I was honored to receive this book for my honest review. Enjoy

“Love can destroy and love can heal. It’s what we decide to-do with it that determines that path”

What happens when one girl is given all the power that can alter the fate of those that have come before her and those that come after her? What happens when that powers that she holds within herself are just coming to light? How can these powers that she is holding determine the fate of generations to come? Will she be able to find happiness with the decisions she makes along the way? What about forgiveness and love?

Come take Skylar’s (Sky) journey with me to find the answers that she seeks.

Skylar’s blood is that of Medusa and Hades in which she holds a powerful combination of tortured souls. As she is coming into her powers as the chosen one she is amazed every time she opens her eyes. She can feel someone always watching her but can’t seem to see them. Who is this person and why her? The answers that you are looking for are in this book you will just have to read this book to find them out. No spoilers from this reviewer lol

Mason is Sky’s protector and her eternal love. Mason is able to feel when Sky needs him no matter what. It’s like their souls are one. To this couple they would not have it any other way. Mason has his family of friends always there to back him and Sky up whenever the need arises. he faithfulness of these kind souls is part of the back bone to this journey. “You’re always mine Echo” Mason to Skylar Mason has a pet name for Skylar and uses it several times throughout this journey. It can be calming to one knowing what the words actually mean.

Family that Sky has long forgotten comes to the forefront in this journey. The explanations that she seeks is not what she wants to hear however accepts to some degree. Sky has trouble believing the words that are spoken with a heavy heart.

In her journey Sky and Mason along with his family of friends are introduced to the New Olympus along with the new powers that be she has come to see within herself. Information on how the Vultures are evolving of that of the descendants to human form. (With a foul smell lol)

In the New Olympus we are introduced to the descendants:

Colin- descendant of Aries God of War

Aaron-descendant of Apollo God of Sun

Sarah-descendant of Athena

Adam and Kevin-descendant Hephaestus son of Zeus and Hera God of making weapons

Zara- the light in the New Olympus why then did Sky get an off feeling coming from Zara?

This journey however has just begun as we can see in the final pages of this awesome read. They all have struggled with losing loved ones of past and present. Can this new found journey that comes to be answer all the questions that we all hold dear to our hearts be answered?

The author Mary Ting has done it again in this reviewer’s opinion. She has yet again amazed, dazzled, taken my breath away and has totally rendered me speechless to the degree that this review was actually hard to put into words. No spoilers here. Please pick up this book embark on a journey you will never forget. Happy Reading.

My heart has been bursting at the seams to come back to Skylar and Mason. The way we left them was almost too much to bear. I loved coming back and being immersed into this magical world of the descendants of the Greek gods. It felt as if I never left, and I was eager to find out how Skylar, Mason, and the rest of his family were doing. Remembering what all Skylar had to go through in learning that she has the blood of the gods running in her veins and how Mason finally let her into his heart left me in tortured pieces when the first part of their journey ended. I couldn’t wait to dive right in and see what shocking surprises were in store for us!

Skylar now understands that she is far from normal. She is a descendant of the Greek gods of Olympus. What a mind-blowing revelation that is, and it is only the beginning of what she is about to find out! She has no clue as to what awaits her in the days ahead, and that has her living her life in a constant state of hyper awareness. She can’t afford to let her guard down, or it could result in her death or the death of her friends. Thankfully, she has Mason to stand by her side and bring balance into her life. Without him, she would be utterly lost and her heart would be a hollow shell. He pours peace and guidance into her just as she breaths life and love into him. They are a perfect match, and it’s such a shame that they can’t ever seem to catch a break.

I adored Mason even more in this book. He was so wonderful in his tender loving care of Skylar. He guarded her and loved her as if she was his heart walking outside of his body which in truth she was. She broke down the walls around his heart and showed him that it was worth the risk of feeling to know just how much she cared for him. Skylar saved him from a life of darkness and oblivion, and he took every opportunity he could to thank her for awakening his heart and shining her gift of light upon him. If he could have built an indestructible fortress around her to keep her safe, happy, and worry-free he would have done it in a heartbeat, but since that wasn’t possible he watched over her and kept her as safe as he could. Under Mason’s loving and attentive care, Skylar was able to spread her wings confidently and stand bravely on her own two feet. The transformation that is taking place inside Skylar is amazing and is only the beginning. During this time of trial and hardship she needs all the help, encouragement, and love that she can get and Mason is just the man who can provide those things and much more.

