Discovered this book by a local author (Minnesota) which included the use of genealogy and DNA in solving the murder. Since I'm a genealogist and always enjoy a good mystery, thought I would give it a go. Loved it. Well rounded characters, suspenseful mystery. Lots of twists.
When you start, you'll realize her trope emulates another from a couple decades ago.
In light of current events, I found this bit interesting:
p. 205 Mike looks around, "I'll admit, this isn't the Minneapolis one expects to see after watching the news."
"You only ever hear about the bad shit," Nic says. "There's way more good shit that happens here, but you don't hear about that. Fear is what attracts the eyeballs, and therefore ad revenue."
