They came to train. They found a war that began 50,000 years ago.

In the swirling crimson mists of the Carmine Nebula, what starts as a routine training mission for Crix Nakato and his navigator protégé, Izzy, turns into a nightmare. A haunting disturbance in the Vermillium network—what Izzy can only describe as screaming—triggers echoes of an ancient threat long thought vanquished. When Pixel, the strange fox-like companion linked to Izzy, begins to change, the danger becomes impossible to ignore.

Called back to the heart of the Navigator Collective, Crix must confront a chilling something is testing the network, probing for weaknesses. And it isn’t human.

Trapped between survival and sacrifice, Crix and Izzy must unlock the secrets of a forgotten war and make a stand aboard a derelict starship with a weapon cobbled from ancient technology and raw desperation.

Because the Harbingers have arrived.

And they’re only the beginning.

Star Borne Strays Series

I loved this series. I'd rate it ten out of ten. It has strong family and emotional ties that weave through all.of the books. I really enjoyed flying through space with the main characters. There were problems to be solved, battles to be won and new worlds to be found. This was an adventure from start to finish. Terrific!!

Star Series

I’ll keep it brief. When I came across the first book in the series I read the sample, and upon completion purchased the series. No regrets. The author Jon Kiln provides us with just enough of well, everything to keep things interesting. It’s a good, light read for young and old, and with that last, I take my leave. :-)
