Raw. Real. Emotional Romance. Writing provocative and darker themed romance that always finds its happily ever after!

With 50 plus, full length books there is a story for everyone!
Cowboy romance? Got it! Small town... yep. Big city rock star? Covered! You like a little suspense? Yep, got a few of those too.

Most of my books are standalone stories in connected series. Whether it's the setting, theme or family connections, my series are often multi-generational and span decades. While each book is a complete story, beloved characters will pop in and out of these sagas. I stick to new adult, contemporary and western romances, with tons of emotion and all the feels tucked into them.

I live in the rainy area of Western Washington, and spend as much time as I can traveling to destinations all across the state, where I do all things outdoors.
Many of these locations become the settings for my books.

5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Years Between starts where The Other Sister leaves off and showcases the budding, fledgling relationship and unwavering love between Will and Jessie.

The Other Sister was a very emotional read for me but in the end, the journey I took with Will and Jessie was incredible and unforgettable. This book was just what I needed to complete the picture. For the majority of The Other Sister Will and Jessie are not a couple, and are not dealing with issues that most couples encounter. Though they come to love each other, need each other and have a mutual respect for one another, neither knows how to be in a romantic relationship, especially one that starts so tragically.

This book begins that journey for them. One of self discovery and learning to be happy and be a couple. It's still emotional and dramatic but also very warm and tender.

Jessie really does grow into a very bright, mature, responsible and caring woman. She learns to cope with her past while forging ahead and learning how to be a wife, friend and productive member of society.

Will is still so very strong and selfless but he too has to learn to fight his demons and become a better husband. We see a very different side of Will in this book and he become more human.

The growth, the change, the love, the communication, the understanding - all just make this book so much more and another wonderful experience.

Thank you Leanne Davis for your amazing and heartfelt writing. I am immensely enjoying myself.

I didn't like this nearly as much as The Other Sister. This was the continuation of Jessie and Will's story. It didn't add anything new since I've read other books in the series, so I already knew where they ended up.

The story dragged in some parts. They kept rehashing the same issues over and over. It was refreshing to see a story where love didn't cure mental illness. Jessie's problems didn't just fade away. She did get better, but there were times where she didn't deal with things well, which was realistic. Sometimes I felt like she recovered too easily. It's a long term problem. She was in therapy, but someone with issues as serious as hers would probably need medication. She made friends easily although I would have expected her to have more trust issues.

I would have enjoyed this more if everything hadn't wrapped up so perfectly.

First off this is not a novella. It's a complete story. It's wonderful! I love it. It's not a happy love story, but it's wonderful because it is so good. Like I said about the first one, it is nothing like I thought it was going to be. Her warnings tell you her books have EXPLICIT sex, and this, and that, but that isn't so. The story is harsh--Jessie is trying to find herself after being horribly mistreated and exploited by a parent. Will comes along and is her shining knight in armour, but he has "stuffs," too. Not like hers, but issues just like the rest of us. They learn to, and work at healing. Each other, as individuals, and themselves as a couple. With that warning, some might automatically say this is smut or trashy, but it is nothing like that. This is a hardcore, deep, and moving story. What sex there is, is done with taste, and it isn't explicit, and it isn't the center of the story. Just read it! Read the first one first, then read this one, and then the rest.

*hats off to Leanne*

Wow! It does not get better than this! I have just finished reading Will and Jessie's story and find myself bursting with emotion. I loved them both in The Other Sister and to read of their struggles in depth was wonderful. My heart ached for Will who appears so strong and yet when he showed the emotional side of him made me love him even more. Jessie is so strong and yet does not realise this and to see her and Will as they make their way through their marriage and try to become a "normal" couple makes a great story. There were also parts of their struggle I did not see coming and these added to my enjoyment of this book. Once again Leanne Davis has demonstrated what a brilliant and talented author she is. Please read this book you will love it.

Jessie and Will still have a journey towards their future because both of them battle with their own issues. Jessie wants to be a normal person as much as possible even with her past still shadowing her. Will is devoted to his job, but is finding that Jessie deserves more of his attention and how he is going to make that transition from always working in crisis mode to something calmer and crisis aversion. I liked seeing them struggle separately and together and how Will made every effort to bring justice to Jessie. Jessie herself really blossomed and has come a long way from several years ago and while she's still haunted by what happened before, she is also living her life more fully than ever.

Amazing! I am so, so happy that Leanne Davis wrote this book to fill in all the blanks of Will and Jessie's life after they become a real couple. Still to this day, after reading Other Sister - they are hands down my absolute favorite couple in a book. I read A LOT.. and Will and Jessie's story is everything you want to read about. They meet under horrible, unbelievably sad circumstances and fight together every demon possible - even when they don't want to fight them together. I have never read two books with a story line so touching, writing that is so well done! One thing I truly love about these two books is that Will and Jessie's personalities never change! In a lot of books once the characters realize they love each other.. or become in a relationship, they change and the "macho" act drops - but not with Will. He continues to have a hard time not being the solider and alpha male. He protects and he sees through Jessie's crazy-ness! And Jessie.. well there is no character like her.

