Samantha Chase is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of contemporary romance that’s hotter than sweet, sweeter than hot. She released her debut novel in 2011 and currently has more than seventy titles under her belt – including THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE which was a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2017! She’s a Disney enthusiast who still happily listens to 80’s rock. When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading romances, playing way too many games of Solitaire on Facebook, wearing a tiara while playing with her sassy pug Maylene…oh, and spending time with her husband of 30 years and their two sons in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
I got this ebook from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca publisher in return for an honest review!
These two stories are cute.
Firstly this is a new adult series, therefore, expect mature themes.
Now, I'm not much of a contemporary romance- kind of girl, but i did smile at this one. Which is a big deal considering Fantasy is my thing!
These stories were adorably Cliche, that doesn't always have to be a bad thing. Yes i knew what would happen beginning, middle and end. But isn't that the thing in most contemporary romances?
So i won't go into plot details because there are two stories and giving anything away would be major spoiler. However, let's just say that the common thing in both stories is a funny Match- Making Father.
I, personally, really liked the first story- Lucas Montgomery's story...come on, wounded NFL player?
These two stories are totally 100% about the romance. Usually i like a good back story to the tales and not the whole 'I love you' craze. That being said, it kind of worked for this one.
My peeve- Lots of sleeping together...like, they're machines! HOWEVER it is non-descriptive- you know they did it, but it doesn't go into the gory details. Thank God.
So yea, its a short, light and very romantic read.
These are the first two books in the Montgomery series by Samantha Chase and both are full length novels. We are introduced to the Montgomery family and their family business Montgomerys along with many other staff members. It was nice to have the two books in one volume since they follow the Montgomerys and Trust in Me picks up where Wait for Me leaves off. The author is reminiscent to me of Sherryl Woods, Susan Wiggs and Susan Mallery where family is all important and William, their dad, is reminds me of Mickey O'Brien in Sherryl Woods' Chesapeake Shore series - both are matchmakers!
Wait for Me is the first book in this contemporary romance series and we really get to know William and his three sons, Lucas, Mac and Jason. Mom, Monica, seems to be the rational one in the family. In this book the focus is on Lucas, an ex pro football player that was injured and keeps to himself because of his limp and his fall from fame. He mainly works from his home in the mountains but goes into the office periodically for meetings. Enter Emma, who is his dad's executive assistant, and has a huge crush on him. When they are thrown together due to William's matchmaking and a raging snow storm compounds things, the sparks do fly and there are burn up the sheet moments. They try to fight their attraction without success but since Emma feels he's not helping himself to heal and lead a productive life they tend to argue more than anything. They are also very independent and don't like having to lean on one another or anyone else. When the storm ends and they go their separate ways neither is happy with the situation but don't know what to do about it and William feels the brunt of their wrath when they find out what he's been up to. There are family, friends, business, anger, hurts, injuries, lots of snow, new directions, romance and love. The prologue and epilogue were wonderful additions to the story and there were several happily ever afters.
Trust in Me segues right in from Wait for Me and is Jason and Maggie's story. How they meet - thanks to dad, William and his matchmaking once again - is entertaining and involved. Maggie becoming Jason's assistant and needing to travel with him when she has a lot of baggage from her past is heartbreaking at times but it's heartwarming how she comes to realize that the Montgomery's are nothing like her past boss. As Maggie and Jason try to keep a business like relationship when their chemistry sizzles is fun to watch. There are burn up the sheet moments and fireworks too. They also move ahead in their relationship and then take two steps back. The relationships between the brothers and their parents is once again strong. There are family, friends, business deals and lot of travel, bad memories, loneliness, fear, angst, unhappiness, secrets, happiness, romance and love. My emotions were fully engaged and there was both laughter and tears. Watching Jason and Maggie tiptoe around each other and then go for it all was interesting to watch. The prologue and epilogue once again great as it introduces us to the story and then gives us the necessary closure along with the happily ever after.
