Comprehensive and entertaining overview of cannabis and its use. Longtime users probably won't find much new information here, but for newbies it's a good place to start. This would also be a great conversation starter and is pretty enough to serve as a coffee table book. And there is a pot leaf pattern on page 140 that could be adapted for many crafty purposes.
As a long time marijuana activist, this is my go to book for helping people to understand that the stigma of marijuana use is being squashed. Full of history, facts and just plain fun, every woman (or man) in your life, marijuana consumer or not, should own this book. Cheri Sicard does a wonderful job showing the world that today's marijuana consumer is much more than the stereotypical stoner.
This book was both a fun and informative read. I learned some things I hadn't known previously and I was entertained in the process.
The only thing I feel could have been cut from the book is some of the "cooking with cannabis" chapter. I already knew a couple of pages in that this was not going to be for me: cooking with cannabis seems very labor intensive and also requires a great deal of product. However, I learned the author previously published a "gourmet" cannabis cookbook so I guess she couldn't resist sharing a good chunk of information on cooking.
I recommend this book for everyone, not just fans of cannabis. Cannabis foes or people who just don't get what the fuss is about could benefit from reading this book also. Ms. Sicard clears up a lot of myths and other misinformation, and thus this book may reduce concerns some people have. She is definitely pro-cannabis, but the tone of the book is approachable. You get the feeling she's gonna go smoke a joint, and if that's not for you then, she's OK with that too. Good stuff.
Some of the information is out of date since the cannabis industry is always changing. Other than that, I thought this book was wonderful. It’s packed with knowledge about cannabis is many areas of life. I went through and highlighted information I found important.
