An ancient power is waking beneath Arenix’s peaks—and I’m the only one who can hear its call. The Council fears me. The Aerie Kin want me gone. Only Iros, a fierce Nyxari hunter bound by duty, walks beside me into the mountains' heart.
He says he's here to protect me. But every brush of his hand, every lingering glance, says otherwise.
In the wilds, there’s no escaping the pull between us. No denying the heat simmering beneath every stolen touch. And when the mountain’s secrets rise to meet us, the real danger won’t just be survival— It will be surrender.
If I fail, this world will fall. If I fall for him… I might never find my way back.
Stranded on an alien world. Bound by ancient power. Each step toward survival forges a bond no heart can escape. Don't miss the next book of the Nyxari Bondmates!
Reader, dreamer and frantic scribbler. I really do believe that love conquers all... and make terrible things for my characters to survive to prove it! (insert evil laugh here)

Jen hears the relentless, painful sounds others cannot hear. It’s all around her. Nyxari voices as well come from everywhere. Nothing seems to dampen the constant sound. Then Rivera altered a neural language headset and Jen could hear actual meaningful words instead of monotonous sounds. She could understand but the delivery of the words remained painful! She needs a filter to make it less painful. Sound in structured cadence finally worked. Then the settlement alarm went off which meant there was a threat or emergency and the noise inside Jen’s head was overwhelming.
An ancient power no one else hears is awakening in the mountain. Iros, a fierce Nyxari hunter, goes with Jen into the mountain to investigate. Iros has been observing certain environmental, physical changes and is aware trouble is coming. They are fighting for their people and for the bond between them. Will they survive? Will she be lost inside if they are separated? Will their people on the surface be able to get through this?
While this was a good story in this great series it was marred by some fairly obvious editing issues with the worst being that one of the character, Pravoka, couldn’t seem to keep their gender straight. One minute they’re male and the next they’re female. Not wanting to get bogged down in a discussion of gender politics I don’t think that was the author’s aim. This was just a bad case of careless editing that, frankly, distracted from the story. Other than that this story was very good with the entire series being amazing. Editing issues aside it is definitely a must read.
The markings on Jen make living in the Nyxari settlement painful. Dissonance is the word of the day. She needs balance to function so she sets out with Iros to search out the cause and try and fix it. Along the way they both overcome many obstacles and perils to reach a balance within themselves and to strengthen their bond. It was exciting and amazing. The world building is so phenomenal you never know what’s going to happen next. I loved it.
I loved everything about this book. The characters, including the newly introduced ones, the settings, and the story. Something about it just sat right with me, and I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end.
My favorite of the series! She’s determined to face what’s awakening beneath the mountains, even when some—including her own protector—doubt her new abilities. I loved how easily they accepted each other — and how well their abilities complemented each other!
Loved the story! It has 5 separate adventures to this story and these characters. Just when you think it might be over, there’s more. Perhaps too much? Still loving this series. Ready to read the next book!
Absolutely astounding book. Human woman with the ability to read the instability of the planet. With help from a Nyxari whose ability is parallel to hers. Together they heal the instabilities and HEA is wow.
The world building is entertaining. The editing needs work. The repeated things falling, energy surges happening just where characters were standing. Too much the same over and over.
Jen and Iros are sent on a mission to hopefully stabilize the mountain. They are to meet with the mountain people. Harmony is achieved at a price. Enjoy