I've now read all the books in the series since I had previously read Stay with Me, Return to You and Meant for You. I look forward to reading her other books including her new series, The Shaughnessy Brothers and hope they are as multifaceted as the Montgomery Brothers!
Wait for me – Lucas' family wants to get him out of his depression and back living his life. Emma has loved Lucas for a while, but never acted on her feelings. When the two are stranded together during a blizzard, sparks fly and Lucas comes out of his shell. But once he finds out his father was the mastermind behind Emma being out in the blizzard, will Lucas walk away feeling that he has been manipulated or will true love win in the end. This story was a great read filled with characters from another family saga that is filled with heartwarming emotions and page turning plot. Cannot wait for more in this series.
Trust in Me – Jason Montgomery needed an assistant to travel on a long business trip, preferably someone who was all business and married. Maggie gets the promotion and fits the criteria. However, sparks fly and mutual attraction happens, but Jace will not cross the line. But what happens if her marriage is fake? Will the reason she lied about being married come back from her past and ruin her future? Or will Jace finally put his love life ahead of his job? Another great read with tons of emotion and beautiful character dynamics. Looking forward to reading more in the series.
WAIT FOR ME--> 3 iffy stars--WAIT FOR ME is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is former NFL star Lucas Montgomery and executive assistant Emma Taylor’s storyline.
Emma is William Montgomery’s assistant and William sees something between his son Lucas and his long time PA. What ensues is a ruse perpetrated by Lucas’s father to push together his son and Emma Taylor that eventually ends in a happily ever after but getting there is a comedy of errors and a weekend of temper tantrums, fights and immature behavior.
Lucas is a recluse. A career ending football injury finds Lucas hiding away in a cabin in the woods where he only ventures into the real world for the once monthly meetings with his father and brothers. Lucas has pinned his entire existence on his football career and with the loss, Lucas sees himself as a failure.
Emma is a bit of an enigma. We learn very little about her background or family information. She is a woman who loves to bake and when things begin to fall apart, Emma looks for work at a small town bakery.
The relationship between our couple is acrimonious at best. I felt no spark, no sexual tension and definitely no love between Lucas and Emma, and in this the storyline fell completely flat. The up and down emotional roller coaster was almost bi-polar in its’ reveal; the attitudes and temper tantrums were that of young children who didn’t get their way. They continued to fight and argue until the final pages of the story. The $ex scenes are all implied; fade to black wherein our couple wake up the next morning or days later where the reader is to presume that something happened between the leading couple.
The secondary and supporting characters include the interfering parental units of William and Monica Montgomery who seem to have a knack for arguing and displaying emotional outbursts on a regular basis; and Lucas’s brothers, Jason and Mac who are but a blip on the radar at this point in the series. The world building is limited as the storyline focuses on the building relationship between Lucas and Emma. I am not quite sure what it is the Montgomery family do to earn their millions but it would have been nice to see some information and detail revealed.
WAIT FOR ME was a disappointing read. The constant fighting, lying and manipulation was a distraction to the overall enjoyment of the storyline. I felt no connection to any of the characters.
~~~~~~
TRUST IN ME --> 3.25 stars-- TRUST IN ME is the second installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is Jason Montgomery and Maggie Barrett’s storyline. TRUST IN ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from third person perspective, TRUST IN ME finds William Montgomery, yet again, playing matchmaker for his two remaining unmarried sons. The storyline follows the building relationship between Jason and Maggie. Ever since his brother’s marriage to personal assistant Emma Taylor (Wait For Me #1), Jason has believed himself the target of every single woman at Montgomery Enterprises. With a three week business trip on the horizon, Jason needs a personal assistant who isn’t about to take things to a personal level-enter Maggie Barrett-a receptionist at his father’s company and a married woman-or maybe not! Maggie’s has a secret-one that finds our couple in a precarious position time and again. William offers up Maggie Barrett as Jason’s new PA, with the hopes of another successful Montgomery mating.
There is very little background information revealed about Jason Montgomery. We know he his loyal, well trusted, works for his father William Montgomery and that a bevy of beautiful and not so beautiful woman at work are trying to get Jason’s attention. Maggie is a woman whose past is mired in betrayal, and her position within Montgomery Enterprises finds Maggie hiding in plain sight.
