Sanctum is the third book in this fast-paced, action-packed Christian thriller series. Think David Baldacci, James Patterson, Mark Dawson, and Lee Child meet Colleen Coble, and Lynette Eason. This is a modern-day re-telling of the King David story. The establishment will stop at nothing to stop David Shepherd's rise to power - and assassination isn't off the table.
This author has impressed me with this series. This author has penned a thrilling read, in the true sense of the word, full of drama, tension, political intrigue, second chances and unwavering faith in this Christian read. He's pulled in all the right elements, blending them superbly, I'm captivated more with each book. He gives a very plausible and realistic account of state vs church, power vs righteousness, he weaves his magic prose with such flair, I'm soooooo vested in the characters, especially David and Michal, I mentally urge them on, I want them to succeed. I'm completely wrapped up in the journey, making this a compelling and unputdownable read, with my sights set on the outcome.
David has come so far from his military days, even further than his soup kitchen days, now he's on the cusp of being a leader of the highest order. His faith is unshakable, the entire fibre of his being is to spread the Will of God, to spread His love in a totally unjudgemental manner as only one with strength of faith as he holds, can achieve. It's not without perils, it's not without danger. In the shadows, lurk those who would see chaos, not harmony. Who spread lies and misinformation. Who are gunning for David. The conspiracies are not theories, they're real and very dangerous. The influence of the Sanctum is vast, burrowing like worms, everywhere imaginable. A well oiled machine, they take down all in their path and this is what David and co are up against. But, David has got a few key players in his camp, God for one, Sarah former FBI, Marco ex military, Alex strategist extrodinaire and the late President's children too.
The cat and mouse game is on... this book is like a behind the scenes exposé of corruption and cut throat politics on a grand scale. With the President's assassination, his children's lives in danger, David's campaign, they flee, to strategise, to stay alive. David will not compromise on what is right, on what he stands for, and that is a free and transparent government, one who truly works for the betterment of the people without having to make shady deals along the way. But goodness, the challenges he and his team faced had me glued to the pages! Awesome storytelling by the author.
So, if you thought a Christian read was boring, think again. If you thought a Christian read wouldn't be exciting, think again. If you thought a Christian read would read like a sermon, think again... This book and series has all the elements of a Michael Crichton thriller, the heart in mouth mystery and action of Dan Brown. An immersive, riveting read that has me questioning so much, that's uplifting and fills me with joy. That strengthens my own faith. There is way more here than theology, way more than biblical references, there is a real story behind the man, there is the real struggle of power and greed, there is the real vulnerability of openness and truth, there is an excellent fast paced plot, a feat for a series dubbed "Christian read"
"Sanctum" represents the third installment in this fast-paced, action-driven Christian thriller series. It embodies a blend of the writing styles of renowned authors such as David Baldacci, James Patterson, Mark Dawson, and Lee Child—some of my personal favorites—crafted into a single compelling narrative. This novel offers a modern retelling of the story of King David, depicting the lengths to which the establishment will go to prevent David Shepherd's rise to power, including assassination. As the narrative unfolds, dark truths emerge, immersing readers in the intricate dynamics of governmental politics and illustrating the extremes to which authorities may resort to maintain control.
From the moment I began reading, I found it difficult to set the book aside, even when life necessitated brief interruptions. Each return to the narrative quickly immersed me once more in the escalating drama. What resonates profoundly with me is the author's portrayal of Christ-like responses to adversity: the importance of prayer, the determination to rise above one’s adversaries, and the commitment to moral integrity, all of which align with my skills as a Christian life coach. The themes of forgiveness and the significance of second chances serve as poignant reminders of our shared human fallibility. (I have developed a Forgiveness Bible study tailored for the average person on the street.)
The book is well-crafted and engaging, tackling themes of death, betrayal, murder, and ambush, yet it maintains a relatively clean narrative, steering clear of graphic depictions. The author adeptly integrates morals and life lessons throughout the storyline, making "Sanctum" a captivating read. I wholeheartedly recommend it and urge readers not to overlook the author's note at the conclusion. I highly recommend obtaining a copy of Sanctum right away!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow. Sanctum didn’t just keep me up late reading—it shook me. Judah Lamb takes everything we think we know about corruption, power, and faith, and throws it right in our face. David Shepherd isn’t just fighting enemies; he’s fighting a system so brazen and ruthless it feels impossible to beat. And yet, that’s exactly why I couldn’t stop reading. The Deep State here isn’t whispering in the shadows—it’s standing in the light, daring anyone to challenge it. That hit me hard, because it made me ask myself: would I have the courage to stand firm when the odds are this stacked? What really grabbed me was the balance between the gut-clenching action and the raw spiritual core of the story. David doesn’t lean on weapons or politics as his greatest strength—he leans on his faith. And that’s what makes him so dangerous to his enemies. That’s what makes him a character I’ll follow anywhere. There were moments where I honestly had to put the book down, breathe, and then dive right back in because the tension was so intense. And then there were moments that stirred me, reminding me why hope matters, why belief matters, even when everything around you screams that it doesn’t. This isn’t just a thriller—it’s a battle cry. It’s Baldacci-level pacing mixed with a spiritual grit that refuses to be silenced. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Raw, relentless, and unforgettable. Sanctum is a story that doesn’t just entertain—it makes you feel the weight of the fight for truth and faith.
The third book in Judah Lamb's David Shepherd Thriller series is called Sanctum. As sinister truths are exposed, Sanctum immerses you in government politics. The extent to which the state must go to seize control of everything is no longer important to them.
Social media and TV programs are being shut down to prevent the public from learning the truth. Additionally, anyone who tries to reveal the truth is shut down immediately.
In an attempt to learn and reveal the truth to the public, David and a small group fled into hiding. Sadly, they are also being shut down. To get the word out, they have to use traditional methods. After sharing the truth with the masses, hopefully, they will believe it and keep telling it.
I hurried to the end to uncover the truth, driven by the tension and deep mystery. While some revelations are unexpected, others are not. Once I started reading, it was hard to stop when I had to take a quick break. When life pulled me away, I quickly got drawn back into the story as I resumed reading.
I highly recommend getting a copy of Sanctum right now!
David Shepherd is running for president and has a very able team working with him trying to keep him safe, however when he follows up on the last words of the assassinated president he is going up against a massive deep state enemy. They have their tentacles in every institution and many of the higher ups are serving those who got them there. Everyone seems to be compromised, and when David starts to mention them by name they go all out to kill him too. There was no way they would allow him to become the next president. However David has always stood by his faith and his faith has stood by him, and he risks everything in order to bring unity and spirituality back into the country which he feels has lost all sense of goodness. They were running a campaign unlike anything in American history but will it work? This is a book of good against evil, of faith, loyalty and resilience in the face of pain and death. I really enjoyed this 3rd book in the David Shepherd thrillers and hope this is not the last we get to read about him and his team.
David Shepherd and his team have had to go into hiding after President Mauer is assassinated in front of a live audience and TV camera's. Their lives are threatened by Sanctum, but the powers that be are trying to convince people that what David is saying is just a conspiracy theory and nothing more. But when social media and TV stations start talking about Sanctum they are suddenly taken off air. David and his team must get the message out about Sanctum even if it means risking their lives going into the open and attending conventions etc. There are battles to fight to bring Sanctum into the light and expose them. But it wont be easy, Sanctum has its hooks into everything. David also wants to bring peoples spirituality back to heal the city. Can he win the battles...read the book and find out what happens.
In some ways this book reads too close to home. I knew a state representative in a state where her political views were a minority. She had death threats regularly. It felt real.
What I like here is the author shows Christ like ways to deal with adversity. Prayer. Not being like them. Being the better person. By sticking to morals. Forgiveness and second chances were warranted after all no one is perfect.
Well written and engaging. Does mention death, betrayl, murder, ambush. But fairly clean. (Not graphic detail. ) Author does a great job of installing morals and life lessons in his books. Recommend. Don't forget the authors note in the end.
Of Judahs fictional series I think this is my favorite.

