"Angels" offers evidence that these messengers from God do intervene in our lives, carrying out practical missions of mercy and comfort. Hope Price has gathered the testimonies of hundreds of people to whom angels have miraculously appeared, sometimes in human form, sometimes as beings shimmering with light. Angels have been seen to rescue children and adults from disaster, give early warning of impending tragedy and offer protection in times of fear, danger and bereavement. And always they leave behind a sense of divine peace. The author places these stories in the context of the Bible and historical assumptions about angels.
This was a wonderful, inspiring book! I loved the many stories of how people have been ministered to or protected or guided by angels. And the author made it to point to state that we are not to worship angels. We are to only worship the One who made the angels and to keep our eyes on God's Son, Jesus.
Although this was an older book, it was reallly interesting. There were many descriptions of angel encounters. Most of them took place in England and were told by men, women and children. The encounters had lasting effects on the people and their faith.
I enjoyed this book. I am sure that Angels have protected me many times, although I don't think I have seen one. I loved hearing about other peoples experiences.
Since ancient times, the records show that angels have visited earth to offer help in times of trouble and despair. These welcome celestial visitors appear in many guises and manifestations, to all kinds of people - rich, poor, saint and sinner. They are our guardians and our guides - the shining proof of God's divine love.
This was given to me by my MIL; I read it then, and found it interesting.
