Double the fun with Bundle #1! Lund's first 2 novels of the Mina Kitchen series combine for delightful reads - and treats! Recipes are included at the end of each novel, per Lund's husband, Chef Andrew Mark.
Lund's humor hits home with this delectable duo. Some reader ratings include:
“…Kitchen Addiction is a "Must Read" light hearted comedy, perfect for the beach or a snowy day in front of the fireplace. You won't want to put it down. I finished the story last night & realized I would miss Mina's adventures. Congrats Ms. Lund, we look forward to your future stories!!”
“I absolutely fell in love with this book! The characters are interesting (and all have their own flaws). I never knew what was coming around the next page in the story. I couldn't wait to finish the book so that I knew the who's and why's while never wanting the story to end. I can't wait for the author to publish another novel!” “Lizz Lund is an amazing author! this book [Christmas Bizarre] is both funny and witty! Made me actually laugh out loud :)”
“Loved the book. I actually read it over 2 dreary days. Cannot wait for the next one. Lizz Lund is my favorite writer.”
KITCHEN ADDICTION! Meet Mina Kitchen, a forty-something single who likes to cook - and cook and cook. In fact, her zest for whipping up trays of canapés is dwarfed only by her weird luck and mountain-lion size tabby cat, Vinnie. That, and her godmom's tendency for blackmailing new members into joining St. Bart's. Okay, maybe Mina's Swiffer-addicted neighbor, Vito, is a bit weird, too. As if all that wasn't enough, Mina's a Jersey girl transplanted in the midst of the Amish-flavored countryside of Lancaster, PA.
Things get really complicated when she learns that her neighbor Vito is in a witness protection program, and her dry cleaner deals in prescription samples. Throw in a few mysterious flaming feces flingers and a fuse box labeled in Arabic, and you have a recipe for catering disorders.
Kitchen Addiction! will keep you smiling when you're not LOL-ing. Set in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, you'll find a surprising cast of characters, humorous plot twists, red herrings and actual recipes. Well, some of the recipes are real. The others you might to take with a pinch of salt, and some Tums.
CHRISTMAS BIZARRE What do Santa’s Sidekick, a dead lawyer and a geriatric vampire have in common? Meet Mina Kitchen – a forty-something single who finds trouble quicker than she can whip up a batch of breakfast breads. Plural. Her catering disorder runs neck-and-neck with her weird luck, and her cat’s weirder tendency toward gnawing elf gear. Okay, and getting kidnapped a couple of times in one week is a little strange, too.
Her next door neighbor Vito's past as ex-leader of the Moils, the Jewish-Polish Family from Bumville, New Jersey, comes to light and throws a dollop of dilemmas into an already simmering plot.
Top it all off with a counterfeiting ring, a county-wide dearth of holiday wrapping tape, and a mass of pets running loose at the local mall, and what do you have? A recipe for disaster that Mina whips to a froth.
Christmas Bizarre will keep you smiling when you’re not shouting up a belly laugh. Set in Lancaster, “Pee-Ay” you’ll discover a lively cast of characters, funny dialogue and lots of twists and turns. Hang on tight – you’re in for a slalom of a holiday ride.
What a bargain! Get two books for the price of one in this bundle.
Mina Kitchen is one of my favorite heroines. She's got a talent for cooking and all she wants to do is cater for a living. But while she's trying to figure that part out, bodies seem to pile up. It's up to Mina to solve them or else the police might think she's the culprit.
Delightful cozy mystery series with recipes! Best of both worlds!
I really like this serie with Mina Kitchen in these two first books. I enjoy reading about her adventures and people - family and friends as well as pets who surround her. Books are humorous and funny and I intend to continue with next one and read all of them.
Sorry, but I read the first 18% and all it was was a series of run on accidents. Nothing funny, nothing interesting, no story line and nothing that I wanted to continue to read.
Bundle of the first two books in the Mina Kitchen series. I had to read these, since I'd started with #3!
