When everything ends, trust becomes the deadliest gamble.
Felix and his mother find shelter with Gerard, a survivalist who promises safety inside a fortified bunker he calls The Ark. But as the world outside crumbles under nuclear fire, Felix begins to suspect the real threat might be locked underground with them.
Cut off from the outside world, surrounded by secrets and lies, Felix must risk everything to find out the truth—before it’s too late.
Meanwhile, Tim and Helena race against time to find the key to humanity’s survival ... a key that may lie in Felix’s hidden past.
Invaders 4 ratchets up the tension with claustrophobic survival, psychological mind games, and heart-pounding revelations. A perfect read for fans of 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Road, and The Stand.
I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

We mostly had Felix, Gerard, and Miriam in the book, for the first 80% I would say, and they are not the most interesting of the people who have been introduced so far. There isn't really any growth with these characters, other than learning about Gerard's backstory. We do get to see Pia and Oswald in the last 30 or so pages. It was good to see a little insight into how a person changes into a creature, and for the characters to unlock a few previous memories but nothing was really progressed. No Tim and Helena in this book made it feel like it was missing something, even though the preview of the book stated that they would be in it. Also, Mia appeared for the first chapter and never again even though her storyline could be one of the most intriguing.
Storyline:
I found this one a bit dull if I am honest. I get why it continued with the people down in the Ark but I do not feel it needed to be almost all of the book. We didn't really learn much new about the aliens, about what was happening around Denmark, nor did we get any update on most of the characters. I feel that a lot more could have been added. I just wasn't as interested in where the book was good as I usually am, I am hoping book 5 has a lot more.
Pacing/writing:
The writing was as good as always for me, no notes there. The pacing however was just too slow, I don't believe it was fast-paced enough, especially considering how much happened within the first 3 books.
Ending:
Meh - nothing really happened again. It was finally getting somewhere with the story and just ended, slightly frustrating.
Emotional impact:
I did route for Felix and his mum to escape the Ark, but other than that there wasn't much in terms of emotion, fear, or even worry. I am sad to say this is my least favourite in the series overall.
Invaders 4, part of Nick Clausen's Alien Invasion series brings us back to Miriam, Felix and Gerard in his "Ark" while Pia continues to transform into something inhuman. The claustrophobia aspect of the book is enough to make one's skin crawl should they be on the claustrophobic side, adding an extra layer of tension, especially once Gerard's behavior changes. Invaders 4 was a long time coming but very, very worth the wait! Overall, 5/5 stars, highly recommended for readers who enjoy alien invasion thrillers, sci-fi thrillers and apocalyptic survival thrillers!
