Dream Agency Series: How does a Djinn with a need to feed on human emotions survive in the modern world? Only emotions produced as a result of his own actions are suitable sustenance, but granting wishes in public has been backfiring on his kind for centuries. The answer is to hide his nature under a scientific guise, after all its amazing what hypnosis can accomplish.
Physical Therapy
People just don’t come to the Dream Agency to have their fantasies fulfilled. Sometimes their techniques are able to heal damaged minds, that is, if you’re willing to pay the price of treatment. Waking to find yourself naked in a cage, obviously in someone’s barbarian dominance fantasy, is not Delta’s idea of fun, especially without the usual hypnotic personality change to fit her role. To her knowledge the agency was infallible, so what was the purpose of this scenario? Is his controlling dominance for her benefit, or her urge to resist for his?

To me, the first criteria for evaluating any work of fiction is whether it creates the ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ in the mind of the reader.
This book does just that. The environment and the characters (fantastic though some them are) become quite absorbing and are very credible. (Although I have to say that I felt a bit sorry for my favourite at the end, even though I didn’t really need to!)
The plot and the inter-action’s between the characters are complex (or at least they appear to be so) and I needed to pay close attention (and even flip to-and-fro sometimes) to make sure I was keeping track of who was who. This is not accidental on the author’s part, and it is one aspect of the fascination of this story.
Since (without giving too much away) deep emotion and sensual and sexual experience is at the heart of this book, the way in which these are described is crucial. Yes, these scenes were well done. Yes, they were exciting. However I did crave towards the end for a little more variety, and perhaps (this may just be me missing it) a few more moments of light relief or humour, just to highlight the highspots!
My second criteria for evaluating a book is whether and how soon I want to read it again. Yes, I certainly will, but I probably need to give it a few weeks first, just to get my own mind back to thinking straight!
I love this series, this one was quite different from the first, and it keeps you guessing about who is the client and who is the operative for quite a while. As expected from E.Jaye the sex scenes are steamy but that isn't all there is too this story. My heart when out to both the male and female lead at times as both of them find out that things are actually not what they thought they were at all. The premise of this series is fascinating, and I hope it runs for a while as now I really want some more details about the mysterious instigator of the whole premise. This instalment gives some tantalising hints, but I want more! next on the list is Melting Memories