Kitchen Addiction Someone is burning down new Buy-A-Lot stores in locations pinpointed by EEJIT, where Mina works. Their client is not very happy, and neither is her boss. Her neighbor Vito has her delivering and picking up his laundry from the scary Mrs. Phang. Her mother and her aunt keep trying to set her up with a boyfriend, and her cat and bird demand their meals and attention loudly. A disastrous visit to a supper club in New York with her friends, a head wound from getting hit by a ball at a polo match, and finding out that every man she is attracted to seems to be gay, do nothing for Mina's spirits. Things get more complicated, but between her family and friends, she makes it through - more or less. Interesting characters, but tries too hard to be cutely funny.
Christmas Bizarre Apparently there is a tape shortage and everyone trying to wrap gifts is panicking. Mina is working part-time as an elf for a department store Santa, and getting tired of having her shins kicked by unruly kids. She also gets some shifts at a local restaurant/catering company, but is still living paycheck-to-paycheck. Mina uses cooking, often to excess, as a means to calm down. Her neighbor Vito is storing 'stuff' in her basement again, supposedly for the church Christmas bazaar. Also some of Vito's not-so-nice former acquaintances have started zeroing in on Mina. What with Christmas shopping, counterfeit stamps, and being kidnapped, Mina's life is far from calm. Another cute entry in the series. I may continue with the series later, but I think I've had enough for now.
This book is a combo of two stories. The first one is really good and the second one is okay. Kitchen Addiction is a "Must Read" light hearted comedy, perfect for the beach or a snowy day in front of the fireplace. You won't want to put it down. I finished the story last night & realized I would miss Mina's adventures. Congrats Ms. Lund, we look forward to your future stories!!” I received a complimentary copy of this book. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
IF your into cozey murder mystery's and love to lauph there is no way you want to miss reading the "Funny Adventures of Mina Kitchen "you will meet the most bizarre and hilarious caracters that will carry you through the crackpot adventures of corruption, intreage, murder and poopy plots. 🤔🙄😀😄😂😉😊 Kat
I found these books to be amusing, with a few laugh-out-loud sections. There are still some editing errors that need fixed, but I didn't find them too distracting. I loved the characters! Even the bad guys were quirky. I would recommend these books to anyone who likes cosy mysteries.
I absolutely loved Kitchen Addiction! Mina Kitchen is a hilarious, relatable protagonist whose love of cooking is only matched by her knack for finding herself in absurd situations. Between her mountain-lion-sized cat Vinnie, a witness-protection neighbor, and a dry cleaner with a mysterious side hustle, this book had me laughing out loud from start to finish.
Lizz's writing style reminds me of some olde books. I enjoyed Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn as a child, and the storyline styles are very similar to Lizz's.
Funny witty and full of everyday foibles. I think she's a lot like me. Except I don't have veto for a neighbor. And very well edited. Such a joy to read a book that is well edited.
I didn't think anything was fun with these stories. I didn't like the name of her company, I know it was a tongue in cheek thing but NO. The characters were too many and hard to keep track of along with the animals all having human names as well.
Very funny and entertaining book. Loved all the characters which were uniquely quirky. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to reading more by Liz's Lund.
I would not recommend this book at all. I had to force myself to read half of this book. Its the most rediculous unbelievable annoying story i have ever tried to read.
What a delightful romp in the beautiful town of Lancaster PA. Just the right touch of mystery, suspense and snarkiness. I loved the animal humor, and the neighborly antics, and Mina’s recipes too!!
I just love this girl and her drama so funny frightening as well as suspenseful. The other characters are great and I love the monster types. Truly a great story.
This series of books are exactly what the author says they are. Silly stories about silly people doing silly things. They are for entertainment and they are not serious literary attempts. While there are flaws, typos, awkward dialogue, continuity issues, their entertainment value makes it worth turning your inner editor off. My only true complaint stems from being a Lancaster, PA native.
We are not nice. That recurring theme Is purely fiction. The only people who believe it true come from New Jersey and New York. Don't believe me, come for a visit and mispronounce Lancaster, I dare ya.
A fun read, with lots of crazy family & friends. A cooking fetish and a cleaning ex mafia in the protection program. With all the crazy things gs that happen during the holidays, along With a shortage on scotch tape. It's no wonder every one is a little bonkers and on edge, trying to wrap gifts and working part time with Santa and wild kids. This book will have you in stitches. A fun read With lots of antics.