Mary Ting captured my heart in From Gods when she introduced me to the world of the descendants of the gods, and in this book she has solidified my love of this story and its incredible characters. I fell in love even more with Skylar, Mason, and the rest of the Grand family. Their amazing resilience and unconditional love for each other is truly touching and beyond words. I look forward with bated breath to the next part of this enchanting journey. To say that I am excited to find out what Skylar discovers about herself and those around her next would be an understatement. This is one author that creates mind-bending story plots and fills them in with stunning characters that will make their unique mark on your heart long after you have finished reading. You don’t want to miss out on any of her wonderful stories!

I loved ‘From the Gods’ , the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to dive into this sequel – and I have to say it just got better! I’m going to try to avoid revealing spoilers to the first book whilst reviewing this one, but apologies in case I inadvertently reveal anything… Skylar discovered about her unique heritage and the associated powers in the first book and now she’s finding out just what implications that has for herself and those she cares about. This story continues on directly from the end of the first book so I believe it is essential to read that one first – but that’s only my opinion!

Her romance with Mason Grand continues in this story, he is a brilliant character – the kind of boyfriend every parent wishes their daughter will one day be loved by. He’s now so caring and loving, determined to watch over her and protect her as more dangers threaten them. There are revelations, new contacts and so much more in this intriguing story but deciding just who to trust is more difficult than you’d imagine. Get ready for another action packed adventure with the descendants of Greek gods on opposing sides – and with Skylar in the middle having to learn to control her new powers and to use them wisely whilst still deciding just who is truly supporting her endeavours to overturn the evil plans of Hades and his supporters.

With brilliantly portrayed characters, mythological links and a plot full of twists and turns this is a very different and enthralling series – I’ve loved the first two books and can’t wait to read more in future!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Barclay Publicity for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in The Descendant prophecy series. Mary does it again! This book definitely does not disappoint. I'm giving this book 5 strong Stars. This book has everything that you would need, action, adventure, love, chaos, Good and Evil.

Skylar is learning so much about this new world she's been thrown into. Sudden secrets are being revealed and the truth is sometimes hard to deal with. Can she let go of past wrongs in order to deal with the new life she's been given. As she explores more of the power she has and learns more of the descendants, life definitely starts to get way more complicated.

The Grand Brothers are learning more of what they need which was surprising as I thought they knew most of everything. When a whole group of descendants are discovered everyone has to learn to work together and figure out where they stand. Will they all be able to work against the vultures that keep showing up?

Skyler and the crew have a lot to learn. Will they be able to learn it all in time to use it to their advantage? Will they be able to prevent evil from taking over? Will they be able to deal with the betrayal that is happening? Follow along with a wonderful story and be prepared to be sucked in! If I were you, I'd make sure to have all the books in the series as you're not going to want to stop reading when you get to the end!

Thank you Mary for your wonderful story. I will be driving into the next one with enthusiasm.

If From Gods shocked you, wait till you read From Deities! Get ready to be electrified again! From Deities is book two of From Gods (Descendent Prophecies).
Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left of and Skylar now is in college and has to deal with this whole new world of the descendents of the gods. We get to see her powers too! There are some new characters; some good, some bad and some you love to hate. Her & Mason are just so hot together. I laugh, I cried and at times I wanted to kick someone's behind (I felt like I was in the book.) Lots of action, more of the ugly vultures; it had me on an adrenalin ride and shed some tears. I certainly could not put it down!
Mary Ting you've done it again and captured my heart with this new series! I cannot wait what book 3 has in store for us!
5 big golden stars from me!

This one seemed slower than the last.

