 2 and then the ending in this book.

It just felt too easily resolved for me. After all the tension everything was skipped over and that was disappointing! I wanted more of an explanation and to read about how things worked out; not just a big bow stuffed on top of a hastily wrapped present.

Aside from that, like I said - I loved it.

4 RICARDO'S-BACK STARS!

ANNABELLE & RICARDO

"Let Angel take care of you, you sexy beast."

Part IV starts in Beast's POV. We see how he feels about Anna shooting Ryan and how he thinks it is his fault and is determined to save her from this terrible fate. The moment Beast tries to escape with Anna, the rest is a frenzy; as they try to outrun the guards and the Agency that backstabbed Beast, he becomes afraid because his Angel must be protected (how ironic is that?). As they both embark on a journey to hide from the searchers, they become sure of their feelings for each other.

I love her. This woman in my arms--I love her. Angel. She's my other half. My compliment. She makes me not care what the future holds for me. If I can see her, even once a year I want to be here for it.

This only fuels Beast--I mean RICARDO's resolve to save his precious Angel; he will do anything to save her even if it means giving up his own life...

And did I mention how hot the sex scenes were? The heat was basically radiating off the page! This was a nice conclusion to the story, although I have to admit I enjoyed Red & Wolfe more. I will be looking forward to reading Hansel & Gretel's story! ;)

Whew talk about pins and needles the entire time reading this book. I kept trying to figure out how in the hell Beast and Annabelle were going to get out of this mess they are in now.

Annabelle has made things way, way worse for Beast due to her love for him. Now they are in big trouble, dodging bullets and Feds, but always making time for some "togetherness". In this final installment we get a little more depth to Beast's feelings for his Angel and he finally tells her what she has been waiting to hear.

The book is hard to review without spoiling, so I am going to stop here. Ricardo and Annabelle have some super sexy scenes (as usual), however the end felt a little too rushed for me. Well written as usual and Ella James wrapped up the series with a nice epilogue.

Reading this series was like attempting to eat 2 whole large pizzas by yourself. It started out good and exciting, half way through I started to get sick of the heroine's weak and idiotic behavior and when I was done it was absolutely horrible. Even though it was a HEA, the ending was rushed and wasn't thought out well.

I ended up liking this series a lot. Very hot. I like how Beast turns back to Ricardo. In a way it seems a little rushed but I guess they wanted each other for 8 years. Any who. Very nice read.

The conclusion.

This was the forth and final book and while again I was glued to every word and I've enjoyed this series I have to say I feel a bit cheated, I wanted more, more background, more explanations on what and why, I wanted the i's dotted and the t's crossed, am I being unreasonable, is it too much to expect, after all they're only short books but that's the thing if you work it out it's been 266 pages at a cost of £4.46 or $6.97 and if I'd paid that for one book I'd be disappointed if I didn't get more information, do you think we're more lenient and expect less from short serial books....it's just a thought.
Despite my moaning above I've enjoyed this series, the first book just grabbed me and after that there was no way I wasn't in it until the end, although it's been a bumpy ride at times.

I loved this final book in the series. Ella James wrapped things up beautifully. When I got to a certain point in the book, I thought that there was no way in hell that Annabelle and Ricardo were going to get out of their situation but Ella pulled it off. The characters have grown so much within this series. I have grown to love them. The epilogue made me very happy. I am definitely sad that this series is over. I can't wait for Ella James's next fairy tale retelling series, Hansel.

"Beast was a twisted, addictive fantasy of mine. A choice I made that was stupid, brave, and ultimately so compelling, it almost didn’t feel like a conscious choice at all. My obsession with Beast started as obsession with Cal Hammond, movie star. But he’s gone, too."

There was lots of action and lots of sex. And I mean LOTS: in prison, on the run, in the car, in a hospital. Sex a plenty, and everywhere. And so concludes the sexually twisted love story of Belle and her Beast.

Alright, Beast part 4. What to say about this last part of the story? Well it was kind of a mess for me. The first part I didn't like that much because the end was like he raped her which is not cool, not like he was dominating and she was into it. It got better with parts two and three and I was excited to see how they would get out of the mess they are in. Beast had been locked up in solitary and stuffed full of drugs to keep him crazy, and Annabelle was there to warn him that someone was going to try to kill him that day. Only the DA comes in to do just that and things take a bad turn with Annabelle shooting and killing the DA. So they are now on the run. How will they make it out alive? How will they survive?

**Note some spoilers ahead**

I think my biggest issue with this part was that a lot of it just did not make sense. I can suspend disbelief to a certain degree, but the whole running and hiding and not being found? It did not work AT ALL. The way it was written was just like wait are you serious? You are really trying to tell me this is what happens? It was too much.

