Amid the rolling hills of northern Thailand, two women from rival farms are drawn together by fate, bound by love, and threatened by the weight of generations-old conflict. Din Kasama, the resilient and fiercely loyal owner of Saenrak Farm, has vowed to protect Rose, the radiant heir of Chomjan Flower Farm. But when long-buried secrets and family pressures turn deadly, Din stands her ground—ready to fight for Rose, even if it means risking her own life. As shadows from the past close in and the truth unravels, Din and Rose must confront the depth of their feelings and the dangers that surround them. Their families are locked in an unspoken war, and their love is a rebellion against forces greater than themselves. With trust tested, loyalties questioned, and a future hanging in the balance, they must will they defy the forces that seek to break them apart, or will their love be yet another sacrifice to the unforgiving land that binds them? In a world where every decision can tip the scale between life and death, they must ask themselves—can love truly conquer all, or will it be buried beneath the weight of the earth?
The translation I got was a bit confusing but nothing terrible. I actually liked this story. It was sweet and easy to read. I kinda wanted to give 4 stars but truly the quality of the book itself was not there. It felt a bit like reading fanfiction. I think I will give it a 3.5⭐️
— 2nd Read
I found a better translation than the first version. Still not perfect at all but it worked better than the first random version I found online. (I got the official kindle edition this time around hehe)
The reason why I decided to re read the story is because the adaptation is underway atm and I wanted to refresh my memory.
I still think the story was very light and even tho it has some dark themes it truly never gets too serious? Like you can tell everything will work out somehow. Kinda like a Disney movie. As long you are not the parents you are safe haha I do wish there were a bit more character development but in general it is a solid good read.
This is the first book I bought and read from the 4 Elements novel series. I was curious about the story and how it would eventually be adapted into a series.
I rated this book 2 stars, mainly because of the confusing translation. Many characters are given two different names. I understand this for the main characters, Din and Rose (Kasima and Thipapa), but the same issue appears with the cousins, such as Lom and Wayo, whose names are written in multiple ways while referring to the same person. This made the story difficult to follow. At times, a character would be mentioned, only for it to turn out to be someone else entirely. It felt like frequent typographical or translation errors, which significantly affected my reading experience.
I’ve read many Thai novels that have been adapted into series, so I admit I had high expectations for this one. This is also my first time reading a work by this author, and honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the rest of the novels. I’ll most likely just watch the series adaptation instead.
As for the story itself, Rose comes across as very childish and overly jealous. I think this is largely due to how her inner monologue is written, but as a result, her character lacks depth. Din’s character, unfortunately, also feels quite flat and uninteresting.
I’ve read fanfiction with stronger character development than this. While other Thai GL novels aren’t perfect either, I think my disappointment stems from having such high expectations for this series, which ultimately made the let-down feel much greater.
My second Thai Gl novel and this was a world wind and my first finished book of 2026.
What did I love: Din and Rose The cousins,
What I didn’t love: Wasu Kawe
It follows Din and Rose, childhood friends who come up with a plan to stop Rose’s family farm from being taken over by a corrupt family ‘friend’. A fake marriage, but the fake marriage puts a target in Din’s back, cause not everyone is happy that Din had married N’Rose.
It’s got the fake marriage trope, chaotic cousins and a sweet falling in love story that made me smile so wide.
Wasu being a dick from the get go gave an edge to the story, you didn’t know what to expect from him and still ended up shocked by it when it happened. The twist of who the traitor was, I had a feeling from the start, and I was glad it went the way I thought it would.
I’ve also had the pleasure of watching the show as it’s come out week and seeing the scenes played out had been such a delight, but I couldn’t stop myself from reading on and finishing this, they’ve tweaked it enough that it adds a newness to the show while also keeps the foundation from the novel.
The translation seemed a bit all over the place at times and may have taken to read a line once or twice but that didn’t prevent me from reading and loving this.
All in all, a great start to the 4Elements series.

This is the first Thai GL novel I’ve read. I mostly just watch GL series, but the 4 Elements collection seemed so interesting that I decided to try the English translation.
Honestly, I was gushing, completely giddy, through the first half of the book. It was fun to read, although a bit predictable, esp the conflict involving trafficking. I kinda wish that aspect had been explored more. Given the farmland setting, it also could have been interesting if the story touched on land issues, such as rights or farming concerns.
The latter part felt slower and somewhat dragging, particularly the misunderstanding between Rose and Din. I was kinda hoping also that Rose had more agency and was portrayed as a stronger character, considering she grew up abroad.
Still, it’s comforting to read wlw romance with a happy ending, no matter how predictable it may be. 555. I’ll probably read Water, Air, and Fire as well.
Well, that was a ride. Not sure how all that's left in the book is fitting in the remaining two episodes. But this really needs a better translation. Considering I read the official translation there were still a lot of errors (wrong pronouns, wrong names) and sentences that just felt clunky. I think watching the series definitely helped me follow the flow of the conversation in spots that might otherwise not have been clear in translation. I also feel like Apple and Mim have done a great job really bringing out the personality of their characters where it sometimes didn't come through as well in the book. Overall a fun read if you've enjoyed the series. 4 stars for the book, less stars for the translation.
What a rollercoaster. This really had everything: action, adventure, love, betrayal, hijinks, and schemes. The translation could have been better and all of the nicknames were really confusing and hard to keep up with but I liked this as an introduction to the series and characters. I'm super excited to read about the rest of the series, namely Wayo and Apo's stories.
Became fan of this author after watching the series. I love the storyline and you brought characters into real life. The pairing Apple and mimu looks cute.
