John Flaherty is an experienced teacher of spiritual and emotional well-being. An expert in the field of addictions, he has inspired people in many different parts of the world to be free of their addictive behaviours and to live a more fulfilled existence. John began his career as a Catholic priest, but after eleven years he made a life-changing decision to leave the priesthood and to begin his own personal journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-empowerment. Further academic study gave him a BA with honours in theology from Leeds University, England, and a master's in drug and alcohol policy from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
Searching always for the most effective and progressive tools to move beyond limiting beliefs and fears, John became a master practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), time line therapy and hypnosis, and then gained certification as a master practitioner and trainer of Meridian Energy Psychology.
Dedicated to assisting others to transcend their own challenges of life, John's life journey has taken him from England to Ireland and to Canada, where in both the statutory and private sectors he established and managed innovative projects and psychotherapy services for those addicted to alcohol and substance use, for the care of those affected by HIV/AIDS and for the emotional care of families and loved ones. John has developed his own unique and powerful approaches for raising the human spirit, and for more than twenty-five years he has been inspiring and mentoring each person to find emotional freedom, increased confidence, and personal peace.
