Τυφλή εμπιστοσύνη
Η ρεπόρτερ Κέλι Ρομπόλο πίστευε ότι τα είχε δει όλα στη δουλειά της. Όμως μετά το αγωνιώδες τηλεφώνημα μιας παλιάς φίλης, που της ζητάει να τη βοηθήσει να βρει τον άντρα της, μπλέκεται σε μια κατάσταση που δεν της έχει ξανατύχει ποτέ: να παίζει τη ζωή της κορόνα γράμματα...
Ο Τζόναθαν Μπόουμαν, ανώτερο στέλεχος ενός καζίνο στο Ατλάντικ Σίτι, έχει εξαφανιστεί και η γυναίκα του φοβάται το χειρότερο. Άραγε είναι ένα αθώο θύμα ή είχε αναμειχθεί σε κάτι παράνομο -και γι` αυτό τον δολοφόνησαν; Όταν ένα απανθρακωμένο πτώμα ανακαλύπτεται σχεδόν στην άλλη άκρη της χώρας και αναγνωρίζεται πως ανήκει στον αγνοούμενο, η Κέλι υποψιάζεται πως η υπόθεση είναι στημένη. Αλλά για ποιο λόγο;
Ο Νικ Μακμπράιντ, ντετέκτιβ της Αστυνομίας της Φιλαδέλφειας, υποψιάζεται το ίδιο πράγμα. Πιστεύει, μάλιστα, πως η εξαφάνιση του Τζόναθαν έχει κάποια σχέση με το θάνατο του πατέρα του, που δούλευε κι εκείνος στο καζίνο. Η Κέλι και ο Νικ αποφασίζουν, αν και απρόθυμα, να συνεργαστούν. Όμως οι έρευνές τους δεν θ` αργήσουν να τους παρασύρουν στα δίχτυα ενός βρόμικου, αδίστακτου κυκλώματος, όπου η τυφλή εμπιστοσύνη οδηγεί στον τρόμο... και στην παγίδα ενός δολοφόνου που καραδοκεί.

Blind Faith by Christiane Heggan
This was a good story.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.
In her career, investigative reporter Kelly Robolo has seen it all. But when she gets a frantic call from an old friend, she embarks on an investigation that will put her to a test she's never faced before: survival.
Jonathan Bowman, a loving husband and father, has disappeared, and his wife fears the worst. Was the high-ranking casino employee an innocent victim? Or had he been involved in something illegal—and murdered for it?
When a charred body is discovered halfway across the country and identified as the missing man, Kelly suspects it's a setup. But the question is why?
Philadelphia cop Nick McBride suspects the same thing, and believes there's a connection between the death of his own father—also a former employee of the casino—and Jonathan's disappearance. Reluctantly Kelly and Nick start to work together. But their suspicions are about to lure them into a desperate, dangerous game where blind faith leads straight into terror...and into the trap of a waiting killer.

Blind Faith
Christiane Heggan has done it once again.....she has written a book that I was completely lost in! The characters brought me into the book and I felt like I was actually watching everything take place! I highly recommend this book and this author because, in my opinion, you won't be let down.