The relationship between our leading couple is one of immediate attraction but Jason believes Maggie is married and our hero is having a difficult time keeping business and pleasure separate. While away, an opportunity presents itself for a night out on the town, wherein Maggie forgets about her ‘marriage’ and crosses the line of no return. Once again, I did not feel a connection to the couple; the sexual tension between Jason and Maggie was missing and virtually non existent. The limited $ex scenes are all implied and fade to black.
The secondary and supporting cast include Jason’s brothers Mac and Lucas, as well as William Montgomery-the family patriarch. The world building skims the business ventures of Montgomery Enterprise-I am still unsure as to the exact nature of the billion dollar business but they do appear to be very big and powerful.
A snowed in love story? Gimme gimme gimme! I started reading this one and fell for the premise instantly, then fell for Emma and Lucas. The two of them have an attraction that has been there for awhile. Since Lucas has been hiding himself away from the world, his father decides to send Emma his way in an attempt to bring him back to normal civilization. His plan gets them together during a blizzard that ends up being much worse than originally anticipated. Emma and Lucas are stuck together for a long time, and their desires begin to take over. Once things are back to normal post-snowstorm, someone is going to have to speak up before they lose each other forever.
Wait for Me is one of the sweetest little love stories. Two people being snowed in together while fighting their feelings makes for one of my absolute favorite cozy reads. Emma and Lucas are both stubborn, but they care. It takes some time for them to learn how to meet halfway, to really get to know each other and understand, but they're willing to try. Definitely a great book to start The Montgomery Brothers series by Samantha Chase!
My Rating: Very Good
~TRUST IN ME~
My Thoughts:
When I discovered the premise behind this one, I was already sitting at the edge of my seat. It's one of those stories where in your head you're just fighting the urge to freak out over the chemistry between the two main characters because of the whole "pretending to be married" thing. Maggie's background as to why she chose to fake being married makes you empathize majorly. Jason is glad to have Maggie as an assistant since she's already married. That way they can both focus on the job. Unfortunately for them, the attraction is too strong and Jason is fighting an epic battle to be the good guy while Maggie is trying to keep up appearances. When the truth comes out, all bets are off.
Trust in Me was so cute and engaging. It tore me up watching the two of them struggle with their feelings for weeks. Lucas and Maggie's chemistry pulls you in and you never want to let go of the idea of them together. You can feel the pain they're both facing, and your heart goes out to them. I thought it was an amazing and realistic portrayal of such a tough dilemma. This is the second book in The Montgomery Brothers series I've read, and it most certainly won't be the last by Samantha Chase!
1st book- I adored Lucas and Emma together. I loved the sly looks they gave one another in the beginning. I loved how his parents tried to play matchmaker through the book and you could tell how much they loved Emma for her son. I did think they went through a lot as a couple that caused a lot of tension so that was a bit much. Overall I liked it. The characters were well written and they worked well together once they finally moved pass the lies and tension.
2nd book- jace and Maggie started out a bit weird. The whole time he's thinking she is married and yet he still kisses her a few times so that kinda bothered me. Maggie should have told him once they started to get close. I get why jace brought that jerk to the office but Maggie over reacted that's not what I expected from a heroine who is trying to be strong and over the past. I love the characters and how the brothers act when they speak to each other. I am really hoping the next book doesn't have anything to do with an assistant. That's getting a bit old but I am excited to read about Mac.
Wait For Me is a about a young man who was a former NFL star who was seriously injured and took to hiding away from everyone including his family. The few times Lucas Montgomery visits his family’s business, his father catches the way Emma Taylor an office assistant looks at his son Lucas and the way his son looks back at her when she doesn’t notice. His father decides that sweet Emma Taylor is exactly what his son needs to come back out of his hiding. But playing matchmaker won’t be easy. Emma is seriously lusting after Lucas but he pays no attention to her. Just when she decides she needs a much needed vacation, Mr. Montgomery comes in with an offer that she can’t refuse. But Emma nor Jason know what Mr. Montgomery has planned for them. Can Emma and Jason survive being with each other? And is she the one woman who can help Jason come back to being who he was?
