First off I’d like to thank the authors of this world for giving voice to some problems. Wilder is a puma shifter and he lost his mate three years ago. However, she wasn’t his fated mate. Now he is NYC and he participates in an underground shifter fight club. Kody is a dragon shifter and Wilder’s bestie. I was surprised at the rules of the fight club. The fights are extremely violent and shocking. *shudders*. Arwen is a bartender at the Alley Katz and she was born with silver hair. She has been living with her boyfriend Jarrod and he is very abusive. It was shocking and terrifying. Then she meets Wilder and things progress and I fell in love with him from the moment he told her that he would take care of her “problem.” She fights it for a quite a bit and then realizes that he is perfect for her. Plus, we find out there is a reason that she has that color hair. lol. Although, Wilder is possessive it is out of the need to protect her and not to control her like Jarrod did. The book did upset me a bit here and there, mostly in shock of the things that happened that were extremely violent. Wilder is sweet and a little romantic with Arwen and she does get into a bit of trouble a few times. I loved the book.

Wilder's Obsession is the fifth book in the Monsters of New York series. The book pulls you in from the first page with an unimaginable tragedy and keeps you turning the pages as Wilder and Arwen find each other and their happily ever after. If these books ended any other way I would not be able to handle it as the characters go through so much that their pain is palpable, until they find their fated mates. There are obstacles even once their mate is found but then we discover the beauty of the mate bond. If only it were real.

Arwen and Wilder's story struck a chord, not sure why but it did. The storyline is solid with drama, steaminess, romance, action, and lots of naughtiness. It all keeps you turning the pages.

Wilder is a puma shifter who years ago lost his wife and child, needing a new start he moves to NY. He becomes part of the undergrounding fight club, earning a reputation. After a brutal fight night her heads to a dive bar. The woman behind the counter, Arwen, is his fated mate. He sees the bruises and is ready to take out the man who thinks they can hurt what is his.

There is something he knows about his mate, she is not a normal human, she is part siren. But first he needs to take care the man who is hurting his girl. This is a steamy read with violence in the fighting ring.

This book is full of violence and a domineering alpha. The FMC has tons of trauma from past relationships and the first thing that the MMC does is take her to the underground fight arena. Not too bright of him. Then when she runs he tells her that she disobeyed him, like she is a child and doesn't know any better. I did not like the way he treated her. It was supposed to be protective but came across as domineering and aggressive. There was tons of steam but the plot was lacking a lot. Lots of typos and grammatical errors.

Wilder and Arwen

An emotional but entertaining read as two wounded souls find each other, embrace a new life together with a few hiccups along the way to get to their HEA.

I was a little surprised at the end with the Daddy theme which for me wasn’t needed but it never took off from the enjoyment of the read.

Tragedy is how this book starts. These two main characters Wilder and Arwen, have tremulous pasts. The book sucks you in from the beginning and even though there is violence throughout the book, you keep waiting for their happy ending. There is plenty of steam, drama and action to keep you hooked until the end.

I enjoy this series and this story is no exception. Wilder and Arwen's story is at times heart breaking and violent. It never seems to amaze me how two traumatized people can heal each other. Very engaging story but was not thrilled with the end when Wilder wanted to be called Daddy. Arwen and Wilder are both broken from what has happened in their pasts. A chance meeting brings them together but there are other factors in play that threaten their happily ever after. There is violence throughout the story.

This is another engaging addition to the series and I have to say that it's both heartbreaking and violent. Wilder and Arwen find each other and work their way through the drama, danger, healing and spice to get their HEA. Both of them were rather broken so I was rooting hard for them to get that happy ending. Love and healing for fated mates made this a page turner for me :D

Although I did enjoy this book I do wonder what possessed him to take her to a fighting ring knowing that she had been in domestic violence relationship for a couple years.
