The Journey #3

A Journey Home

Rate this book
Even on the calmest of roads, danger can lurk around every corner.

After all that he's been through, Jackson Vane has everything he never knew he wanted. The memories are finally releasing their grip, his body is healed, love has filled his heart, and for the first time, he's living. The journey may be over, but sometimes, endings are beginnings in disguise. He has more to accomplish, more of himself to give, and even more to receive. Life as he knows it is about to change forever as Jackson's journey finally takes him back to Richmond, Virginia. But as experience has taught him, going home is never easy.

Jackson's journey began in book 1, A JOURNEY SPARED, continued in book 2, A JOURNEY TO LOVE, and concludes in book 3, A JOURNEY HOME.

The JOURNEY SERIES trilogy is a heartwarming story about a veteran rising out of darkness after losing almost everything he holds dear. The journey is hard. There will be hardships, pain, heartbreak, and raw emotions. Potential content warning: steamy fade to black romance, coarse language, off-page suicide, PTSD, loss/grief, off-page rape, verbal abuse, and violence (nothing graphic). Despite these warnings, there is plenty of inspiration, hope, sweetness, perseverance, friendships, unbreakable bonds, and unconditional love to balance the scales to a beautiful and inspirational story.

A Journey Home
A Novel Written By Alexandra Grace

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the third book in the author’s The Journey Series.

Former marine Jackson Vane completes his 850 mile journey to run from his hometown Richmond, Virginia to Orlando, Florida. With his journey completed, Jackson returns home to Richmond with more than what he had when he started his quest months before. He now has a purpose for his life, and he also has found the love of his life, Emily.

Once home, starting his new life does not come without obstacles to overcome.

The author has written a powerful conclusion to this series. Both Jackson and Emily are generous and caring individuals who are truly in love with each other. Both characters are going to be difficult to forget. After reading all three books in this series, it’s easy to fall in love with Jackson and Emily.

The series did not start out as a love story. It definitely ended as one. Who knew a retired marine like Jackson could be so romantic. I guess love does that to a person.

“There’s nothing we can’t handle together….”
“We’re unstoppable.”
“Unbreakable.”
“Forever and always.”

What do you say when you finish a series that you want to go on forever? Alexadra Grace did an amazing job of making you see into the life of Jackson and what PTSD can do to a career soldier. If you haven't read A Journey Spared and A Journey To Love, then please go read them. A Journey Home is the third story into Jackson's journey to Orlando.
Jackson's life now has a new challenge..... what do you do when you set a goal and finish said goal? I have to say this is the book for me. I have read 1000's of books, and all I can say is that this book and series are the BEST ever.

I have been so invested in Jackson’s journey and I was so happy to see where it brought him. The story picks up after the events of Jacksonville and we see how everyone is dealing with the aftermath. Once again, we get an unfiltered glimpse on how different people react differently to trauma. We get to see the end of Jackson’s mission and how he deals with the events. I loved how we are still getting the suspense of what is going on with Emily’s house because let’s be honest, I had no clue and I just needed to know. We got to see and feel how each and every one of the characters we grew to love settled in their new chapter of life and I have to say I am a sucker for happy endings.

I loved how this book took every storylines previously started in the first 2 books and tied them all together. Nothing was left unaccounted and everything, every meeting now made sense. I laughed, I cried, I was stressed and anxious, I even got angry. It was a great conclusion to an epic journey and I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves a great story of perseverance, love, strength and how to make the world a little better.

Jackson and Emily, along with Genevieve and Ben, make their way back to Richmond, VA after a huge celebration of Jackson’s accomplishment and cause in Orlando.

All the love that has been growing along the way is about to be tested. They don’t leave their problems behind, it seems as though they follow…

Bumps and roadblocks and some new and old faces test both relationships. Trust, dedication, and strength help to power through and get VETS off the ground and open for Veterans in need.

There are plenty of sweet moments and plenty of surprises to make this thick-spined conclusion to Jackson Vane’s story worth the read, plus some.

Looking forward to more books to come in this series. I’m most excited for a new character’s story hopefully getting a book all his own. Logan…?!