Samantha Chase has done an amazing job in creating characters who are too irresistible to not read. Her novel will the Montgomery men will keep readers coming back for more hot, sexy, and compelling stories. I highly recommend this book and many of her other novels to readers world-wide. I give this story a five out of five stars.
Trust in Me by Samantha Chase brings back the irresistible Montgomery men and the new women in their lives. With Lucas and Emma together, Mr. Montgomery plans to continue to play matchmaker once again. This time his second youngest son, Jason Montgomery is the next victim of his father plans. Unlike his brother Jason never suspects his father bringing him and his new assistant together. Jason soon realizes that his new assistant is definitely talented enough to handle everything. He didn’t want an assistant to come after him expecting him to fall in love with her. But, Jason does exactly that. The more time he and his assistant work together the more he fall s under her spell. His new assistant is single but suffered from a bad past that involved her boss trying to rape her. Mr. Montgomery, Jason’s father came to her rescue and gave her a secure job within his company and made it clear to everyone that she was married. Even his son Jason believes that even when he would love for that fact that his assistant to be single. And when Jason learns about his assistant’s past and the false lie about her marriage will he do everything possible to make her his woman?
Samantha Chase has once again, created a masterpiece. Her novel will have readers falling in love. A must read and a perfect romance for all. I highly recommend readers to pick up Samantha Chase’s novels and begin reading them. I promise you won’t be disappointed that you did. Overall, I rate this novel a five out of five stars.
Wait for Me - This story was actually very cute. The premise of sending someone up the mountain to get snowed in and hopefully fall in love is a little strange, but the friendship between Lucas and Emma made it work. And the fact that Emma didn't let Lucas get away with his shit worked even better. She wasn't wiling to baby him like the rest of his friends and family were and that just made her seem like such a strong person.
Trust in Me - Let me just start off by saying that I wasn't in love with Jason. The story starts with him insisting on traveling with a married assistant because his single assistants have propositioned him. Just from that conversation he seemed like a douche. While Maggie was another strong female character, I just felt that she was way too good for him.
I felt for her, especially when we find out what happened with her former employer and why she had left the position of executive assistant behind. But that said, she put Jason ahead of herself on too many occasions. I would've loved to see her stand up for herself a bit more and not constantly just accept the scraps Jason had to offer.
I enjoyed Wait for Me more. Lucas and Emma worked well together, and she really called him on his bs. Jason and Maggie in Trust in Me seemed to suffer from a lot of drama for drama's sake.
I am not a fan of the bouncing POV, and as this is an early Chase novel it's prevalent here. (I'm not saying a book can't have more than one POV, in fact I prefer when there are at least two - his and hers. Just I want clear breaks in between or, better yet, keep them separated by chapters. Don't have a conversation between three people and then put us in each person's head repeatedly.)
One problem, though:
Still, Chase's writing style is smart and the pacing is quick. Characters and dialogue are rich and snappy. I will definitely continue with the series.
The problem with not updating Goodreads while you're reading is that it's difficult to remember the books you finished a month ago... I remember very little of these stories, but I'm fairly certain this is the author that had EGREGIOUS head hopping that was confusing and frustrating. I almost put it down in chapter one. Probably should have. But, I'm pathetic in wanting to finish what I start, so I plugged along. The characters were interesting enough that I wanted to find out what happened, but it wasn't a pleasure getting there. I don't really recommend it, but I want to find out about the last brother, so I'll read the last one (thankfully there's only one more!) to round out the series. If that isn't confusing as a recommendation/non-recommendation, I don't know what is.
Wait for Me ~ Family interference, gotta love it. This was a great series starter, I can't wait to dive into book two. :)
Trust in Me ~ Jason is the typical middle child. Dead set on NOT finding someone at the office like his little brother did. Will dad play match maker again? Guess you will have to read it to find out!