This book is 5 starts all the way. I have read The Other Sister TWICE this year already.. and can't wait to continue reading books by Leanne Davis.

Ok so after reading the first book I had to read this book.
I needed to know more of their story.

I am so glad I did. This book really shows the after affects and that not everything is peachy. How can it be after her whole life being the way it was.
I think what I under estimated was Will, and how everything had affected him.
I mean we know Jessie is having a hell of a time. She gets help then thinks Will is dead or lost. So she kind of goes dark and reverts back in her head understandable. But I underestimated how Will had to deal with everything. Not only see and hearing but not being able to do anything about it without getting them both killed.
So yeah that was hard for me to read. I think what really helped Jessie was Bella and her husband getting to know them and seeing that not all men are like those other men. And that she can be friends with someone that didn't want something back from her.
Also to see and understand that cutting is a lifelong issue your never really cured she will probably struggle with it for the rest of her life.

As you can see these 2 books really stuck with me. I just had so very many feels.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

So when I finished book 1 the only complaint I had was that I wanted more Will and Jesse and now I got it! This was a great follow up to their story even if it was a little high on the drama for me. But that being said, I think it had to be high drama to make it realistic because people don't just get over things, they have to battle forever to deal with some of the issues Jesse has. I loved that she didn't just get better and everything was peachy for them. I loved their unusual love story and how strong that love was to get through so many things. Can't wait for the next book!

Narration was great again!

I love this series but this book was just okay.

It was broken down nicely but it just seemed to d r a g on and on. There was so much back and forth it was tiresome. Yes, they have been through a lot. I am not down playing that at all.

I already read the others so it was weird backtracking but whatever with that.

I wish the epilogue was more in the future.

Will Hendricks and his wife Jessie have found their way back to each other but can they reclaim the love they had the first time and can they figure out where they need to be?

As Will continues with the military can Jessie find her place as a wife and decide what she wants to do with the rest of her life? As she attempts to overcome her painful past will she be able to overcome her demons and come out on top?

This was a good book about putting all of the pieces back together after having everything fall apart.

I liked how Will wanted Jessie to experience things she had never been to before so he made a point of taking her to Disneyland as he really wanted her to be happy.

The difficult part in the book was Will being deployed and how that affected Jessie with her difficulties from before. It was so sad the things she could do to herself to help herself cope and I hated that Will was leaving to go overseas. Part of me was super worried about Will being so adamant on revenge for what happened to Jessie when she was in Mexico.

I really liked that Jessie went out and got a job and her friendship with Bella. I loved that Bella was so caring and was there for Jessie when she needed someone.

Towards the end I was super happy with what Will did and how he wanted Jessie to be happy and the two moved so Jessie could be happy with her job and where she wanted to be! Will was so patient with Jessie and wanted her happy and healthy!!

The end was awesome and I am looking forward to more in this series!

A great continuation of the other sister. Watching Will and Jess find themselves back to each other after enduring so much pain.
Jess had a baby girl who she gave up for adoption. She worked hard to deal with her past. She was trying to build a future for herself.
Will came back into her life briefly before signing the divorce papers that she sent him. He wanted her to date other men. She was always coming and going. Being deployed for months in end.
Jess was working for a vet Noah they Will thought would be perfect for her, she tried dating Noah, that came to an end after receiving a call from Lindsay saying that Will had be deemed a missing person. Noah comforted Jess and took her back to the base.
Her “father” tried to convince her that Will had been killed in the line of duty. But he wasn’t.
Jess and Will remarried.
The author captured the true love that Will and Jess share.
She what happens to the Hendricks, pick up this awesome read.

Loved this!

I loved getting to see more of Will and Jessie. We really get to see them being together and working through how to be together. They do not have an easy road and have things that they have to figure out how to deal with and what works for them. They want normal and they have to figure out what normal is and what normal looks like for them. I loved watching these two with their strength and the way they move forward to tackle life now that they are together. It isn’t easy and they have some setbacks for sure but we get to see them find those steps forward and refuse to give up. I loved that this story was over a long time period as it made it all more real and believable. I loved how Leann Davis handled the hard topics within this story. Definitely looking for meats to the rest of the series.

Oh Will and Jessie with all the emotions. All the tears. And luckily all the happy moments this time. Much more so then in the first one. I read the first book in this series earlier this year and had to wait a bit before I moved onto this book because Davis is so so good at drawing you in and taking you fully on the emotional ride that Jessie and Will are going on.
Again there was a lot of serious "real" issues that were dealt with in this book but it's done so well and truly feels like simply part of the story instead of just something put in to be dramatic and shocking.
I can't wait to continue the series. But again I may have to give myself a bit. I am a little unsure where she's gonna take us next with Lindsay.