I can’t start this review before saying how elated I am to come across such a heartfelt, harrowing, sweet, and compassionate quest for healing, life purpose, love, and friendship in this beautiful trio about Jackson’s story. After a tragic overseas accident that ends his military career, leaving him heartbroken, battling PTSD and not knowing who he is, or where is home, he finds his happy ending. 🥰🤩

A Journey Home is the perfect ending to Jackson’s novel. Emily has been his solid rock along the way, and after many months of running from Richmond, VA to Orlando, FL to honor fellow veterans and find his purpose in life, Jackson has finally crossed the finish line, but still not sure of what he should do. He is bombarded with a huge media reception and his PTSD takes its toll. Amid all this media circus, an idea hit him like a blessed meteor dropped from the sky, perhaps Will, lending him a hand from heaven.🤗😇

The story still has many twists and turns that you definitely do not see coming. Jackson and Emily have grown a lot throughout the books, finding their purpose and happiness to leave you with a sense of mission accomplished. The secondary characters, not so secondary let me tell you, were perfectly written, adding a lot of depth to the pages. 😍❤️Genevieve and Ben also came a long way together, and their happily ever after warmed my heart to pieces.🥰 And the ending was a big and scary surprise.

Alexandra Grace has masterfully woven a captivating Journey Series that delves into the profound journey of finding one’s purpose, the miraculous healing of wounded souls, the timeless dance of love, and the ever-glimmering hope that mends even the most shattered of hearts.

❤️I truly recommend Jackson's story to everyone looking for an amazing read. A Journey Spared, A Journey to Love, A Journey Home. And it doesn’t end there. A Journey Worth Taking, a prequel novella with Will and Sydney, and coming soon, Sydney and Logan story.

Now that Jackson is reaching the end of his running journey from Richmond to Orlando, he has found a purpose in loving Emily. While Emily and Genevieve are still healing from the events that occurred at the hands of Lucas, Emily knows that Jackson is the love of his life and she'll do anything to stay by his side, moving from Savanah to Richmond with him seems like the right choice.

Ben, on the other hand, is having a hard time with Genevieve. After she allowed Lucas to have his way with her to protect her best friend, G is having trouble adjusting and coping to her new self. Of course she doesn't blame Emily, she could never do that, but she withdraws from herself and Ben feels like she won't let him in.

When Jackson finally reaches Orlando, he is still unsure of what he has accomplished but decides to open up a safe place for veterins, a place he and so many other soldiers never had when they returned from the front lines. Ben and G have called it quits but when G finds out she's pregnant, she decides to tell Ben how she feels. Emily is still being haunted by her past though, and that past has followed her to Richmond. This group of friends will do anything to protect each other, but is it too late?

My thoughts:
@authoralexandragrace you know how much I love you and your books!! This was the perfect ending to Jackson's journey. So much happened in this book, highs and lows for each character and it was perfect. Jackson and Emily are amazing together, Emily is compassionate and such a good person. Jackson's strive to make life better for struggling veterins is admirable. I also really loved Emily's parents! I absolutely love G though, her story was complicated and heartbreaking but I'm so glad she had Ben. I cannot wait for Sydney's story, she needs healing after Will's death and I'm sure Logan will bring that and more!

I have a soft spot for military romance, yet I don’t read much of it. It’s a trope that isn’t always delivered with authenticity. Military veterans experience so much and carry such a heavy burden upon leaving the military. Sure, they feel it while serving, but the weight is easier to carry while living the life of a service member surrounded by those who have been through what they’ve been through. Leaving the security that bond provides can be challenging to say the least. A love story that doesn’t touch on this reality fails to do the reality of former service members justice. This is precisely why I love this series.

The time, care, and consideration that goes into telling Jackson’s story is palpable. You can FEEL how deeply Grace loves her main character and you can’t help but love him too. Jackson, the mission driven man that he is, has set out on a long journey of healing that has spanned the three books of this series. But what happens when he reaches the end of that mission? Will he find what he was looking for? You’ll have to read this beautiful and heartwarming series to find out and I HIGHLY recommend that you do.

This is the conclusion to Jackson's story. I'm not sure how to write a review without spoilers. This part has conflict and a happily ever after. Jackson finishes his journey and finds his purpose with Emily. This series is wonderful. I do still recommend reading these 3 before book 4, even with it billed as a standalone

This is the HEA I’ve been waiting for. So much tragedy and difficulties for both of the couples… but to see them come through the drama to HEA and surprises. I loved the suspense and the twist at the end.
