Something Borrowed, Something Wrong

Rate this book
The wedding of the season in Cozy Cove is set to be a charming affair—until the bride vanishes the night before the ceremony. Her dress hangs untouched, the cake waits uncut, and the town is left wondering whether she bolted or something worse has happened. With no note, no witnesses, and no clear trail, theories flourish like heartbreak, scandal, or a secret too big to carry down the aisle.

Librarian Margot Bellamy is more comfortable cataloging forgotten romances than unraveling real ones, but when a misplaced book and a torn wedding veil turn up in the wrong places, she starts asking the quiet questions others avoid. As rumors twist through the sleepy Florida streets, she follows a breadcrumb trail through borrowed heirlooms, silent photographs, and a past the bride may have been desperate to escape. But when a ransom arrives days later, the mystery takes a darker turn—and the cozy corners of town begin to feel less safe.

As storm clouds gather on the coast and loyalties tangle like lace, Margot must read between the lines of everything she thought she knew. Because someone wanted this wedding stopped—and not for love.

I would like to thank the publisher for this Kindle copy of this book and Goodreads for hosting the giveaway. This is the second book in this cozy mystery series and unfortunately they fell flat to me. I couldn't connect with the characters and the authors writing style wasn't my cup of tea. I love cozy mysteries and really wanted to like them but found it dull and boring.

Denhartog's 9th published book in April of 2025.

Yes, he is publishing almost a dozen books per month using AI. And he'll probably manage to squeeze one more out by May 1.

Love the Cozy Cove Mysteries!
It's exactly what one would expect of a cozy mystery!
A small town wedding, when the bride doesn't show up the town librarian begins to investigate. Along the way she uses her connections with the community and engages with the police who dont quite view the disappearance as suspicious. A fun, quick read!

Small town librarian cozy

Margot's friend, Lindsey, is preparing to get married. But the bride...disappeared. Is she a runaway bride? We she kidnapped? Is she dead? Margot vows to find out what happened. My biggest complaint with this story is the minor characters tended to blend together.

i won this book on a good reads giveaway. although it was an ok story, it tended to run on and never get to the point. more chapters does not mean a better book.

His mysteries are not action filled and fast moving. But, rather, quiet and discrete. Great characters. Moving on to #3.
