Madame Lilly, Voodoo Priestess: Soulless Soulless and vengeful proves a lethal combination for those who have wronged her. The time is 1890, the place, New Orleans, and Odara is lost to Madame Lilly, her soulless side—and she has not finished what she started. Unleashing two great forces, Theolus and Hearon, with ferocious appetites against her common-law husband, Henry Nicholas, is just the beginning of the end for Lilly—only she doesn’t know it yet. For the spirits she raised took what was left of her humanity and left a piece of themselves within her; a piece that craves chaos. Needing to maintain control over them to do her bidding, Lilly must do what is required even if it means becoming more like them. Tortured, scorned and damned, Lilly has one mission in life: Retribution.
Dormaine was born in Long Island, New York where she lived most of her life. As an adult she liked to travel out of the country though her favorite places to explore were her fantasy worlds as an author. She may be a nurse by profession but her heart has always belonged to writing. As a young child she spent many Saturdays in the library nurturing her love for books. There she discovered her fascination for the science fiction genre, through books, movies and graphic novels.
She now resides in Colorado with her husband and feisty dog. After many years of working in hospitals and travel nursing, she decided to pursue a career in writing. Her first novel The Keepers is in one of her favorite genres, young adult urban fantasy but the dark side, like paranormal is a close second. She's a Kindle Book award semi-finalist for The Time of Sanura from her Madame Lilly series. Presently, she is working on a paranormal mystery series of stand alone novels.
The saga of Odara - now completely Madame Lilly - continues in book two of the series. She's not done with her common-law husband, Henry - not by a long shot. She continues toying with him, and allows Theolus and Hearon to do the same. She has big plans for him, and everyone else who is part of his world.
The story begins with Henry still held captive, and flips back and forth between what is currently happening in the story, and Madame Lilly remembering the things that lead her to where they are at now. Not a story I would recommend reading without the first book, the author does give us some looks back at what happened in the first part of the story, as well as a lot more information about her life, the people that she has grown close to (mainly her best friend Jina), the demons that are now in her control, and the depravity that Henry was capable of. This is a rather violent story, seeing not just abuse, but vengeance as well.
Madame Lilly is a different character from when we first were introduced to her and we are seeing so much more about why. We are also seeing what she is willing to do to keep the control she has, how far she is willing to go to be able to get what she wants most: retribution for what has happened to her.
The end of the book again left some things open, preparing you to continue the story in book three, and I was left wondering if anyone would be able to stop her, but also understanding her a little more, and intrigued at what the end of the story set us up for.

In a classic battle between good and evil, Odara, the good side of Madame Lilly, has lost the battle for dominance. A soul can only take so much abuse before it shatters and revenge is required. In a region where voodoo and spiritual beliefs and superstitions are like breathing, Madame Lilly is turning to the dark side seek retribution against her common law husband, a brutal and vicious man. It comes in the shape of dark forces that threaten to overwhelm her, if she is not careful, can she stop their takeover of her soul? Does she want to?
Madame Lilly, Voodoo Priestess: Soulless by Dormaine G. begins by plunging us deep into dark action in the Louisiana swamplands. The scene comes to life immediately with the sounds of the creatures of the wild, from bloodthirsty mosquitoes to equally bloodthirsty alligators, waiting on their next meal, never mind the demonic torture of a man bound to a tree. From there forward, the darkness and tension continues in a style that Dormaine G. has perfected. Tight prose, full of graphic descriptions and atmosphere, all condensed into a quick read that has the punch of a much longer tome, this series is as satisfying and darkly magnetic as any I have read. Looking for a quick read that will chill your bones with its intensity and darkness while touching on the practice of voodoo and the lives of the helpless in nineteenth century Louisiana? It’s all here, well-done and waiting to be read!

This story keeps getting better and better. Now, that Madame Lilly has completely taken over, this becomes a battle of good versus evil. I have a feeling Sanura's story is devastating.
let me just start by saying that i didn't read the first book, as i got this one from instafreebie. but i don't think it mattered very much because like 1/4 of this book was spent reiterating all the backstory anyway. it wasn't necessarily a bad book, it just didn't leave me with the desire to read more at all. and i personally am sick to death of the whole 'woman has to be horribly abused by a man for years until she finally snaps and becomes strong' plot line, although for this series at least it makes sense from a historical stand point. so really all in all not as bad as my low rating would make it seem, it just wasn't what i was looking for / expecting.
(I received this free ebook by the author in exchange for an honest review) The name itself gives an idea of how this installment of the series will be. I loved this one just as much as the first one. Madame Lilly (Odara) has been abused to the point where she seeks voodoo and becomes Madame Lilly. With so much anger and hurt she has only one thing set and that is revenge. She is broken and her soul is shatter. The girl from the very beginning of this story is lost.
In this short story everything from demonic possession, darkness, and in detail graphics that there is no problem for the imagination is on the edge. The characters are very thought out and the life of the story seems so real. Theolus and Hearon are vicious lol. You will be imagining yourself in the deep swamps of Louisiana. This is one of those stories that reminds me of the saying "Treat people how you want to be treated".
I love a good story that is set in Louisiana because that is where I live. I love a good story even more when it is set in New Orleans because I love everything about that city. I hope to one day visit.
This is a really quick read and you will love it. To read my review of the first bk in the series click here.
Madame Lilly is continuing to punish Henry, but first she needs to get more power so she can control Theolus and Hearon. Upon her return to the swamp, she learns that Henry’s father, Julius, has put a bounty on her head. Lilly decides to take Henry home and destroy both his and Julius’ family. But Elijah is close and is bound and determined to try and save her.
Lilly is being drawn into Theolus and Hearon’s power. She has so much rage inside her that it is easy to find comfort with them. There are hints that her great grandma Sanura had the same abilities as Lilly but no one has ever told her anything about Sanura. Although Lilly is becoming the evil creatures she has summoned you can’t help but cheer for her after everything she went through.
This is a great series of love, abuse, power, and revenge. After how Soulless ending I can’t wait to see what happens to Lilly in Sanura.
Odara has taken her revenge on Henry and his powerful family but has she gone too far? Has her list of revenge turned her until a creature that needs to be destroyed. I love how the author describes Odara transformation from a happy care free girl, to an abused woman to powerful supernatural woman all fueled by the hate of an abuser.
