Ashes of the Storm

Rate this book
A love tested by secrets. A future built on courage. The storm is coming and they must fight to stay together.Eva Quinn has given up everything for her time, her identity, and the life she once imagined. With unresolved feelings and an uncertain future, Eva travels to 1881 France with Henry in hopes of reuniting with his sister, Lottie.

Meanwhile, Henry faces his most personal battle, one that challenges both his love and his sobriety. As his grip on control begins to slip, the fragile trust between them is tested like never before, and the line between hope and heartbreak grows thinner with every step.

But when ghosts from the past reappear and long-buried secrets surface, their journey takes a dangerous turn. Threats close in on all sides, forcing them to confront old wounds, make impossible choices, and summon the courage to either hold on or finally let go.

As love is tested and their future hangs in the balance, Eva must decide who she truly is and where she belongs. For Henry, the true victory lies not in control, but in accepting himself—scars, flaws, and all.

Ashes of the Storm is a poignant and gripping conclusion to the beloved trilogy, blending historical romance with suspense, found family, and the enduring search for home.

Perfect for readers who believe in soul-deep love, second chances, and the courage it takes to choose your own path.

This third book was so promising, but I found it lacking. It felt like the same cat-and-mouse chase all over again, without any new energy or direction. The new characters, who were supposed to add something fresh to the story, unfortunately did very little for me.
I must say, though, that the New York detective Montgomery was very intriguing. I honestly wouldn’t mind reading a whole book about him if the author ever decided to write one.
