Three sisters, each very different from the other, yet their lives are ever entwined.
Victoria—gone too soon from her family. She was the eldest, the first to fall in love, and the first to pay dearly for it when the girls’ father set out to ruin Victoria’s husband and then refused her medical help when she desperately needed it.
Sophie fell in love with a reclusive duke after running away from home to avoid marrying the man their father had chosen for her. But if he meant to ruin Victoria’s husband financially, he had far worse in mind for Sophie’s. It will take every skill she has to keep the man she’s pledged her life and love to alive.
Olivia, the youngest and only one of the three girls who ever cared for the London season and all the frivolity that accompanied it. Sent into hiding to avoid their father’s plans for her, she’s given up nearly everything that matters. Everything except the promise she made to Victoria, her dying sister, to care for Victoria’s husband if something happened to her.
Sophie’s strength and Olivia’s determination chart courses neither knew was possible, and on their journeys, they learn that above all else, love is undying.

Michele Paige Holmes is the author of eighteen published romance novels and five novellas in the Timeless Romance Anthologies.
She loves history and all things romantic, though the reality of her life is often less so, with piles of laundry to be folded, meals to be cooked, and dishes to be washed. She finds those things blessings too, or evidence of the blessings in her life—her husband, five, mostly grown children, and five charming grandchildren (four of whom reside in her home).
She is married to her high school sweetheart, a true Ironman who considers doing ultramarathons and triathlons fun. The only time Michele logs serious miles is at Disney theme parks, but she and her super-fit husband have been happily married for thirty-five years, in spite of her lack of coordination and lagging fitness levels.
While her husband is out running, biking, or swimming, Michele’s furry companion Sherlock Holmes—a Cavapoo strongly resembling a teddy bear—keeps her company and keeps her feet warm during the cold winter months in Utah.
In recent years Michele has enjoyed traveling to some of the locations she writes about. This summer she will be returning to Scotland to do research for upcoming Hearthfire Historical novels.

This was just what I needed after reading book one. (It needs to be read in order to fully appreciate the story) We left Sophie and Graham happy but with unresolved issues. Those things come to light and held me captive for the first third of the book. Then we shift more into Olivia's story, the youngest of three sisters. She was sent into hiding to avoid her father's plan which had impacted their whole family negatively. London society is taken away from her when that's all she has dreamed about having. No spoilers here but everything changes and her growth and character arc is so beautiful. Such a good story! Content: fade to black marital intimacy, no language, prejudices (written respectively)
Ummm...Wow!!! I loved it! It was the perfect read for how it tied everything together from the first book! And now I can't wait for the next book in the Love Unbound trilogy! Michele Paige Holmes just keeps writing books that pull me in completely and have me feeling connected to the characters and completely invested in their future and happiness. I love her writing! I love how she creates characters and settings and stories that are fully rounded and have me completely hooked!
This is the second book and you have to read the first book to understand everything! I promise! You could read this is a standalone but there's soooo much that you need to know from the first book that you'll want to know. The author gives some backstory and explanation but you need to read the first book to know it all!
Three sisters whose lives are changed by their father. And the death of the oldest sister. We don't meet Victoria, the oldest sister, except in flashbacks and through memories in the first book. I loved those memories and seeing the beautiful bond and love these sisters have for each other. Now Sophie and Olivia are trying to set to right some of the past that they can, and Olivia is going to keep her promise to Victoria to help take care of her husband. The family is fleeing and escaping their harrowing struggles to go and find Victoria's widower husband.
The adventures continue and I loved it all! I just can't even tell you all of the twists and turns and hardships and joys that this book has. I was there for it all! I didn't want to set the book down but life kept marching forward, which meant I had to. But I loved my reading time when I could pick it up and keep enjoying the journey that this family was on.
Olivia is trying to understand what Love is and how she will know when she experiences it with someone. It was a sweet story. Lots of healing and family and friendship and sweet love.
Content: Clean. Some moments of peril. Some kisses and some mild innuendos between married couples.
I received a copy from the author/publisher. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Although the author gives a lot of backstory and explanations, I feel you should read the first book, Love Unbound before reading this one to get a complete understanding of the situation at the beginning of Love Undying.
