The inter-planetary forces (IPF) rule the known universe. A motley crew of rebels, led by Madam, although the Good Doctor would strongly disagree, are aided by Zaaro, a most reluctant hero. The rebellion is successful. Zaaro disappears as abruptly as he arrived.
Madam and her crew should probably establish a new galactic order but that is too much work and way out of budget. The rebels re-brand as the resistance, Madam and the Good Doctor take up the mantle of the IPF, while a third, sinister force, continues to grow in the darkness.
Will the former friends destroy each other before they discover who their real enemy is? Will Zaaro return to help them once again?
Join the cast of this comedy of errors set in space as they navigate the pitfalls of sudden power and the surfacing of long-buried secrets coupled with a generous dose of stealthy Ulroneese romance.
Sidra F. Sheikh is a lawyer and a writer. This is her second book. Her first book, The Light Blue Jumper, was a bestseller in Pakistan. It was published by Mongrel Books, Karachi, in 2017. She lives in Lahore, Pakistan, with her husband and two daughters.
Ahhhhh! A Shade Darker was definitely worth the wait! It has so much depth and the story surely took so many dark turns. I loved how the comedy was just as periect! So much happened and at times it was confusing as well but it all made sense too. It even has longer chapters than The Light Blue Jumper. I am hoping to post a detailed review soon.
A wonderful sequel to the first book. The themes introduced earlier are further discussed. There is an element of horror in this one and thankfully the humour is still there!