This was by no means bad, but it was simple-ish, cute-ish, good-ish. If you're looking for a light easy reads with a HEA, this is a good place to start.
Wait For Me
William Montgomery wants to see more of his youngest son Lucas. Ever since Lucas' pro football career was cut short because of a knee injury, he's been a recluse. Only coming down from his home in the mountains once a month for a meeting concerning the family business. When William notices the way Lucas and Emma (his assistant) look at each other when they think neither is watching, he hatches an idea to play matchmaker. And if he gains a daughter-in-law in the process, so be it.
This story had a classic setting, sort of. The stranded-in-the-snow-and-have-to-stay-the-night scenario between two people who are attracted to each other, is classic anyway. I just felt that it focused more on the 'isn't it odd for dad (William) to give you my address instead of his' aspect, than it did on the actual romance. It overshadowed what was happening between the two of them. But, hey, it all works out in the end. Still a pretty good read.
Trust In Me
William Montgomery is at it again, this time with his next to youngest son, Jason.
When Jason requests a married assistant to go on a three week business trip, (because his other assistants have tried to become the next Mrs. Montgomery after Lucas and Emma's relationship started at the office), William knows the perfect woman.
Maggie has been working in customer service at Montgomery's for three years, although she's qualified for a higher position. She's been keeping a low profile because her previous boss tried to force himself on her and Mr. Montgomery came to her rescue by giving her a job and telling everyone that she was married, per her request, so no one would try to come on to her. Jason has no idea she's not really married...
I really like the idea of William fixing up his sons. It's an endearing way to make them happy while making his close family bigger. Now, we just need Mac's story, which I'm sure the author is saving for last because he's the most stubborn.
I liked Jason and Maggie's story better, probably just because I was interested in seeing how William was going to pull this one off. Just like before, the situation was one that neither character expected to find themselves in. I do think they should have told Jason sooner about her not really being married...poor guy tortured himself, but it did make for a nice story.
These romances are short and sweet. The writing is good, as is the concept, and I would recommend them to romance fans.
I received a copy of Wait for Me and Trust in Me through NetGalley from the publisher/author for an honest review. I'm not a super fan of the matronly relative/grandparent/geriatric matchmaker genre that seems to be popular lately. They meddle and it's a little cutesy for my tastes. Since I did enjoy the story line and characters in these two stories, I easily overlooked the creepy dad trying to help his kids get some mattress action a la DadMatchMaker.com.
About half way through Wait for Me, I wasn't exactly sure if I really loved the book or not. It was ok, but it felt almost too sweet in comparison to a lot of the more intense and graphic books being published today. In a way it had an old-fashioned way it was written - sweet and fades out when you get to the hanky panky parts. I'm really glad I stuck with it, because the story took a more intense turn around the 60% mark. We finally started seeing more depth to Emma than the sweet, always out to please everyone heroine. Of course, Lucas is an idiot at the end and obviously redeems himself, but personally I would have made him grovel more. By the end of Wait for Me, I really enjoyed the story.
I immediately started reading Trust in Me - Maggie and Jason's story. Reading both books back to back helped to keep the momentum building for this family. This book had a little different tone to it centered around an incident with Maggie's former employer. The author definitely pulled off creating the right amount of tension and chemistry between the characters without making me feel like HR needed a call considering Maggie's past experience. Again, we know Jason is going to be an idiot because these guys can't help themselves.
I definitely would recommend this series as these first two are a nice change of pace from overly dramatic and darker reads. Although the romantic interludes fade out, the author does a great job creating tension and chemistry between her characters that leave a lot to the imagination.
Emma Taylor and Lucas Montgomery know one another from work. She works as an assistant to his father. He comes in after being forced once a month to do so.
Emma is needing a break after working so hard. Her boss offers her a deal she cannot pass up. She is in an accident and ends up at his sons cabin.
Lucas is formerly an NFL football player who has a severe knee injury. He cannot see his dreams come true and wonders why he should get his knee fixed if he cannot live his dream.
