I gave the series a chance, even with the horrible grammar, and mistakes. However, I just can not go on. The story has gone crazy. The main characters are two dimensional and predictable. I just can't even finish this book. Totally disappointed

Why do I do this? I will start a series, hate it and persist to keep reading out of some unknown vendetta. I got these books for free and I read the first three in just over 3 hours.
I hate everything about this series.
It's just awful and I'm sure this was self published.
I put up with the flat, one dimensional characters, horrible grammar and ridiculous love story, but by the time I got to the end of the 3rd book (and i use the word book very, very loosely) I wanted to punch someone in the face.

So for anyone that has read the two preceding novels, you would know that this story makes no sense. Nerdy girl moves from one small town to another small town that is maybe a little bit larger but everyone is rich, drinks, smokes and acts like a douche for no clear reason, aside from our main character. She falls in love with a jock then a guy on a bike the moment the jock leaves her in a lurch. So guy on bike is a vampire. Woo-friggin-Hoo!

They fall in love and she runs away from him.

Then she proceeds to do the same thing in the next two books, but this time she has magic lotion and vampire wings. Really? Why is that even a thing?

I put up with all of that, but I just couldn't contain my rage for a few reasons:

1. Her parents kick her out when a group of psychos ransack their house looking for her. Who does that? Why would you do that? Doesn't she have an aunt and uncle on a farm she can stay with? Is that even legal?

2. She had fancy names for all of the covens, but calls the bad guys "evil vampires" over and over again.

3. Why do the vampires fly and why doesn't anyone seem to notice this? Do air traffic controllers no longer exist? And they sound more like flying monkeys to me than sexy vamps.

4. Why the hell did she start bleeding when she went back to school and what school nurse would be okay with finding blood all over a student and just wiping it away like nothing happened?

5. Would you go to a dance after your parents kicked you out and you know evil-flying-monkey-vampires are looking for you?

I could keep going but I think I made my point.

I cant lie, I will finish this series just so I can complain.

A good book I'm glad I got around to checking this series out I'm a huge fan of vampire books since vampire academy lol. But this book was a good read I don't like Rachel parents at all even though there are a lot of parents who act just like them but heck who could blame them after that happen good read though a 5 star.

Story line mix up

When writing, especially a series of books, the story line has to be plausible, believable and more importantly can not contradict its self. For example one series I have read in the past had a guy get stabbed by a knife. In the gut. The next book in the series the story changed to him getting shot. I have to stop reading this series because at the end of the previous book, racheal's parents found her diary with the lock busted and read the entry that she was going to meet Benji at the castle and that he was a vampire. Her mother even made a scene about the danger her daughter was in. The first few chapters of this book places the parents an siblings at the castle walking around a crime scene , which is not possible by the way, and her sister Sarah finds her key necklace that is the key to her diary. Not only are the cops not keeping it or documenting it, Sarah keeps it and has an epiphany that now they have a key, they can read her diary and find all the answers they need. Hello? What happened to the storyline? I have to stop reading now.

I think this author can't remember what she wrote before or she is outsourcing it to others who haven't read the first 2 books. Also these books so far have taken several ideas from twilight and tweaked them slightly. the only people who will enjoy these are kids under 13 years old. I say this because unless you have a short attention span this will irritate you to read. again wasted money. one last note.... seriously give me a break what parent is going to kick a tenth grader out because she was visited by a creepy set of friends who want to kill her. C'mon.

These books are short but good.

Well I have finished this one and Violet is out to kill Rachel and Benji. Matilda is trying to hold Violet and her crew back so that Rachel and Benji can get the tablet, so that Violet does not get her hands on it. I am now on to book number four 😉 YA paranormal 💖

Spoilers Ahead!! This book starts off with Rachel waking up in a room not feeling herself only to find out she's been turned into a vampire and she has to learn how to be one now that she is one. She isn't taking the changes well and wants to just go back in time and go home. Rachel goes home and ties to acclimate back in school but it isn't easy. Hunter is imprisoned by Violet and discovers that the love of his life Penelope was to imprisoned herself by Violet as well a long time ago. Hunter and Penelope manage to escape imprisonment and go to find Rachel and warn her that Violet is looking for her.

As Rachel is in school Violet arrives at her house to question and torture her parents about her whereabouts. When she gets home she discovers what has happened and is told by her parents to leave her home and never come back. As Rachel leaves her home Violet heads to the school looking for Rachel and end up talking to Rob and then taking him and turning him into a vampire to bring Rachel to her. Violet attacks Rachel at the school Halloween party but Rachel gets away and goes to be with Benji but he is gone when she arrives feeling remorseful for treating him the way that she did and leaving. The book ends with Rachel and Matilda searching for Benji.

A lot of extra words

The story kept my interest but it felt like there were a lot of extra words. There were long descriptions about things that were already clear.