What I enjoyed:
* Learning more about the world. Glad to see there were descendants from other gods than just the big 3.
* Mason and Sky are a cute couple
* Glad to see the group bonding more like family
* Seeing the two groups come together

What could have been better:
* The book seemed to drag a lot
*
* Sky seemed to do more stupid things

The second book still looking good, I loved Mason and Skylar, Kayla and Nick and the new coming couple Amanda and Noah. Their relationship was part of the reason why this book so good. It was lovely, emotional and some scenes were funny. Sometimes I felt mad with Skylar for not telling Mason when something looked odd - about Ian and Mia etc. This book also predictable as I started to feel something was off with Steven when Mason didn't get to see him at the house. I'm guessing that Nick would tell Kayla in the future about the truth too! Anyway, I can't wait to read their journey to the underworld!

I loved revisiting Skylar and Mason and falling in love with their characters all over again. You can't help but see on for Mason's character but Skylar shows us she's not as weak as she once was. She's gotten stronger and she's not about to let anyone stand in her way or mess with those she loves. Whatever the cost she will make sure she protects her family blood or not. Even if that means making a deal that could jeopardize her own life. Mary Ting brings so much excitement and drama to each new installment of The Descendant Series, you can't help but get caught up in the drama that unfolds. Each page brings a new twist that leaves you wanting more. I really love the mythology genres and can't wait to see what is in store for us next with these characters in From Origins.

Lightning strikes again in this sequel to Mary Ting's, From Gods. Skylar has a lot on her plate with college, her feelings for Mason and learning to deal with her new found powers. Who can she trust? I like that you get to learn more about Mason and his family's backgrounds. I do love the blending of romance with mythology. There is never a dull moment so be prepared for another roller coaster ride. I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next. So" seal the deal" and get your copy today, you'll love it "hearts honor."

I am in LOVE with From Gods series. We dive deeper into the story line of Mason & Sky throughout the series, as well as their family. When a person that's abandoned Sky reenters her life and shakes up her world. We dive further into the lives of the demi-gods and become entwined in the lives of everyone involved. With so many twists and turns, you can't help but want more! From Deities will make you laugh, smile, fall in love with the characters and even make you cry. With just enough heat to still be a YA but yet make you blush just a little. Definitely keeps me wanting more

Mary Ting has done it again. From Deities (Descendant Prophecies Book 2) is a truly superb novel. Skylar is a fantastic heroine and this novel with its mix of college life and descendants of the Greek gods is just incredible. Perfectly plotted and written, and with a superb cast of characters, it’s a more than worthy sequel to the wonderful first series book. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

From Deities (Book 2):
Excited to continue Skylar and Mason's story:
I like the difference between book 1 and book 2 with the dual POVS in book 2 now we get to see how real it is for each of them! Oh my gosh her father... Finding out the things she did and how he watched other kids during that time... Hurt her. I enjoyed finally seeing Mason's past and why he is the way he is. I love that even though her Dad is trying to protect her Mason is weary of him. I enjoyed having glimpses into Masons past. Oh my gosh what a plot twist with the step father wont lie he gave me the creeps anyways! I can't wait to start the next book with their journey. It is so captivating!

This book is absolutely fabulous. I loved everything about it from the characters to the plot twists.

The characters were amazing and I felt as if I could connect with Skylar. She is such a strong and brave girl.

The story-line was incredible. I loved all the twists and turns that happened at the turn of each magical page. I highly recommend this read.

Wow so much had happened in From Deities and there were definitely unexpected turn of events. Viktor does everything he can to keep Skylar safe, but she's unsure if she can trust him after all these years. There are new characters introduced and it's easy to tell who's side they are on. The group is still unsure who is creating the vultures and their true motives until the very end of the book. Keeping me on my toes here!

The plot continued right where the first book ended. But this book gave alternate versions of the narrative, by switching from Skylar's voice to Mason's voice. Cliff hanger ending, which I could do without. Now I will have to read #3!

I just recently read the first book in this series, "From Gods", and was lucky enough to be able to read the sequel, "From Deities". Before I read this book, I had really high hopes for it. I am happy to say this book exceeded my expectations, which I did not think could happen. I absolutely loved the first book, but I think I liked this one even more! They say that lightning doesn't strike twice, but I think Mary Ting just proved that theory wrong.