When Emma ends up outside his cabin, Lucas does what any decent person would do - he brings her inside and helps her recover. He is worried that he is attracted to her, since she technically works for his company and is fighting the attraction to him also.
Such a great story - even though there is an interfering old coot who makes them lose their tempers when they find out they have been swindled! Can true love survive being messed with?
Trust in Me:
Maggie Barrett and Jason Montgomery met when he needed an assistant. She already worked for the company, and was asked to take the position. She does not want it.
Maggie had a traumatic experience happen with another employer in her past and prefers the quiet anonymity of customer service to the assistant position. Jason needs her help to expand the company he and his family are so proud of.
Off to a rough start, they have a whirlwind tour that brings them closer together by working most everyday - all day. In between, they find they may even be friends. Still, Jason does not know Maggie's secrets. Can their be love without trust?
Jason, on the other hand, wants to rush in after he starts to feel for her. Only to find himself falling for a married woman. Can the obstacles be resolved? Is it too late to learn to trust if the love came first? These are things they need to work out. The secrets have got to go.
The chemistry between them is explosive, and for the first time in many years Maggie feels herself falling for a man she can trust. Can she fix things with him in time to make it work? Maybe true love can conquer all. This was a really interesting read.
***This ARC copy was given free from Netgalley.com and its publishers, for review purposes only. My honest opinion does not reflect Netgalley nor its affiliates.
I found this book to be okay. Not fantastic, not bad, just...meh. My biggest problem was the feeling of head-hopping. At one point I think we were in three different POVs in the space of a page. Lucas in particular seemed a bit immature, though I do get his problem and wanting to retreat from the world.
Wait For Me - Lucas's injury would be devastating for a pro athlete, but his total retreat from the world seemed a bit ridiculous. Emma - I really liked her for the most part, though during the blackest moment of the book, I thought she was a bit ridiculous as well at the lengths she went to. I enjoyed seeing her make a career shift, but felt it came too quickly and easily when there had been relatively little hint she wanted to shift jobs, and then when she did it came so effortlessly/convenient (deus ex machine perhaps). The final "I love yous" were sweet, but again the thing that drove them apart just seemed over the top to me.
Trust in Me - I enjoyed Trust more than I did Wait, and I think in part because both of the characters felt more realistic and grounded than those in Wait. Jason was a good man (a bit egotistical perhaps, but given apparently every woman wants to marry him maybe he has room for ego), and genuinely comes to appreciate and admire Maggie. I felt the genuine growth in both characters and believed in their path toward romance. The one stumbling block for me to bar it from liking it more than I did was toward the end when Jason has his showdown with the jerk from Maggie's past. I felt, again, that the whole thing seemed a bit unrealistic and, surprisingly given it's a Sourcebooks book, badly edited. I felt like something, maybe a page or two, went missing somehow because there was no hint of what was about to happen, just POOF, Maggie walks in and (of course) leaps to the wrong conclusion. Still, the make-up was lovely.
What for me saved both books was I loved William (the meddling dad). I really enjoyed watching him try to maneuver his kids into finding what he clearly has with his wonderful wife.
So - this is a hit AND miss for me. Still, I'll continue reading Ms. Chase's work in the future.
Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Wait for Me Wait for me wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I figured they were going to be thrown together and of course there would be tension. But with this one it was good. Not extraordinary but good. Lucas Montgomery was a famous NFL Quarterback, he had everything he wanted until and injury that would not get better took that away from him. With the pain and loss he secluded himself away from everyone including his family. Emma works for the Montgomery's as an assistant to William, Lucas's father and owner of the company. She has been there for a while and respects all the Montgomery's. When William needs papers, she will travel into the mountains to get him those papers. Until a snowstorm blows everything off track. There is romance, a jerk, an interfering well meaning father, and an assistant who just doesn't back down. I liked this one and have already started the second book. Trust in Me Trust in me was addictive. Samantha Chase writes a story that drags you in and doesn't let you out. William Montgomery is at it again. Maggie needed to be rescued years ago and now he wants her to help Jason on a project that will require her to be on the road him helping keeping everything flowing. Jase knows he requires someone who is married, has a great work ethic, and now thanks to his brother, someone who iwll just be there to do the job. After the last few assistants have displayed more interest in him than working, Maggie is exactly what he needs. The business trip doesn't go as either of them expected. It was good and I liked it alot.
