Chris Marie Green brings you an urban fantasy romance that’s full of paranormal thrills, action, and star-crossed love! Two monster hunters fight their sizzling attraction while one bloodthirsty phantom leaves a trail of death in New Orleans… Can love survive till the sun rises?
*This novel is approximately 51,000 words, and a brief excerpt is added at the end.*
A Bad Girl Trying To Do Good
Lilly Meratoliage used to be a villain—a ruthless guard for a power-hungry family who worshipped monsters. Burned in a fire as punishment after a failed mission, she was left scarred and desolate. Now, healed by a bayou witch who has given Lilly a pair of white magic boots, Lilly is ready for redemption, charged with tracking down a phantom who has already killed twice and is aiming to add to his list. It’s just too bad those charmed boots must feed off Lilly, robbing her of her short-term memory every night in order to keep them both strong. And it’s too bad that she’ll need to work side-by-side with a man who has already betrayed her…
A Tormented Hero Who Can’t Let Go of the Past
Psychic Philippe Angier is haunted by visions of these paranormal killings that have darkened his hometown of New Orleans, and he wants to catch up with this murderer who seems as if he’s stepped out of the past to challenge his victims to bloody duels. But to catch a phantom, Philippe needs Lilly’s stealth and fighting skills. What he doesn’t need is the attraction he still feels for her, even though he once deceived her during a previous adventure.
But charming Philippe is winning Lilly over hour by ticking hour, even if those boots are going to erase her memory again at sunrise, turning him into just another stranger...
Will the magic and the phantom beat them before the sun comes up or will star-crossed love win out?
Author’s Note: This urban fantasy romance is approximately 51,000 words, and a brief excerpt from a Lilly Meratoliage prequel (from MONSTER HUNTERS) is added at the end. SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE is the first full-length Lilly Meratoliage novel, but you can enjoy Lilly’s previous adventures as a kick-ass villain in some of the Vampire Babylon series, along with the novella “Raising the Darkness” (included in the following excerpt from MONSTER HUNTERS), and in the KICKING IT anthology (in the novelette “The Girl with No Name”). In other words, if you want the full Lilly experience, this is the order in which you would read:
*A DROP OF RED, Vampire Babylon, Book Four *THE PATH OF RAZORS, Vampire Babylon, Book Five *DEEP IN THE WOODS, Vampire Babylon, Book Six *“Raising the Darkness,” included in the MONSTER HUNTERS collection or available in print in its own compilation called RAISING THE DARKNESS *“The Girl with No Name,” included in the KICKING IT anthology *SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE
By the way, SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE itself is available in print if you’d like it to be on your keeper shelf!
I hope you enjoy this spin-off. Lilly is great fun to write, and I have a thing for Philippe Angier. I’ve always liked pirates, whether they just have the attitude or they’re the real thing.

Awesome new series by Chris Marie Green featuring Lilly Meratoliage from the Vampires of Babylon series.
When last we say Lilly she was burned and her mouth was in a frozen scream. Now we find her in New Orleans, aided by a White Witch Amari and a psychic Philippe Angier. This story grips you from the beginning.
Yes she is still running from and hunting the Meratoliage when the find her but there are other paranormal activities that are included in this book.
Lilly after she ran away from her "family" she met Amari. She fashioned a pair of vine boots for Lilly that became a part of her body. Theses boots "transformed" Lilly into a beautiful young woman who had no burns or scars. The side affect? Every night when Lilly slept the boots "healed" her and when she awoke the next night she had no memory of the day before.
Not long after Phillipe met Lilly he attempted to turn her over to her family for the money. To say he had a change of heart is an understatement. He cares deeply for Lilly and is hurt that when she has her deep healing sleep she does not remember him.
Together they investigate a "phantom" who killed a couple, the woman tied to a tree and the man with a with saber.
If you love suspense, mystery, and a very well written story, then this is the book for you. I personally hope Chris writs more adventures of Lilly Meratoliage.
What to say about this...what to say...other than it was fantastic! This was another wonderful book by Chris Marie Green. If you never read any of the Vampire Babylon books or the Darkness Rising series, have no fear. This book is completely new and you will never worry about being lost to a cast of characters. The focus is on Lilly and Philippe as they hunt down a murderer in New Orleans. There's only 2 problems. She loses her memory every time she goes to sleep during the day, and is also only awake at night with one thing helping her to look normal and give her memories (no spoilers, haha). All you need to know now is that it's time for you to rejoin the hunt and follow the adventure of Lilly!
Lilly has a problem. She wakes every morning with no memory of who she is. This is actually a good thing for the reader as we find out together why this is and what mysteries lie in her past. There is action, adventure, danger, magic, mystery, and a bit of romance. And while this is a spin-off of the fantastic Vampire Babylon series this novel stands well on its own. I look forward to following Lilly as she learns and grows. If this series is anything like Vampire Babylon we are in for a heck of a ride.
This is an awesome book! A strong female lead! Lily tries to make up for her past sins. She and Phillipe are on the hunt for a supernatural killer and also racing against the clock on a daily basis. With a little help from magic, damage done to Lily by her family is concealed, but what is the cost? Will she and Phillipe be able to stop the killer? Will Lily push Phillipe away? You will need to read the book!
I recommend this book. it was given to me as a Arc book . I found that the was it was written and the story was great. I like the main character and felt bad for her because every morning she woke up she lost her memory but her boots helped her .enjoy.
This is a Vampire Babylon spin-off (a Lilly Meratoliage urban fantasy romance)
The story draws you in with the idea of a woman who's memory is erased every day while she sleeps. But this is no "50 First dates" rip-off. This is deeply moving and a bit scary. It goes deeply into the fear and loss you feel, waking up each day not only not knowing where, you are, but not knowing who. Ans when you add a supernatural killer on the loose and looking for you... Well, a comedy it is not. Also add in a man who may be your soul-mate, or might be your worst enemy, the tiny flashes of memory you are allowed are unclear. All you know is that he gets your motor running like no-one in history. The story is a sequel to a number of short stories, but works well as a stand-alone. The sex is not overly graphic, but is definitely passionate and well written. The backstory derives naturally and the pace is quick.
What an explosive romance filled with adventure and heartache! Lily is a tough demon hunter made vulnerable by a haunted past that now robs her of her memories as she awakes each day. Phillipe, the man who once hunted her, now needs her help to stop a phantom killing people in the Big Easy. Can Lily trust this warrior and the feelings for him she cannot deny? Can Phillipe dare allow himself to get too close to a woman who will forget him every 12 hours? The stakes are high, the conflict is razor sharp, and the romance is hot and achingly sweet. This book promises a magical thrill ride and it does not let you down!
