Rockwell Academy – The Twist

Rate this book
He’s the kind of danger she is running from.
But some hearts are slain by one wicked smile.

Luca Romano is a beautiful kind of dangerous—dark, desirable, and impossible to escape.

Scarred by a past that twisted his soul, Luca trusts no one. But when he locks eyes with Summer Majerio, something shifts. Desire sparks. Boundaries blur, and suddenly, the man who trusts no one is willing to risk everything.

Summer is off-limits. She's the sister of Frankie Majerio—a man as ruthless and broken as Luca himself. Frankie will stop at nothing to protect her, even if it means going to war with a man just as deadly, because some families are never meant to merge.

But their fates are written in fire and when two guarded hearts collide, they’ll either find a love that saves them or destroy everyone around them trying.

Torn hearts. Twisted fates. Love always comes with a price.

One move changes everything.
A new player has entered the game.
Secrets rise. Trust falls.
The darkness is watching.

I’m invested in this story now! I like that we have a few new characters and perspective but keep the originals as well. We are still finding out more about this Serpent Society and how things will play out. Bring on the next book!

This book astonished me with its numerous surprises and unexpected developments, as indicated by the title, particularly regarding 'The Claiming' event that occurs each semester at Rockwell Academy. I did not anticipate the complete shift in the relationship dynamics between Frankie and Cassie and Sir and Jack. We are introduced to Summer Majerio, who, much like her mother Winter, exhibits a strong sense of independence and stubbornness, particularly in her interactions with the newcomer, Luca Romano. As the new semester advances, we observe the formation of a new relationship Imogen (Cassie and Jack's best friend from the compound) and Jesse, while gathering all necessary information regarding the Serpent Society and determining the next steps to prevent any further incidents of kidnapping, sexual assault, or murder on the Rockwell Campus. Frankie and Luca discover one wrongdoer and gather as much information as possible, resulting in that individual losing their job at the academy and having to relocate. However, it appears that additional challenges may arise, particularly with the arrival of a new teacher. We must wait for the upcoming book "The Prom" to discover our answers. Who possesses a darker demeanor, Luca Romano or Frankie Majerio? I must choose Frankie, despite Luca being a reserved, cunning individual. Frankie has greater support and a wider network of connections to assist him, which is advantageous in case of any unforeseen issues.

I was really looking forward to reading this latest book from Stella Andrews. I absolutely loved the earlier series Club Mafia, which are the parents of this new generation of students at Rockwell Academy. It was super dark and spicy, and I was hoping/expecting this new series would follow in that vein. So far, not so much.

This book follows Winters son Frankie and daughter Summer. I did like that this story followed both sets of couples, but at the same time, it didn't feel like there was as much time spent on the couples as there should have been. The story felt rushed and I didn't feel like I really got invested in the couples like I wanted to be. There was good chemistry between all the couples and I could see the author was trying to set up a mystery side story, but it just seemed to fall flat.

All that said, I did enjoy The Twist. It was well written, a quick read, and if you're into something not so dark in the Mafia/academic genre it's worth the read. I'm looking forward to her next book to see how it all ties together.

Loving the continuation of this intriguing story. We’re back for a fresh term at “Rockwell Academy” with some fresh faces joining our cast.
The most interesting one being Luca, another next generation Mafia child.
He and Frankie’s sister Summer are struck by each other at their first meeting, Luca is cut from the same cloth as Frankie and despite him wanting his sister, I’ve no doubt they’ll be lifelong friends.
We continue the story of dismantling the Serpent society although this book raises even more questions as to who’s involved? With Luca, Frankie and his uncles working together hopefully their plans with succeed.
Glad to see Cassie and Frankie sticking together, love them together.
I have so many questions after reading this, the pairings for the new claiming are all interesting, looking forward to seeing how they all play out.
I think Jack has finally accepted that he and Cassie will only ever be BFF’s.
Can’t wait for the next instalment in this ongoing story.

Back with our second generation at Rockwell Academy and time to see who will stick and who will twist from the arrangements entered last semester.
There is a new player in the group who has his eyes on Frankie's sister Summer, someone who out in the world beyond these walls would be an enemy.
As the ceremony for the Twist starts it throws some real surprises no one saw coming, into our group, as the pairs decide whether to stay with the partners claimed at the last ceremony. Meanwhile Cassie and Frankie are still trying to rescue their friend Jessie, from the clutches of a teacher and the mysterious society she is part of, before it's too late.
As always, Stella takes us on a journey fill with secrets, mystery, lies and plenty of spice while our hero and heroine battle the threat behind the mysterious society and navigate their own feelings for each other, through what started as a Claiming and is morphing into so much more. I can't wait to find out what happens next at The Prom.

I love Stella’s books. She writes a perfect mix of love, mystery, drama and action like no other.
Then men are alphaing to the max and the ladies are tough as nails, complex and interesting.
The Twist is aptly named. It’s a book of mysteries and discoveries. I wasn’t a huge fan of following two couples. It took away some of the usual in depth feel with the main characters and confused me in the beginning. It doesn’t detract from the experience, it simply just pushes you to suspend your usual notions about romance novels and delivers something a bit different.
Stella’s books demands that you focus and engage. I you do you are richly rewarded.
Highly recommend!.

The Twist is book two of Rockwell Academy series by Stella Andrews. You can't read it as a standalone, so grab and read The Claiming first. 😉

This book is devided in different parts in which we read about each couple. I can't decide yet, which of them is my favorite:
Summer and Luca, Frankie and Cassie or Jack and Siri or will it be Jesse and Imogen?