This is one of those stories that grabs your heart early on and doesn’t let go. It follows the lives of three very different sisters—Victoria, Sophie, and Olivia—whose experiences with love, loss, and family are deeply intertwined. Each of their stories adds another emotional layer to the book, and by the end, you feel like you’ve lived through something alongside them.
Victoria’s story is so heartbreaking. She’s the eldest sister, and though she finds love first, hers ends in tragedy. Her father’s cruelty and control cost her everything, but even though Victoria is gone, the love she leaves behind shapes everything that follows.
Sophie’s part of the story is intense in a different way. Although she ran away to avoid an arranged marriage and married Graham, her father isn't done trying to control her life, and now, he has far more dangerous plans in store.
Olivia is the youngest. She’s the one who loves the London season and society life, but circumstances force her into hiding, and she ends up sacrificing so much—except the promise she made to Victoria: to look after Victoria’s husband. Watching Olivia step into a more mature, determined version of herself was one of my favorite parts of the book. Her growth felt authentic, and her journey was both emotional and romantic in the best way.
Each sister’s story is different but still connected in a way that flows well. Each of their stories shows how strong each sister truly is. The author does a great job mixing heavier themes like grief and sacrifice with sweet moments of romance and hope, so it ends up feeling emotional but also heartwarming. There are several twists I didn't see coming—some good, some bad, but it all works out in the end.
This story is tender, dramatic, inspiring, and full of characters you’ll want to cheer for. If you love historical romance with real depth, sisterhood, and strong women standing up to impossible odds, this one’s definitely worth reading.
I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
Talk about an amazing follow up to the previous book! I shall attempt to write a review without giving away any spoilers.
We start off strong with a continuation of Sophie and Graham’s story. Graham’s past catches up to him as his and Sophie’s enemies rush to put him out of commission. But Sophie, being Sophie, isn’t content to simply watch evil snuff out such a beautiful soul (and her one true love). She’ll need to use every bit of wit and ingenuity she has in order to save Graham and their adopted children from a terrible fate.
Then we get a big change of scenery and a shift in focus toward Olivia, Sophie’s younger sister. Olivia promised her late sister Victoria that she would care for her husband Jonathan in the event of her passing. In 1800 terms, that meant Olivia promised to marry him. But the flawless plan Olivia had in place to marry Jonathan doesn’t turn out to be as flawless as expected. And she misses the glitz and glamour of the London season she never got to have. Will she be able to find happiness and love in a new world, or will the memories of riches call her home?
Definitely read the first one before this one, or you will be a bit lost. If you enjoyed the first one, you’ll likely also enjoy the suspense (seriously high stakes in the first half! Such a page turner!) and the romance in the second. Sophie and Graham are my absolute favorite, and I loved getting more of their love story. Olivia wasn’t my favorite character at first, as it was hard to sympathize with her longing with suitors and a Season when many of the other characters in the book made much more significant sacrifices to protect their families. But she grew on me. If you like age gap romances and lots of character development, you’ll love her love story!
Other highlights: - Unexpected twists - Tons of suspense - Country medicine and midwifery - Satisfying ending, but possible hints to future stories - Olivia cooking (iykyk)
I honestly loved this story! I was sucked in from book 1 to the end of book 2! I truly enjoy this authors writing! This story was so compelling and exciting! Beautiful story of 3 sisters making their way through life with all the ups and downs of the 19th century! Loved it!
I received this book from the author and all opinions and thoughts are my own!
I have been anxiously awaiting the publication of Love Undying by Michelle Paige Holmes since I finished reading Love Unbound, which ended on a bit on a cliffhanger. To be honest, I was a bit annoyed—and a little anxious because I don’t like leaving characters in unknown situations when the next book in the series is not available yet—by the cliffhanger, but now that I have read Love Undying, I totally get why Holmes wrote it that way. The two books together create this beautiful story that warmed my heart and testified of the power of love and hope.
Love Undying focuses on both Sophie and Graham, whose love story is the focus of Love Unbound, and Sophie’s sister’s Olivia. The story has some surprises so I don’t want to give too much away. All I will say is that book continues Sophie and Graham’s love story and gives Olivia her own love story too. It was so well done.
