As the worlds foremost authority on fitness for hiking, author Charles Miske grew up with a love of reading inspired by his mom, who sometimes seemed to never put her books down. As a youth he read science fiction and over the years he's been a fan of mountaineering tales, self-help and how-to books, young adult, paranormal romance, thriller, and horror. In the 90's Charles began writing for regional publications on health and new age topics, and started a martial arts fanzine that he later sold. When the internet burst onto the scene he used his writing skills creating websites for marketing clients. In 2007, after years of working at a desk to build companies, he switched gears to begin building his body and fitness. While sorting through his goals and priorities, he embarked on the Seven Summits Quest, to climb the highest peak on each of the continents. He then began publishing from the journals of his world travels. When not writing, climbing or working out, he loves to sit in a lawn chair on a deck under pine trees and read young adult fiction.
Great for people who are going to go backpacking and hiking, and though I do enjoy my usual stroll when the weather is nice, this book couldn't apply to me all that much. Maybe I'll find someone that it will beneficial for, pass it along to them, and ask them to give a more accurate view. Until then, it's gather dust on my bookshelf.
