This book astonished me with its numerous surprises and unexpected developments, as indicated by the title, particularly regarding 'The Claiming' event that occurs each semester at Rockwell Academy. I did not anticipate the complete shift in the relationship dynamics between Frankie and Cassie and Sir and Jack. We are introduced to Summer Majerio, who, much like her mother Winter, exhibits a strong sense of independence and stubbornness, particularly in her interactions with the newcomer, Luca Romano. As the new semester advances, we observe the formation of a new relationship Imogen (Cassie and Jack's best friend from the compound) and Jesse, while gathering all necessary information regarding the Serpent Society and determining the next steps to prevent any further incidents of kidnapping, sexual assault, or murder on the Rockwell Campus. Frankie and Luca discover one wrongdoer and gather as much information as possible, resulting in that individual losing their job at the academy and having to relocate. However, it appears that additional challenges may arise, particularly with the arrival of a new teacher. We must wait for the upcoming book "The Prom" to discover our answers. Who possesses a darker demeanor, Luca Romano or Frankie Majerio? I must choose Frankie, despite Luca being a reserved, cunning individual. Frankie has greater support and a wider network of connections to assist him, which is advantageous in case of any unforeseen issues.