So what happened? How did they do it? Okay so first of all Beast is working for the feds, only now they have no use for him and they are trying to kill him. So they get a car at the prison and speed off. Only there are cops on the way, spike strips in the road, etc. So they get around some of that, but with cops behind them and in front of them they don't have many options. Beast swerves into the woods and drives a little ways (yes, there is somehow a path wide enough for his car to drive through the woods) and he knows there is a lake ahead and he just crashes into that. They manage to get out and pull themselves to shore and there is a grove of trees that they hide out it. And NO ONE finds them. That is where it got to be too much. There are all those cops who were on the road that saw them go into the woods and they did not try and follow? They did not search for them on foot? They just gave up and went home? I mean their grove of trees was by the road so they could look out and see if anyone was coming and there was no one there by the time they got there. Sure. That makes sense. They are hiding by the road where the cops saw them go and no one looks for them. They get helicopters to circle the area instead. It just...they would have been found in two seconds! It made no sense!!

Then what do you do when you are hurt, bleeding, and running for your life? Have lots of sexy time. I know this is a dark, erotic fairy tale, but come on. You need to put the sexy time in where it works, not just have the characters have sex every two seconds because yeah. Not good to read. So disappointing.

The final disappointment was the end. Instead of them figuring out a way to get out of everything Beast gets stabbed 13 times (!!!) goes into a coma and when he wakes up - surprise! Everything is fine. The story of what happened got out and peeps on Twitter were like dude! Let this guy live happily ever after!! So they said oh, okay. If Twitter peeps say it, we will do it. Super lame!! So disappointing. I read Hansel and loved it, but Beast, at least the first and last parts, was just not that good. So if you have read this and didn't enjoy it give Hansel a try. It is so much better.

This review is for the series as a whole....
First of all (never a good omen for the author that a review begins this way), I’ve read more than one item by this author, which indicates that things started off well. The first read – Selling Scarlet – was unexpectedly good. Great character chemistry, fluid story line, steamy sex scenes, etc. Then I read the Red & Wolfe series. I felt a little less connection with one of the characters, but it did not seem as if it was for lack of effort on the author’s part. So now I’m hooked. I keep hearing great things about Beast, so here I go….
You know that image of someone driving a clutch for the first time? Even if it is a Lamborghini? The sensation you would expect from the experience is constantly being interrupted by novice shifting skills? Or slamming on the brakes? That was my experience with Beast. I feel like this was a first draft of what was going to be a great, erotic, suspenseful, slick read. It was such a challenge to connect with the characters long term. Initially, I thought I had, but then, I completely lost sight of them. I can see where their chemistry comes from. But it didn’t translate across the entire storyline. Yes, the sex was great. But I really do need more than that. I can read straight up porn, but I actually do like a story around it. Hence, I read erotica. Moving along….
There were entire paragraphs that were destroyed because of poor grammar, wrong spelling, words misused, mistakenly used, not to mention the one in Part III where there are back to back paragraphs of Annabelle entering her room and sitting on the bed. It’s like one of them was supposed to be deleted, and wasn’t? You can’t enter a room twice without leaving it. I re read it a few times to make sure my critique would be accurate. It is. All you need is a basic Microsoft Word program, and I could have bumped this up by at least one star, maybe 2. It just came across as lazy. Ella, did you not review this after your editor did? Seriously?
Then, there is the ending. (I kind of want to stop typing right here to make my point).
That was one of the worst endings ever. Abrupt, no explanation of some major story issues, nothing flushed out about some of the minor (but necessary) characters. Boom. They sail away on a yacht, having more sex. Done, as am I, with this review. Back to Love Inc. for one more try.

OMG this book is so bad I'm still shocked , I was definitely not blown away by the previous ones but this one is .... THE SHIT on the cake , I can resume the whole illogical as fuck plotline into this :

Famous movie star runs his car across the highway , ends up by killing his 3 friends , he goes to jail become this really feared all-gangs leader but apparently he workes for the government doing their dirty work from the inside , he requests Annabelle (female lead and fangirl who was present in the car crash) and offer her a deal to let him fuck her in exchange for her stepfather's life (who's the warden in the prison where the MC in incarcerated) , since she's stupid and still lovestruck she agrees , Quickly after that he's played over by his bosses who want to kill him , he escapes and take the female MC with him , they're being hunted lamely , and they spend more of their time fucking instead of thinking of plans to get themselves out of shit , Beast contact an old contact in the government and strikes a deal that could save Annabelle's life , but AGAIN he's being screwed over , he gets stabbed 13 times and is comatose , he wakes up and finds himself free because people trended his release to TOPTWEETS and the characters lived lived happily ever after

Just one thing : WHAT THE FUCK ?

I really enjoyed this story.I think the author did a fantastic job with the way she wrote the 4 parts of this story. The cliffhangers kept you wondering and wanting more. The writing was smooth, the main characters were fleshed out pretty decently. The plot and story line was very good and kept me wanting to know what would happen next!

A great conclusion to a great series. I don't know what I thought about this series. Some of the things that happened was a little far fetched but it made for good supsence. I loved Beast and the role he played. Anne still naive but she knew what she wanted and stuck with her decision even though must if not all would have ran.

Great series!!