This book picks up right where the first book left off. There is plenty of action, mystery, romance, humor, and more that kept me glued to my Kindle. There was not one time where I felt myself bored and just skimming the pages. I was enthralled with this book. I do not want to talk about the plot very much because I am afraid I will give away some spoilers. What I can say is that Skylar and her friends went through a heck of a roller coaster ride, and I can't wait to see how they handle it in the next book. Skylar starts to develop some powers, and I am really intrigued to see more of that develop in the future.

“Everett, stand behind us,” I ordered. I didn’t mean to sound forceful and demanding, but his life was at stake. The vultures could seriously hurt him with their bolts. As Nick and I fought back with our lights standing side by side, Everett managed to stay behind us.
I could tell from the way they maneuvered and worked as a team that this group of vultures was smarter. Not only that, their lights moved like whips. Whack! Whack! Shit! One lashed across my shirt and burnt through it. Then I wondered if I could move my light like them. Before I could try, the five vultures joined their bolts into one, and it was coming straight for us.
“Shit!” Nick yelled, combining his light with mine. “Theirs is so much bigger and brighter. Can we take them?” Our light hit theirs, creating a massive spark of light, blinding our visions. The impact caused individual lights to shoot out.
“Hell, yes.”

Feeling like more distance was between Sky and me, I became desperate. I didn’t care if I burnt down this forest. I was going to get to Sky…now. What I was about to do next would drain me, but it was the only thing I could think of.

All the characters in this book were just as phenomenal as they were in the first book. We were introduced to some new characters that I liked as well. At first I thought there was going to be a love triangle, but I was happy to discover that nothing separated Mason and Skylar in this book. The romance in this book was even better than the first book. There were really sweet scenes as well as scenes filled with humor and smoking hot chemistry.

"When Mason cupped my cheeks and planted his lips on mine, I broke out of my thoughts.

"I don't know how we're going to be able to sleep together without me trying anything with you. Maybe you should stay away from me, too."

"What if I don't want you to stay away? What if I want to go to the naughty corner? You know, I've been really bad. I think I deserve to go there." My tone was playful and so were my eyes as I smiled flirtatiously at him. Mason chuckled at first, then his eyes shifted to my lips with desire.

"Naughty corner it is." There was no stopping now after his tight chest exhaled a growl. He was turned on by my words. Hot wanting sensations coursed through me when Mason's lips conquered mine again. As his hands explored my body, I lost myself in him...and it was the best place to be."

One thing I really liked about the relationship between Skylar and Mason is that they trusted each other. They did not hide things from each other, and they were willing to do anything to protect the other. Skylar and Mason were both really mature and had a strong relationship. I was happy that they did not have any drama in their relationship that caused a break up. I just love them together.

““I’m just glad you didn’t shock me.” I let out a small laugh.

“I’m learning to control it around you, Echo, but I don’t know if I ever will. You excited me way too much for me to handle.””

There was nothing that I disliked about this book. I think this series might be my new favorite series, it is that good. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good paranormal romance, especially if you like the idea of demigods. This series is amazing, and I really hope everyone reads it and loves it. Please go and read this book and the first book, "From Gods". I cannot say enough how much I loved this book and the book before it. The next book does not come out until 2015. I do not know how I am going to be able to wait that long for this book. I want it now!

Sky’s life has become a little crazy since the last time we saw her. With the combination of Medusa and Hades blood, she is dangerous in many ways. She is still coming into her powers and is a little scared at the power that is forming. Luckily she has Mason and the rest of the gang to help her through this. She feels like someone is watching her all the time. Unfortunately, she is right. She isn’t safe. Someone wants her and will stop at nothing to get her. This puts everyone she loves at risk. Will Sky ever be safe? Who is this person who wants her so badly?

Mason has taken on the role of Sky’s protector. He is always there for her. This is a good thing because someone isn’t being honest with them. Someone is helping the bad guys get to her. There are multiple battles and fights that take place. And let me say that it is a good thing Sky has such strong friends because her fate could have been very different. The enemy is evolving and is more dangerous than ever before. The Vultures defiantly have a powerful person pulling the strings. Who could it be? Sky also has a new person in her life. Someone from her past that she never thought she would see again. This person changes everything.
We are also introduced to some new power players. More descendants are out there. Those who are willing to help and have powers of their own. I enjoyed this aspect of the story! I love all the Greek Gods so this was an excellent addition to the story.