Received as an ARC, I am leaving my honest review. This journey for David Shepherd continues to move forward with danger around every corner. Captivating, gripping and fast moving, the events that take place as he and his team uncover the truth about Sanctum will have you glued to the pages. A unexpected murder shines light on David’s thoughts of truth, which brings about a full scale investigation with his closest colleagues. The findings are monumental. Being a presidential candidate has him well guarded, but that doesn’t stop assassins from hunting him down. The excitement explodes and the tension builds as he runs for his life, which brings grave repercussions and breath holding scenarios. Eventually he must hold his rally as Election Day grows closer. What happens will amaze you and have you wondering if there is hope for us after all.
Sanctum: An action-packed Christian thriller. (David Shepherd Thrillers Book 3) , my eighty-fourth read from author Theophilus Monroe, the ninth under his nom-de-plume Judah Lamb. A 326-page, powerful, well-written political thriller that can bring tears to your eyes with Monroe's poignant, intense writing. I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I look forward to reading Soul Siege: A Christian Thriller and Supernatural Suspense Novel (The Unfallen Series (Landon Walker Thrillers) Book 7), when it's released next month, it's already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This book neatly brings the series to a close. The series follows David Shepherd from his beginnings to his run for President, strengths and weaknesses both; this book concentrates on his run for President. How can he run a successful campaign if he has to hide from Sanctum's assassins? Just how strong is his opposition? How will he and his associates fare? Will he win? This book answers those questions while keeping the reader guessing until the end.
One of the best political Christian thriller I've ever read. Great characters and wonderful world descriptions. This is an action packed read. It has so much than you expect. David is running for president and the powers that want to rule will stop at nothing to killing him. Will he survive and save the nation?.

This is definitely a political thriller with a twist. It has all the adrenaline-inducing suspense and action of Tom Clancy's "Executive Orders" with all the faith and passion of Billy Graham. Thriller novels normally do not make me cry - this one did. I recommend this to fans of Jack Ryan or Tommy Nolan (of Declan Finn's work), as these guys would understand David Shepherd very well.

"Sanctum: An Action-Packed Christian Thriller" is a thrilling, fast-paced novel filled with action and intrigue. Judah Lamb brings a fresh perspective to the genre, blending religion, action, and political scheming. From the very first page, it's gripping and delivers an immensely satisfying read.

Great finale to the series. The presidential race is heating up, along with knowledge (and actions) of a deep state. Can anyone stand against a government fully infiltrated by those who want to control and hurt you? Fantastic characters and themes. Less “Christian fiction” than universal messages around peoples’ needs in society – for justice, for agency, and personal control.
This book was very well done. Action packed, well written characters and a well thought out plot. I recommend starting from book 1 and for this one, for parts of the story, have tissues handy. I would give more than 5 stars if possible
Really well written, fast paced story. Great concept that hits really close to realism. Hard to put this one down once you get into it! Definitely want to read more in this series!