Please please please hire a good editor! There's not much I can say that'd add to what previous reviewers have said (or that would differ from my reviews of the previous books in the series). The story's getting beyond upstaged by the lack of flow, the errors, continuity issues. Instead of continuing to churn out books, I think Emma would be much better served in getting her previous publications cleaned up. Once I'm through all the books I can get via library or for free on Amazon, I don't think I'll be looking up Emma's work in the future. Writing more books gives you more sources for income, but if you're chasing off readers with what's already out there with your name on it, those new books aren't going to do much good. Especially with free books in the series that demonstrate how poorly it's being written - a free book with as many errors as I've seen in these books so far isn't even worth the price. The price of FREE. You're chasing some readers off before they've even paid for a single book! Part of me hopes that maybe this is a problem with the digital editions/that anything you could get in paperback format would be cleaner, but that still isn't an excuse when it's so easy to update a file/push a new version out to everyone. Not sure if Emma reads these, but pretty please invest in a good editor or get some high-quality beta readers. Or, you could do like what I've seen some other author do and offer like a quarter to each valid mistake a reader points out. It wouldn't solve the flow issue, but it'd greatly improve reading what's currently there.

Emma, I love your covers - the artwork is well done. The storyline was sorta ok, but you really need to find someone who can edit your work for you. There were so many mistakes in the story that I felt that you must be a teenager writing these books.

Even still, someone out there should really assist you to make these books a lot better. I gave you a poor review because you also don't read up on your previous work. You make mistakes that mess up the storyline. For example: you have the main character always lock her diary and she wears the key around her neck. End of book one her family finds her diary and breaks it open and finds out about her seeing a vampire.

In book two you twist it all around like the family has never opened the diary and her sister hid it for her return, and it is still sealed. Then later you say her sister read her diary.

Ok, I suggest you re-read all your books and re-edit it and bring it out as a second edition with the corrections done.

Apart from all the errors it was a good effort. I will keep my eyes open to see if there are any improvements in future work.

You have a talent, but you just need to work on it.

There are many editorial mistakes...letters left off and wrong pronoun used. The supporting characters seem to run true from book to book but I get some odd feelings about the main characters. There seems to be something off; an inconsistency.

I'm back...again... How shockingly... I thought book 2 will be the very last review of this series... I lied super hard again. But the only reason I'm doing this because book 4 was free but this book wasn't free.

...

What?

Anyways, I only took a preview because I was being cheap and I bet I will know what will happen in book 4 even without reading the whole novel. So pretty much I don't care. Anyways, see you on the next one. And gladly I read a good book before reading this. So wish me luck on that next one!

I almost didn’t give this 3rd book a shot. To be honest, I’m almost sorry I did. Even though I have downloaded the next few books from this series, I will not be reading them. In fact, I will be going back and removing these books from my device all together.

This author apparently can’t remember what she put in her previous books, because once again, various things in a previous book is completely ignored. Rachel becomes more annoying, and less believable. I wasn’t even sure that was possible. The only thing good about this book is the cover.

This was a cute book. A young girl who has just moved to a new town has fallen for the wrong kid of guy. Obviously this guy is a vampire! When things go very wrong one night on their date she is turned before she dies. Now a war has started and she has to choose to stay a vampire or to be turned back into a human and leave their world for all time...but in doing this she has to let the guy she loves die.

Ok so I gave this series a real vallient effort but I just couldn't finish this book. This is getting ridiculous! There still isn't a very big plot, the charactors are unchanged other than she is a vampire now. Not bringing me in like every other vampire story does. Sorry, can't finish this series. Not worth my time.

I am so disappointed. I thought I would like the book, but it is so dramatized, I couldn't finish it. I love to read but this book was not very good. Maybe the others were better, but I am not going to read them. I appreciate all authors and the work they put into books. I couldn't do it. Sorry I couldn't give it a better review.

Slowly becoming a great read

I will read book 4... my hopes are that it will find the pace that was in book 1. So far the story line is mundane and slow. It is well written and the characters are enjoyable. This is the books saving grace. If you're following the series, you could skip this one and just jump to book4.

Would have given this one 3 stars, but one thing kept bugging me the whole story! In the pervious book, Rachel's mom read her diary, right??? She broke the lock and read it. WELL, in this book they find the key at the castle and claim they need to go home and find her diary! ANNOYING. Otherwise, it was good. Will try the next one.

really?? there are so many spelling errors an s sentences that don't make since. One example that made me mad was when she turned into a vampire and could not see herself in the mirror. when she goes back to school she checks herself in the mirror. this series could of been great if the author re-read her work.

Good read

It was good just to quick It my opinion. I'm glad nothing happened to Hunter well I actually don't know as of yet because it didn't say anything after Rachel left the school. I do want to know what'll happen to Rob. I gotta read part 4 to find all this out about everybody including Emma or was her name Emily lol I forgot .

Solid 3.5! this is finally pulling itself out of the Twilight mold, and is becoming its own story, I do still think she is a little hurried in some places and it can be a bit confusing...but I'm liking where its going now!!

Maybe if I'd read the series from the beginning, I would have been more involved with the characters. By the time I finished this book I was just glad it was over. To me the writing seemed juvenile; and the plot, thin.

HORRIBLE! I can't believe I actually paid for this one, ugh! Biggest complaint with this author is lack of editing and horrible ending/closure/transitions with each book. Not dumb enough to buy book 4