We still get to see romantic times between Sky and Mason, even though the situation is pretty serious. This is an action packed story with an ending I didn’t see coming. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the ending. In order to save her family will Sky be able to complete this task? A task that could end very badly for her. I don’t know the answer because it will be in the next book! Which I need soon!

I love how this book continued right after the last it didn't skip any months or anything. I honestly was surprised that Skylar dad came to see her after so many years. He said that he was always watching from a distances then he sends Noah and Tim to watch after he fro a far while she's in college. I love that Mason is willing to protect Skylar no matter what is to come as well as his family. They came so many times when she didn't answer he phone thinking that something had happened to you her. After her father set up a meeting with her and Mason he was going to let them meet his people which he did only to find out that Zara the leader wanted help finding her sister who was in mountain Hem. Soon after Skylar, Mason and his family went to the lake house which soon was attacked by vultures who could use their powers in human form they took Everette with them. After battling there way through Mount Hem only to learn that Zara had a different motive she was bring Skylar in exchange for her sister. But the worst part was learn Steven Skylar mom fiancee was Hephaestus. No one ever seen that coming, and then learning the truth of what he did to Skylar dad to get him out of the picture along. So many betrayals revealing themselves so fast. Steven has Skylar's mom because he knew she would find and bring him the stone and Hades head back. After Skylar dad made the deal that he would stay with Hephaestus while Skylar mom and Mason go with her. Steven backed out at the last minute when they were jumping through the portal he snatched Skylar mom back. Skylar was beyond devastated and knew what she had to do to get her parents back. She didn't know what was coming but she knew she needed the stone and had to kill Hades.

My rating is actually 4.5 stars

Note: This review contains NO spoilers

And the adventure continues... As stated in the synopsis, more secrets are revealed!! The intensity and suspense keeps rising as Skylar and her friends continue on their quest to find answers and save loved ones.

Mary continues to "wow" me with her incredible character development and world-building. Even with the introduction of new characters throughout the story, each character maintains their own individuality and distinct personalities. As for the world-building, Mary has created a setting that is vivid and believable...even in a world of mythology and fantasy. I loved how the story flowed as secrets were revealed, which led them closer to the center of the mystery. And, boy, what revelations and twists were divulged which let me stunned. However, I did find that it wasn't as fast-paced as compared to From Gods. But, it definitely does not detract from the story as a whole.

I am totally loving the romance between Skylar and Mason. Despite all the obstacles that lay in front of them, their relationship just keeps getting stronger. To top it all off, Skylar finds out the truth about her accumulating powers.

I'm getting the feeling there's a lot more to the mystery than what was revealed. And, sure enough, there is! Oh, those twists and turns in this mystery action, adventure has definitely got me addicted! Time to read From Origins, so I can find out if Skylar, Mason, and all the other descendants succeed in this adventure.

After reading book one in the 'Descendant's Prophecy' series I was excited to read "From Deities." Unfortunately, this book suffered from the Sophomore curse whereas the first book in a series is good but the second one just doesn't quite love up to the first.

This book picks up immediately after the events of book one. Someone from Skylar's past re-enters her life and causes her to rethink the last ten years. Additionally, she is beginning to come into her powers especially when she is being attacked which in my opinion is occurring too often.

Meanwhile Skylar has managed to break down Mason's defenses and they become involved in a committed relationship; yet, Mason has competition when Ian, a boy at school begins to show increasing interest in Sky. However, something is a little suspicious about Ian and especially his ex-girlfriend, Miami.

Skylar and the gang team up with the person from her past (No, I will not tell you who?) especially when Everett is kidnapped and they are bound and determined to get him back. There are action scenes after action scenes which is something that the author writes well. Unfortunately, there were too many of them as well as too many flashbacks which is not something the author does well. Also, I was sick of the sappy dialogue between Sky and Mason. I felt like I was reading high school drama vs. adult drama. In short this book was less than stellar for me and quite frankly I'm not sure if I will be going on to book three. However, decide for yourself and decide.

Huge plot twist that SHOCKED me!
Most of you know how much I love a plot twist that I can't guess. Well not only couldn't I guess this one but it left me jaw-dropped!