WAIT FOR ME: Lucas that boy gets easily distracted, "when she nodded to the bubbles and then looked back at him, he got the picture. “Oh, right. Sorry,” he said and backed out of the bathroom, closing the door behind him." I liked that he gave his girl compliments, "he’d grabbed the magazine from her hands. “Ten positions to make him crazy in bed?” He looked at her incredulously, reading the rest of the headlines on the cover of Cosmo. With a chuckle, he handed it back to her, then leaned down and placed a searing kiss on her lips. “Trust me, Emma , there’s nothing that article can teach you." The boy has some stamina, "it’s been a long time since I’ve had sex standing up like we did last night,” he gave her a sexy grin, “multiple times. My knee is just a little sore today." I liked this book. TRUST IN ME: I liked Jason, "Jason stopped her. “Whoa, we’re going to eat lunch like normal people and not talk business for the next fifteen minutes, okay?" I liked that Maggie was bold and could drive her man crazy, "nice outfit,” she said saucily , and got up on tippy -toes to place tiny kisses along his chin. “You look good in my sheets.” Jason let out a low growl as her hands began to wander over his chest, his shoulders, and his arms." I liked this book more that Lucas's.
I got this ebook from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca publisher in return for an honest review!
I loved these two books! Loved the characters!
Wait for Me Former NFL superstar Lucas Montgomery is perfectly fine in his self-imposed solitude until sweet, sexy and completely off-limits Emma Taylor comes crashing into his world...
Lucas & Emma just might be my favorite Montgomery brother story so far! I love the instant chemistry between them. Emma is William's (Lucas's father) assistant. When he asks her to bring some paperwork to him, she ends up in Lucas's cabin. I love how they push each other back and forth. It's great! A sweet, sexy, light read!
Trust in Me With a make-or-break business expansion in the works, the last thing Jason Montgomery needs is a hands-on assistant who wants to get her hands on him...
I really liked Jason in Wait for Me. I liked how Trust in Me started off with Jason not wanting to be set up. I like how reserved Maggie is at the beginning of the book. Very cautious. She has secrets that she has hidden and Jason finds himself questioning those. I love the banter between them. Maggie is definitely best friend material.
The key player in both books is William.. their dad.. the matchmaker :)
This is a bundle of Book 1 & 2 of the Mongomery series. We are introduced to Lucas & Jason, two of the brothers. Wait For Me is book 1 and is Lucas & Emma's story. They had been fighting an attraction for some time. Lucas has been hiding away & his father sent his assistant, Emma to drag him back home. They ended up being trapped together in a snow storm and ended up acting on the attraction. When they are back home will they be able to stay together?
Book 2 is Jason & Maggie's story. Jason is happy that his assistant Maggie is married. That way they can concentrate on business and not have any funny stuff happen. He just didn't count on the fact that he would be attracted to her and have to fight it so hard. When Jason finds out that Maggie is pretending to be married to stop anyone from hitting on her, all bets are off. Will they give in to their attraction? Will anything come of it?
Both stories are cute romance HEA's. The characters all are trying to fight the attraction and not get in too deep. None of them are ready for love. The plots are realistic and easy to follow but keep you interested in them until the end. In both cases, the characters have to learn to go outside themselves and trust the others. Good books!
In Wait for Me: Book 1 in The Montgomery Brothers series was sweet, funny, and I couldn't put it down. We meet Lucas Montgomery and he's retreated after an accident. Just wants some peace and quiet until his father does something to change things up a bit. Emma Taylor will do anything for her boss, but what happens next when she comes face to face with Lucas, his son will have you thinking something isn't right, or she has been set up. It's pretty great to see what happens with these two.
