Jesse Mason is bone tired and just miles from home when a strange sound drifting with a Kansas wind catches his ear. He spies something hiding in the tall grass. His temper sizzles at the sight of a horse, dead from exertion, and is ready to string up the cowboy that has done this. What Jesse finds is no cowboy at all, but a woman who has been shot and an infant, both, he fears will not make it to his home alive. Jesse didn’t ask for this, but he knew he couldn’t turn his back on them. What he didn’t know was somebody wanted that woman dead and didn’t care who else had to die to get that job done.
My name is Penny Estelle and I was an elementary school secretary for 21 years. I heard every excuse and story in the book when kids were sent to the principal. I promised myself when I retired I would write stories about kids that got under my skin – in a good way.
I am retired with my wonderful husband and we live on a fifty-four acre ranch in NW Arizona. Finding out it would cost over $100,000 to bring in electricity we decided to go green. We live on solar and wind. I am the “greenest” person and I know, even if I don’t want to be!
My book Hike Up Devil's Mountain is a MG/tweens fantasy. We need to get our kids reading again and hopefully this adventure will help do just that! It's now also out in print and audio!
I have three other MG/tween stories out. Billy Cooper's Awesome Nightmare - Book 1 of the The Wickware Sagas and just released is A Ride of a Lifetime, Book 2 of the Wickware Sagas. A Float Down the Canal is a story for any young lady in your life. A feel good story about the girl who is always just one of the gang.
I have also written a YA/adult story titled At What Price?, and a non fiction story about my life on solar. It's titled, Solar - One Family's Reality. Please stop by my website @ www.pennystales.com and get a taste of all my stories. I would love it if you left a comment!

This was a very sweet short story full of cowboys and shooting, the old west, amnesia, a little mystery, a baby, and of course a sweet romance.
The author did a good job packing such a full adventure into a short story. It actually felt longer than it was, yet it didn't feel rushed like some short stories tend to do.
The romance was sweet and there was a little build up to the relationship. So it wasn't just insta-love. The bedroom scenes were the fade-to-black kind so there wasn't much description to them. I usually like a little more description to the bedroom scenes but I won't count that against the author because that's just my personal choice. I didn't notice any spelling or grammar errors in this short story. So the author did a pretty good job with that as well. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for something quick to read but still want a decent little story.
It is late September when Jesse Mason, a Kansas cattle rancher, is riding his buckboard home after a long cattle drive. Suddenly, he hears a low moan. Could it be the wind? But when his horse, Bell, reacts to the noise, he investigates. To his horror, Jesse finds a dead horse. Close by he also discovers an unconscious young woman and a month old infant.
P. A. Estelle’s novella, Jesse’s Find, tells the story of Jesse Mason, a woman with amnesia, and a baby girl. As the months pass, Jesse tries to piece together Ginny’s story and help her remember who she really is. Estelle feeds her readers clues to the woman’s hidden background until the dramatic conclusion.
If you’re a romance fan and adore old West adventure, Jesse’s Find will hold your attention in this 37-page novella. The book is also part of The Jesse Series, a package of three novellas—Jesse’s Find, Jesse’s Nightmare, and Jesse’s Heartbreak.
My Heroes have always been Cowboys...I recommend this one.
Very good quick read. Loved Ginny and Jesse. My favorite stories contain babies are small children. Interesting turns keep you turning pages. First read by Penny Estelle Highly recommended by this Texas Girl that loves Cowboy Romance, Well Done.
A creative way to tell a wonderful story. Mystery till the very end. A sweet and loving man finds a hurt woman with no memory and a baby and the adventure begins. I highly recommend you read this story and all titles by this author
This is a heartfelt book. The suspense of what happened to the young woman keeps you wondering. Having a baby to the story was an added reward for Jesse.
A rancher finds a girl and a baby lying on the prairie. He takes them home to take care of them, the woman had been shot the baby was just hungry. While she struggles to get her memory back they have company, not the good kind either. The marshall shows up after following the men. He takes one prisoner and one is dead. She remembers her life and she and the rancher decide to stay together.
A man on his way home finds a dead man, an attacked female and a baby. Taking the gal and baby home to help her heal she awakes with no memory of her past.
This is a very good story to read and I wish it were a longer story it was just that good. This is my first time reading anything by this author but it wont be the last.
Very good story, I think everyone will like it. I liked the sensitivity and emotions portrayed. The ending is just perfect. It ties up all the loose ends in the story. I remember reading this book a long time ago. It still was worth a second read.
The plot in this story held my interest. I would recommend this book to anyone that doesn't have much time to read because it is easy to pick up and remember the story to continue.
This is a touching short story of second chances. A widower and a young woman who has lost her family cross paths. Oh yes, and there is a sweet little baby in the mix.
Enjoyed this short story. Liked the storyline, the characters and I feel that even though the book was short, the author was able to keep me engaged and told a complete story that I was satisfied with.
