My Snake Blake by: Randy Sigel and Serge Bloch is the fiction text that I picked to pair with the non-fiction book Snakes. This book talks about a boy and his pet snake Blake who is the best snake in the world and how he is the most gentile and fun snake in the world. I think that snakes in general get a bad reputation for all being bad, which is what the mom thinks in the beginning of the book. But once Blake the snake reassures her that he is a good snake she warms up to him. All throughout the book, the boy and Blake go around his town and everyone is scared of Blake even though he does nothing to make them feel scared.
