What does a case of mistaken identity, a bounty hunter that's broke and the Ukrainian Mob have to do with each other? You have to read this action packed, hilarious novel to find out!

This book was written in the first person and that person's voice is Kelsey Coe. The first sentence is, "The last thing I expected was to get shot at on a city bus." The reason she is on the bus in the first place is a big part of the story.
One good thing, she met Zach Cooper, a drop dead gorgeous guy who got on the bus and ended up saving her from those flying bullets and then whisked her away to put handcuffs on her. It turns out Zach is a Deputy Marshal, and he keeps calling her by the name Duncan. But wait, turns out he used to be a Deputy Marshall, and now he's a bounty hunter! Who in the world is this Duncan everyone is searching for?

I finished this book in one sitting and was ready to read it again when I realized the second book in the series had been released. Present Tense is the next book and it's on my Kindle app right now.

There are hilarious sometime scary characters, poor Kelsey trying to prove her innocence and a lot of bullets. But best of all humor and some sexy scenes, nowhere near a bed. I highly recommend this book and this unlikely couple. They were made for each other, sort of.

“The last thing I expected was to get shot at on a city bus.”
~~~~Kelsey Coe~~~~
That’s the first line in this witty, fun as hell romantic thriller! The action starts on the first page and never lets up to the last. I needed this book. I was going through one of those book slumps where nothing I opened on my kindle kept my attention. This book had been recommended by a friend some time ago and was just setting there when, in my dissatisfaction with every book I opened, I opened this one as I scrolled past and was hooked immediately!
The story is from Kelsey’s point of view, and I have never enjoyed being in a heroine’s mind more. The only time I wasn’t smiling through Kelsey’s journey was when I was laughing out loud. Kelsey is a delight!
The blurb for this book is excellent. I don’t want to go much beyond that except to say that when Zach Parker begins to believe that Kelsey is not guilty, the attraction and sexual tension ramps up immediately and they..are..hot..together!
I can’t recommend this book highly enough. If I could give it 6 Stars, I would! I enjoyed it so much that I went immediately to Amazon and one-clicked book two in the series, Present Tense. It’s just as good! (I will be reviewing it soon!)
So, join me in the adventures of Kelsey Coe and Zach Parker. You can wait with me, tapping a foot and huffing impatiently, as we wait for Ms. Matthews to gift us with the next book in the series, Cruel Bounty, which should be coming soon. Sigh. I want it now. Greedy me.
Mystery/Suspense filled with offbeat characters, humor, crackling sexual tension and a splash of romance.
For anyone who has ever been down on their luck, broke and had a bad day get worse, they will identify with Kelsey Coe and Zack Parker, the sharp-witted, intelligent, sexy leads in IDENTITY UNKNOWN.
Kelsey is a strong and sassy young woman, and a good thing she's also a quick study as she has to learn a few new maneuvers to stay alive when she's plunged into a world of danger, deceit, and finds herself dodging bullets and running away from the bad guys. Her mis-adventure includes close encounters with the hot and formidable Zack Parker--former Deputy U.S. Marshal turned bounty hunter--who wants to collect the bounty placed on Kelsey's head.
There's suspense, twists you won't see coming, and a mystery which all unfolds at a good pace to keep the reader invested from the first page until the end.
With the introduction of Coe and Parker in IDENTIFY UNKNOWN in the Parker & Coe, Love and Bullets Thriller Series, Alana Matthews has opened up a reading world that is sure to include more thrills, humor, lust, mystery and danger, with two memorable leads with the other books in the series.
If you are looking for a quick, easy and sexy read, with an excellent mystery and suspense filled plot, snappy dialogue, well developed characters and many humorous moments then this is a must read.
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I was so lucky to receive an advanced copy of this book and it has made me an Alana Matthews Fan ! it was a wonderful book.
I do not normally enjoy books written in the 1st person but I couldn't put it down, fast paced action, very believable story and I actually did not see the twist coming until it was right there. I really loved the main characters Kelsey and Parker. I am already anxious to read the 2nd one.
There's nothing I love more than a book with romance, humor and mystery ... Identity Unkown by Alana Matthews is my kind of book! Kelsey Coe is a smart, sassy, hardworking graduate student who just wants a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, she's also a magnet for bad luck. Because a dangerous (and very sexy) bounty hunter named Zach Parker thinks she's a fugitive on the run. It's a case of mistaken identity, and the beginning of a wild ride that will send this unlikely couple running from bad guys with guns and into each other's arms. A fast pace, snappy dialogue and fun plot twists will have you at the edge of your seat and rooting for literature's best new dangerous duo!
Narrator was alright. Story was just the usual, New Adult type. I found it boring and lasted less than half way. Three stars for what I listened to.
First Person POV with that myopic, self-focused tone of New Adult/Chicklit books.