We pick up after book 1 where Jessie and Will are together and trying to work through everything and aim towards what they consider a normal life, but just like before this is a rocky road. Will is still in the Military so while trying to work through things he still has deployments which makes you worry for Jessie but you can really feel they are trying to get back what they once had and there are sweet moments like when Will took Jessie to Disney. they work out who they are, what they want now and if they can have the love they previously had or if it. I just love that with this series you really get invested in the characters as they are flawed just like us and you want and hope that they get their happily ever after or as close to it as one can.

I loved this continuing story of Jessie and Will, and their journey toward a "normal" future after the horrendous events that led to their meeting. As in book 1, this story focuses on heavy topics such as abuse, cutting, and rape, but it also focuses on love, friendship, and the path toward self-discovery and a brighter tomorrow.

This was a well written book, and the audible narration was great.

You will need to read book 1 in this series to fully understand the family and relationship dynamics of the characters in this story.

Jessie and Will have to find a normal life but together. It isn’t always easy to do. Jess has to learn that there are good people in the world and neighbors are great to have. Will has some time in the Army left and has a count down to life that’s normal and without all the past slamming into her face. Will has to learn that she isn’t a mess all the time and can be strong and be honest with Jess about his feelings. He still needs more closer to help with the healing but also wants to get closer to Jessie too. This was a great book. I couldn’t put it down late at night.

Life has been hard for Jessie and Will and they have worked hard to have a normal life. Tragedies and sadness mark their life, and Will marks the time when they can have a normal life together after he leaves the military. Jessie has her troubles too which giving away what the book is about. I love the way it picked up from the other book. The character, Jessie has some problems and she was able to work it out over time. Challenges making it seem real and an amazing plot that worked its way from the first of the book till the end, leaving you hanging on for more.

The Years Between was a poignant telling of Will and Jessie's journey of healing and redemption. Their story is so worth reading. In reading this, there was a statement I had to highlight and bookmark to share that summed up thoughts along the way in their fight for their love and survival. "How could a love born in hell survive the rigors and drain of real life?" Simply love. And read their story to find out how.

Outstanding followup to The Other Sister - Will and Jessie's saga. This is a heartbreaking book filled with promises, love, drama and agony. The obstacles that Jessie must face to get to her happy ever after are nearly unsurmountable, yet Will stands firm in his loyal, unconditional love, and dedication to Jessie. Great book filled with fully-drawn characters and backstories that keep you completely engrossed in this book and the Sisters series!!

Real

I just finished reading The Other Sister and The Years Between. I really appreciate your writing style and character depth. Life isn't always hunky dory and bad things happen to good people , so to get through this life with a happy ever after is awesome. It is especially great when you work for it so hard and it pays off. So on that note people enjoy the words of th talented lady !! I certainly did.

More of Will and Jessie

This book follows Will and Jessie after the ending of book one. They have lots of battles to still fight and life is not all wine and roses. This book shows the struggle a victim goes through after rape and the need to self harm. It’s a daily struggle and will always be there. Will and Jessie have to fight every day for their hea. I really enjoyed this one.

This book was very good. I loved watching them and their love grow in to something so amazing. I loved that it wasn't a happily ever after and that they had to work everyday to move past their past. I loved that even thought they were happy and seemed to be "normal" their past still show up and they had to fugue out how to deal with it. I can't wait to read the next book about Jess's sister.

Cute

I'm so glad that the author have us more on their relationship without the outside influences. They are learning how to be a couple and I really loved that. Jessie is growing and learning. I liked that she suddenly was perfect and having a great HEA. Life isn't like that and the author states true to form.

Have you ever wondered what happened after they end up together? Is it happily ever after? Well this book explores how life is after you think they live happily ever after. Really great after story. Life is hard but even harder when you both face so many challenges, ups and downs and everything in between. I highly recommend reading this book.

One of the best things about Leanne Davis' writing is her ability to create characters that are "real" and this book is not a deviation from that norm. Jessie and Will both have their flaws and weaknesses and this makes them characters that the reader can connect to and empathize with them as they deal with their problems and trials.

Jesse and Will's storyline isn't a happy, bouncy read it quick storyline. It's authentic, and real, tragic and tender. It's hard to read about mental illness, and harder still to experience in life, well done book, sometimes sums up problems simplistically. But this is a good book, growth of characters, you want them to succeed. Sex is smoking, and relevant to their story. Recommended adult.

This story follows Jessie and Will as they start their lives together. The road is bumpy. There are good days, and there are bad. PTSD is there for both of them. Will has deployments and leaves Jessie alone. They find their strengths together and they struggle together. It's a beautiful story of fighting for each other against the odds.

Well worth reading

Awesome follow up and "the of the story" for Jessie and Will.
We don't know what goes on behind closed doors. That this couple was able become survivors and continue to survive and recover speaks to the inner strength of their character. That the author wrote of both Will and Jessie being traumatised was exceptional. Saw both their sides.
Well written.

Wow what a good story!

The author continues the story of Will and Jessie. We see them come out the other side of their nightmare. Gritty reality, well written. Moving on to book three.
