Brian is a former pro-football player. Now he has a foundation to help inner-city teens. Brian is also quickly losing his eyesight. Angela is a dog trainer and she works at Guardian Paws where Brian comes looking to find and train with a seeing eye dog, which he will inevitably need. Angela and Brian hit it off, but since both have drug related issues in their pasts (Brian abused steroids during his football days, and Angela spent two years in prison on drug related charges), they now have a ruthless reporter on their trail hoping to cash-in with a juicy story exposing their pasts.

This was such an entertaining story that really held my interest throughout. All of the characters were very well written. Brian and Angela were extremely sympathetic and their struggles came across as so real. I loved the dog that Angela chose for Brian’s guide dog—a poodle named Jasper. At first, Brian didn’t think Jasper would work for him, but they ended up being a perfect fit. I didn’t think this book really belonged in the suspense category, but nonetheless, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Loved this book. It isn't very often that the main male character has a physical imperfection or limitation such as being blind, or going blind throughout the story. It made Brian a more interesting and likable character, and I enjoyed reading about the training of dogs for those who need them. Great read

I REALLY, REALLY LIKED this book!!! GREAT storyline!!! And the author ALWAYS has me when she incorparates Dogs into the storyline!!!....NOT a fan of poodles! ESPECIALLY Standard (but I LOVE ALL dogs!) And I was a SUCKER for Jasper's sad story. And the irony of Big, football player, Brian with this poodle as his guide dog LOL!!!.Loved that Sharon also added a Boxer, Baron to the story. Plus Ziggy the Cocker Spaniel, and all the mutts! :-) LOVED Angela & Brian!!! LOVED their back story!!! Just a GREAT story!!! DEFINITELY going in the bookshelf vs the pass along pile!

I normally don't like celebrity books. If there's a football player, country singer, Hollywood A-lister or TV personality in a book, I take a hard pass. Having said, this was an exception.

It's also exceptional, because the heroine is an ex-con, ex-strung out druggie. That's VERY unusual in a Love, Inspired book. To add to it, the hero is an ex-steroid taking quarterback. And as if that isn't enough unusual about it, these two TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their bad choices. He owns that he's screwed up his body by choice. She owns that she screwed up her life/relationships by choice.

It's pretty incredible, actually.
I was delightfully surprised!

HAVING SAID... I did take issue with the La-La-Happy-Happy way that Brian just accepted the loss of his sight. He had very little frustration or angst over the darkness or anything involving deep passion or emotion, at all. I felt cheated of his actual feelings about the fear and uncertainty that comes with losing your sight. He had *N.O.N.E* of that, and it seems ridiculous and badly written to say he was just... hey, okay!... with having his vision go.

More, as he was only able to see 'out a soda straw', he was never bumping into anything, never feeling for anything, never missing things that were in the 98% of his vision field that he *couldn't* see. Also very problematic for me.

But mostly? Overall? I really liked this story. And I don't say that about... well, hardly *ANY* Love Inspired, Suspense novels. So this one is an exception to the rule. Well done, Sharon.

Easy read with a good story to boot. I highly recommend this if your looking for a quick love story with depth in what it might be like to become blind.

This was such a great story! When Brian Ramsey, a professional quarterback, learns that he's going blind, he seeks out Angela London and requests he be a part in training a seeing-eye dog. They both have things in their past they aren't proud of, but together they begin working through them.

I thought it was interesting how the author brought everything together. There is a journalist who has a beef with both characters and wants to expose their pasts. Then there is someone from Angelia's past that can ruin any happiness either she or Brian is trying to find. The way the author writes about Brian's losing his sight was great. He left a strong character remain strong even after his sight is gone. The way he felt about Angela was sweet and left him the hero in the end...

Great story about a manly man going blind!

Heroine trains guide dogs for the blind. Hero is a pro athlete who's losing his sight and wants to plan ahead. He's drawn to the pretty dog trainer, but she's elusive. She has a secret she's trying to keep hidden, but the hero has enemies in the press determined to expose everyone connected with him. This is a good story. Not terribly suspenseful, but a good read.

It was written well and The characters are for the most part realistic. The plot is interesting. And the story is nicely fleshed out for the most part and while there is very little action there is some light suspense.