Trust in Me-Jason Montgomery takes work-a-holic to a new level until he meets Maggie. He's panicked because he is need of a new assistant. The business trip is extremely important to the company. He needs someone with him. When it's suggested that Maggie Barrett be going he isn't sure, but she qualifies in that she's married. The big factor for him.
Something happens while on the trip between Maggie and Jason. Not sure what to make of it, because surely nothing could ever come out of it.
A turn of events makes Maggie look at Jason differently. You'll see why.
I just love these four characters. Both books were amazing. Highly recommend.
The Montgomery patriarch is trying to find love for his 3 head strong sons. This book includes the stories of Lucas and Jason Montgomery. Lucas is a former NFL Football star who is so stubborn he would rather stay injured than admit he needs help. Emma saves his life by loving him and forcing him to accept that he isn't 'fine'. Perfectly heartwarming and enchanting, steamy and passionate.
Now Jason is the workaholic, always at working neglecting his home life. Ever since Lucas fell in love with Emma, Jason has been plagued with assistants trying to seduce him. Maggie has had a hard time with her previous boss trapping her and trying to force himself upon her, William Montgomery saved her, offering her a job and an opportunity to start a new life. She pretends to be married to ward of advances which lands her in the perfect spot to be Jason's traveling assistant. They spark hard and fast creating a love that will last only if Jason reforms his workaholic ways...
Definitely books to follow and love, to re-read over and over again,
Wait For Me (Montgomery Brothers Book 1) by Samantha Chase
Wow Samantha Chase really knows how to write a book. Once again Samantha delivers a great read. Samantha is an amazing author whose writing style is perfect.
In Wait for me we are introduced to the Montgomery family. We meet Lucas Montgomery and Emma Taylor. Lucas is a recluse. He hides out and very rarely comes in to town. Lucas is an ex quarterback who suffered a bad knee injury. Emma is William Montgomery's assistant. When Lucas and Emma are forced together sparks really start to fly.
I loved reading this book and found myself wishing I was a Montgomery. I loved watching Emma and Lucas grow. Their story was very powerful. I found the characters personal struggles to be realistic. I found myself laughing and my heart swooning throughout the book. This was a great first book to a new series. I found that I did not want the story to end. Samantha Chase never disappoints her readers and this was a very good read. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
I highly recommend this book. A must read for everyone.
MY REVIEW: WAIT FOR ME/TRUST IN ME BY SAMANTHA CHASE Wait for Me / Trust in Me by Samantha ChaseMy rating: 5 of 5 stars Great book. These two stories definitely left me wanting more. Samantha Chase did a good job of showing what close family bonds look like with the Montgomery family. Each story drew me in and held me captive until the very end. So want to read the rest of the series. Received a copy of this book for an honest review. (www.goodreads.com/review/list/2555691...)
2 longer than novella length stories but shorter than full length e-book romances are combined here to make one book that features stories about 2 of the Montgomery brothers. The stories are about 2 very decent women that the grandfather patriarch of the family schemes to match with his two sons. The length of the stories is awkward; they are not long enough to get into too much depth, but they are too long to have a short and sweet, easy HEA. Emma and Lucas argued and yelled at each other too much in the first story, so I had trouble enjoying it much at all.After much build-up to the intimate scenes, the details were totally skipped, OK but a bit jarring for today's romances.I liked Jason and Maggie's story much better and really rooted for their happy ending. I will look for some of Samantha Chase's other work.
This is two novel in one. Both books tell of how William the matriarch of the family plays Cupid to his boy's. In the first novel Lucas Montgomery has locked himself away from his family since his injury from the NFL. Lucas comes once a month to town for the family business meeting. It's there William notice the spark between his assistant Emma with his son Lucas. How he goes about laying the set up for them being together is humorous funny and loving.. In the second novel Jason the other brother cannot keep an assistant since all think they would strike gold too like Emma and keep flirting with him. That is when William hatch a plan and set Jason up with Maggie who allegedly is married but is not(only William knows the truth) what follows is Jason starting to feel attracted to her but feeling guilty. Sweet cute stories.