Character development is on point!
I'm already in love with these characters from reading book one, From Gods. They are realistic, relatable and fun! Well we get to see them develop a hundredfold (which I didn't think was possible, they were already great!) in this book!

And the plot thickens!
Of course I won't spoil it for you for guys...the already amazing plot gets even more intricate and of course complicated (in a good way!) which had me on the edge of me seat!

Romance has progressed beautifully and most importantly REALISTICALLY!
Everything between Skylar and Mason felt incredibly real...no other words can describe how I felt about this couple!

By the end of this book I just wanted to immerse myself in this series and never leave! I would recommend this to anyone with a heartbeat!

Mary Ting, thank you for sharing this heartfelt, action-packed story with your readers!

I was hired to proofread this book. The author was not and is not aware that I would be writing a review. It was not part of our agreement. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.

This is the second book in the series and it is fairly important to read the series in order, in my opinion. There is important background information provided in the first book that makes the second book make a whole lot more sense that I feel it would otherwise. Basically, I think you'd be pretty lost without that background info.

I felt like this was a good continuation of the story in From Gods. The action was more intense, but Skylar was better able to handle herself, so the increase was warranted and really kind of necessary to keep the suspense up.

And there isn't really much more I feel I can discuss without spoiling either this book or From Gods because it all feels rather important plot-wise.

Overall I give From Deities 3.5 out of 4 stars because it didn't intrigue me quite as much as From Gods did, but it was still pretty good.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book. I found it more enjoyable than the first book of the series. I liked the dual point of views in some chapters of Skylar and Mason. Skylar’s father Victor shows back up in her life after leaving as to keep her safe from him and he was kind of a leader of the group of descendants that Tim and Noah are apart of. Skylar isn’t happy that her dad left her because he’d tried to k*ll her multiple times without even realising it but then found a bunch of other kids and could be a father figure to them which has to hurt. Skylar had a few runs ins with Ian and his group at college which annoyed me as how many times did Skylar feel weird or found out that her drink that Ian had made her tasted weird and she felt strange and passed out before waking up in the hospital but she never told Mason or the others even after she’d seen Mia, Ian’s ex-girlfriend use her powers. Like her life has been in danger before so why didn’t she tell anyone. I’m looking forward to seeing how their trip to the Underworld goes on their quest of k*ll Hades in order to save Victor and Gina, Skylar’s parents from Hephaestus’s clutches. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

I fell head over heals for Mason, Sky and their group of friends in From Gods. I was so excited to get to read more in From Deities and let me tell you this book took my breath away. The romance between Mason and Sky is so heart warming and adds so much to the story. Add to that some new characters and lots of action and you are in for the ride of your life. I loved every second of it.

Sky has developed new powers and discovered a prophecy that may change everything for her and her friends. She will need Mason and his love to give her strength to survive all that lies ahead. "Love can destroy and love can heal. It's what you decide to do with it that determines the path."

I really enjoyed that we had a chance to get to know the secondary characters like Nick and Amanda better in From Deities. I felt an attachment to these characters as well as Mason and Sky. My heart ached and tears were shed at some of the surprising turns in this awesome story. I may have screamed at my kindle a little too when I got to the insane cliffhanger. I desperately need to know what happens next!

"Good always won. I had to tell myself that, because that was my only hope."

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review ~ Sanne - Scandalous Book Blog***

> Genre: YA/NA - Mythical
> Steam factor: very low (Pretty much non exsistant besides some stolen kisses here and there)
> Fitted for a younger audience

My my my, what a pleasant surprise near the end! :-)

The main part of the book was once again packed with adventure but it was only around the 90% mark that things really got exciting! Even I must admit that I was hugely surprised from that time on.

In this book we are introduced to a whole bunch of new characters. Some of which you might like, some of which you'll probably hate and some of them you'll be surprised they even exsisted (still ;-) ).

Oh and do I love myself some Nick, he is such a funny guy who'll make the best of each situation presented upon them.

Once again I cannot tell you much because a lot of secreties will be revealed and you should discover those for yourselves.

I am really curious in which direction the writer will go with the third book in the series. What I do know is that it'll be hot as hell! ;-) Mwuahahahahaha