I loved how the story focused on all the aspects of love—the love of a parent to a child, the love of a sister to a sister, and the love between a man and a woman. It was so sweet to read.
I adored this beautiful book. It was like a warm hug. I really need to talk to someone who has read it so I can gush about all my favorite parts. It was so good.
You do need to read Love Unbound before you read Love Undying. Thankfully both books are out now so you don’t have to suffer like I did with the cliffhanger.
Thank you to the author for the gifted copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
It’s so risky taking an ARC for an author I haven’t read before. When I was asked by a reader I trust, I took a chance on not one, but a two book series by a new to me author. I 100% don’t regret it. I was in a bit of a reading slump and these pulled me out of it. The first book had a lot of twists and turns I didn’t expect. I loved the journey the characters were on of managing their own trauma while figuring out how to evade a future they didn’t want. I also loved the fight against slavery in the British territory. As an American I know the history of slavery in America, but do not know much about England, except that they outlawed it before America did. I loved how the author made the people and their situations come to life. I was invested in their individual lives and the collective cause. Very fun forced proximity romance amid all the turmoil and pot twists the characters were dealing with.
The second book was very different from the first, but I loved it just as much. It could be read as a stand alone, however I believe these are best enjoyed read in order. The first book could have been quickly wrapped up, but this second book added so much more than a quick ending could have. I loved the new characters we came to know and the vastly different setting of the Wild West.
If you like historical fiction with real issues and very well written romance, this is for you. It was the perfect blend of heavy real life situations and the hope that love and connection brings.
This book is so well written. The storyline has depth with struggles and character growth. It is so well down that I hated to reach the end of the book. I want more.
Finding what you truly want in life Often we grow up thinking we know what we want. If we’re lucky we find what we truly need and want. That is the message of this story. It tells the story of Olivia while touching on the stories of her two sisters. Each knew what she wanted. Each found true love and what she needed. Olivia, the youngest, knew she wanted a season, many suitors, and a rich, important husband. When faced with circumstances she had no control over, she finds herself on a ship heading to America and upstate New York. That was not her dream but it turned out to be much more. There she was able to restore past relationships, strengthen current relationships, while making new relationships and finding love and a purpose she had never considered. A wonderful story. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.
Honestly, I had the busiest weekend, which kept me from finishing this book in one sitting, but believe me, I would have if I could. From the moment I started reading, it completely took over my mind. It felt like being in the middle of a movie, I kept having to pause, only to 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 back to it the moment I had the chance.
Michele writes in a way that makes every book feel rich and full, so much happens within a single story, it’s impossible to sum up without giving too much away. And honestly, I don’t want to spoil the surprises she so carefully weaves into each page.
In this book, we dive back into the story of Graham and Sophie, expecting a continuation of their romance, but what we don’t expect is the depth of the challenges they face in their new marriage. Alongside them, we also follow Olivia’s journey, not just a story of love, but of growth, resilience, and choosing her own path. She’s torn between a promise she made to her sister and the pull of an unexpected friendship that blossoms into something more.
This book is packed with everything: twists and turns, suspense, heartfelt romance, complex family dynamics, and the sweet charm of friends-to-lovers. There are even touching love notes sprinkled throughout. Olivia longs for marriage, but not with the man you might expect. Life throws her some surprising detours, ones that turn out to be even better than anything she could’ve planned for herself.
𝐈 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 and can’t wait for the next in the series. I think I can guess who might be next to find love... but we’ll see!
***This is a closed-door romance: fade to black with some innuendo related to the married couples.
I received a complimentary copy, and this review reflects my honest opinion.
Such a wonderful story that I was sad to see come to an end!
Love Undying picks right back up where we left off in Love Unbound, and it’s clear this is a continuation of the first novel. Though this can be read as a standalone if you haven’t read this book first, I would highly recommend reading Love Unbound before reading Love Undying. Not only is it a wonderful and powerful read in and of itself, but it also gives this novel so much more depth.
I was able to consume this novel quite quickly and enjoyed the experience immensely. I fell in love with this world and these characters in the first book, and that adoration only deepened with this novel. Sophie and Graham’s love story was one of my favorite slow-burn reads in quite a while, and I could not wait to see what else would befall this beloved couple. What I wasn’t expecting was the heart-pounding suspense that starts this novel as Graham and Sophie find themselves in the throes of a madman in a particularly dire situation. This unfortunate situation leads to an unexpected trip and reunion followed by a new life that leads to a blossoming new love.