At some point I couldn't believe what Frankie said and had to re-read several times. 🫣
And I'm still not sure about Cassie and Jack. I understand where they are coming from, but man, did I wanted to shake them sometimes. 😅 Where as Summer and Luca are such a cute couple with understanding for each other. Soulmates.

This book isn't as dark as the first book, but we still have to live with a cliffhanger. 🥴😅

I have to admid that I missed the darker side a little bit and also some depth of the characters. Anyways, everything is open for the next book and I'm looking forward to read more about Luca 🥵 and the others, of course. 🙃

One of my fav quotes:
"I always believed you were everything I ever needed, but how can we find ourselves if we don't lose ourselves in the progress?"

This series is amazingly addictive. Rockwell Academy holds a lot of secrets and memories . Frankie and Summer’s parents fell in love when they attended Rockwell Academy and the past seems to be working itself into the children’s lives. The Mafia Club series by this amazing author was founded at Rockwell Academy with five different families; and the saga continues into this one . A very powerful reading where human skills are tested , especially your intellect in ways you don’t see coming, strength and resilience but mostly your commitment, trust and loyalty. You will devour this series, Stella makes sure you can’t stay away from her books ❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! Can’t wait to read The Prom!

The beginning of this series is The Claiming, definitely read that book before The Twist.
I absolutely love this series so far, many secrets and new characters. Many twists and turns kept me fully engaged and making me want to find out the answers to my questions. Stella Andrews has a knack for writing a really great and balanced book. I am never left wanting. I cannot wait for another book in this series.

The Twist...

Rockwell Academy book 2. Fanfreakingtasic story. From the beginning this book grabs you and won't let go. Luca and Summer just takes you on this ride of wonderment. They are from the same world but each on a different mission that ends up intersecting. Twisty drama on level 10. Unbelievable angst, smexy, hopeful and WTF moments. You totally don't realize the ages of the characters cause it's brilliantly written but alsothey jump off the pages with levels of oh hell yes. Two epic empires and the new generation is stepping up.

I hated that Cassie has changed her tune about Jack. Now it’s a ‘I’ll always love you and if we’re meant to be, we’ll be together again eventually’ thing. Such a different view from ‘he’s my brother.’ It’s bullshit. Why doesn’t the author keep the story straight? And wtf because I like Frankie and hate this secret/weird promise.

I skimmed through most of Summer and Luca’s parts. Luca being so committed already seems a bit too fairytale but sure whatever.

The book isn’t over yet either. Just being dragged out more with Jesse and Imogen still developing their relationship.

We are returning to Rockwell Academy, The Twist, with characters from the last book and a few new ones. The author weaves a story of young love and drama, mystery with twists within twists, and with some sugar & spice thrown in too. 🥵 A story that grips you by the throat and leaves you wanting more. Another fantastic tale.

Well that set my heart racing!!

The passion is rising, with our couples and Luca and Summers is off the charts.

This book throws in plots and twists quicker than you can catch them, setting your mind racing where they will lead us. You start trying to second guess, a wonder where it'll lead us

I couldn't put this book down and devoured it in two reading sessions.

Now I'm hotly and inpatiently awaiting the next book The Prom.

We're back at Rockwell Academy with The Twist, another journey that you can get completely lost in. Characters both old and new fill these pages with all kinds of drama and chaos and steam so hot it's palpable. The twists, turns and surprises will keep you glued to pages and just when you think you may have it all figured out things are thrown in just creating new questions. I can't get enough of this series!

Be prepared to hunker down when you start this book because you won’t be able to put it down. There is so much happening, new characters and still the mystery with the Serpent Society and the “Stick” or “Twist” ceremony – OMG!! Had me on the edge of my seat. As always Stella does not disappoint with her books, just now we have to wait for “The Prom” to find out what happens next.

After The Claiming, my expectations were sky high—and The Twist did not disappoint! Stella Andrews brings the heat, the drama, and those delicious dark academy vibes that keep you glued to the page. The characters are even more intense this time around, the stakes are higher, and the twist (no pun intended) completely wrecked me, in the best way. If you’re not already hooked on Rockwell Academy, what are you waiting for?.

This second installment is a must read. Stella Andrews does an excellent job of intertwining the second generation characters of 3 different mafia families from other series into an epic story taking place at Rockwell Academy involving Claiming games and a darker story of recruiting students into a corrupt secret society. I can't wait to see how the series continues and the next familiar character that shows up.

This story sees a relationship develop between Luca and Frankie's sister, Summer. Luca and Frankie together with older members of their Mafia families are trying to bring down the Serpent Society. They are worried about Jesse who has been seduced by a teacher. As ever there are many unexpected moments with many secrets being uncovered as well as a steamy love story. Also good to see the continuation of developing relationships with previous characters. Another gripping read.

The ins and outs of being part of the Rockwell Academy are mysterious and vary for each person. The air of danger and intrigue surrounds each of the men in the stories. But as tough as the men are, they are nothing without their queens by their sides. They need to be smart enough to realize how much stronger they are working together.

This is Book 2 in the Rockwell Academy Series by this author. It is a suspenseful romance between Luca and Summer. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an interesting read. It is a thrill ride with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, danger and intrigue, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters. A dark read.

It's a new semester at Rockwell as we return after a break with Frankie and Cassie, with new faces too including Luca and Summer (Frankie's sister). We have the drama of The Claiming, an external secret society causing their own drama, and plenty of steamy shenanigans with our couples plus much more. A dark and suspenseful read.