Michele Paige Holmes has such a talent for not only capturing my heart with her words but my imagination as well. The flow is exquisite, and it was easy for me to jump in and out of, though I wish I would’ve been able to read it in one sitting, as it is that good. I adored Love Undying so much and hope that I will be able to see these characters sometime in the future as my heart is not ready to let go.
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.
This book is so well written. The story picks up right where the first book of the series ended. There is adventure, intrigue, romance, and family. I love that the story draws you in and takes you on an adventure that I wasn’t expecting. The physicality is higher than what I normally review so make sure to check out the disclosures at the bottom and DM me with any questions.
Sophie and Graham are dealing with the slimy viscount who has thrown Graham in jail. Sophie’s sister Olivia has been in hiding for months and is anxiously awaiting traveling to America. The plans expand to include Sophie’s family and they travel together to find their missing brother in law. Olivia is determined to keep her promise to her deceased sister, but what will she do when she meets Jonathan and his cousin Elias?
Highlights: The Christmas Eve dance The rhyming game (so witty!)
I love this whole family they are amazing. They have each other’s backs and they love and support each other.
“How you got yourself married the first time be a mystery… You want that girl, you got to go get her.” “I don’t want-“ “I’ve been around too long to be lied to. A woman knows what a woman knows. But a man- sometimes he don’t know nothing.” Disclosures: handsy cad, discussion of self defense violence, implied marital relations, deep kisses, brief playful touches between married couple
Sigh. This was exactly what I needed. We start right off after book one and this story was full of everything you never knew you needed.
Sophie and Graham went through so much in book one and the past comes back to haunt them with a vengeance. Sophie never backs down and her brilliant mind is one of the main reasons things end up the way they do. Their love is tried again and again.
“How I’ve missed you.” Sophie’s eyes blurred. “And I you. How did we ever live without each other before we met?”
Enter Olivia, Livie. The youngest sister that never felt like her life had begun is in hiding and then on the run and she thinks she has a clear idea of what she is running towards, but as circumstances change, so do her dreams.
Elias. A country doctor still grieving the loss of his beloved wife while finding joy in his daughter, the reason to keep on going. There is not a selfish bone in his body and he works tirelessly for others.
“I don’t want you to find your knight in New York City because I want to be him.”
So much happens in this story. So many lives changed for the better, so much hope, so much determination, and so much care and devotion. I could hardly handle how wonderful Elias was to Olivia. AND his Healing letters written. 🫠🫠
I loved the overlying theme of how love knows no bounds. Thank you Michele for such a beautiful read!
Ms. Holmes knows how to write intrigue, adventure, grief and so forth into a romance story. Parts of this book, especially the beginning are nail biter level. And the story has twists and turns that I hadn't anticipated. This story mostly stands alone I think, but it is better to read the first one to really get a full understanding of what has happened prior and it all has a profound effect on what happens in this book. There is a lot that happens in the book and I don't want to give up spoilers so I'll just say that I enjoyed reading this but it does have some definite angst moments. It also has satisfying moments, and sweet romantic moments, horrifying moments, disappointing moments, and ALL THE MOMENTS. But by the end the reader can be satisfied with a sweet happily-ever-after and hope for the future.
One thing I'll add is that I really hope that their mother gets a chance at real love. The sisters found theirs. Let mom have it too....
Sex: marital intimacy closed door but the person in the room next door is aware of what is going on. The married couple are quite frisky. A lot of inuendo. Language: no Violence: yes
This is the ultimate family saga, and I would recommend reading the first book in the series (Love Unbound) before starting this one. Although some backstory is given, it is better to experience the full spectrum of details and situations to get a complete idea of everything.
This book starts with a continuation of Sophie’s and Graham’s story, as they had some unresolved issues, but then embraces Olivia’s journey, which is full of twists and turns, suspense, and a time to fulfill promises. Olivia was sent into hiding and had to make many sacrifices, and the pivot in her dreams left me feeling both sad and content.
Family can be complicated, and I really enjoyed Olivia’s path, as well as her character growth. Watching these two sisters together was a beautiful thing, especially in the midst of so much turmoil, heartache, and hardship. They emanated strength, determination, and hope, all encompassed in a beautiful story.
I loved revisiting this family and enjoyed the narration.
*I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given*
I was so happy to get more of the story on Sophie and Graham’s end. I didn’t expect to get so much more of their story but I am so thankful that we did. I loved them in this one just like I did in the first. The intertwining with Olivia’s story meshed so beautifully together.
I loved Olivia’s story. I don’t want to give away too much in my review. Olivia grew up knowing that she would probably stay in luxury and attend dinner parties. Her world is rudely turned upside down in this one. While she could have been spoiled and selfish with the outcome of things she instead showed resilience and strength even when it was hard. I couldn’t help but admire her.
I loved all the characters in this book. Elias was so incredibly patient and sweet. The letters that were included in this one were so touching and I liked getting some of Elias’s thoughts in them.
There is still the bit of mystery and action in this one and I was just greatly anticipating what was going to happen next. I am enjoying this series so much and can’t wait to see what happens in the next story.
CW: violence, mild language, closed door (kisses only, mild innuendo between married couples)
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is like reading several novellas involving the same characters, which is divided into three parts. Within these parts are stories of action, adventure, love, family, and caring about each other through joyous and difficult times.
My favorite section was the first one that involved Sophie and Graham. They, along with the help of family and friends, must outwit some powerful and wicked men. It was very exciting and page- turning to say the least.
The other two parts were slower paced and concentrated upon Olivia and Victoria, Sophia’s two sisters. I won’t share more because I don’t want to spoil anything for you as the reader. This is a book that is the in the Hearthfire Romance series. It is recommended that you read Love Unbound before beginning this book.
I received an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own with no obligation to write a positive review.
The Brief: Olivia and Sophie escaped their father’s machinations, but their futures are not what they anticipated. Amidst prejudices and danger their lives change dramatically and hope becomes elusive.
The Debrief: I would not read this out of order if you want to enjoy fully. Plus, you’ll want to know everything about Graham! Olivia’s growth was needed because she just had lots of growing up to do. And her journey was often hilarious as she left the comforts of London behind. SO many people needed love in this story and @michelepaigeholmes handled it with grace. The bad guys were flat out evil. Flat out. Evil. But the moments of peace and love shine through the dark times. The audio is definitely the way to go. Very well done by Grace Noble.
The Rhyme: Sophie and Graham’s story continues to be heartbreaking before they can have a happy ending. Will Olivia also be able to pivot and forge a new path or will the obstacles be unbending?
This is the 2nd book in this series, and it was just as good as the first. It could be read as a stand alone, but I would strongly suggest it as a sequel
3 sisters with different dreams and personalities have one common goal- get away from their dangerous, controlling, and abusive father. Luckily, their mother is on their side. Their plans are to leave the country, they know they won’t be safe from him or his ‘friends’ otherwise.
Their plans are in jeopardy, as are their lives. The action and surprises just keep coming. Their journey brings so much compassion, adjustment, friendship, love, and happiness. It is also full of danger, uncertainty, and a new way of life.
Love letters, sacrifice, learning, grad gestures, and love will keep you clicking that page turner as fast as your eyes can follow.
This is the sequel to Love Unbound, so don’t read out of order or it won’t make sense. It was a great conclusion to Sophie’s love story from book 1. There is danger and heartache, but ultimately redemption for her and Graham. But this book focused more on Olivia, Sophie’s youngest sister. She is 19 as the book opens, and has been in hiding throughout the last year. Now, she gets to finally live life again, and she is determined to keep her promise to her oldest sister, Victoria, before she died–to take care of her husband, who has escaped to America to get out of her evil father’s reach of influence. This book had lots of romance, heart-tugging, plot twists, tension, great characters, and a happy ending. It was a great sequel. I always enjoy this author's books because she does lots of character development that help me come to know and love the characters. Highly recommend!
Many of the loose ends from the last book are tied up in this one, but there are still issues that need to be resolved. Will there be a third book in the series? I sure hope so!
This book continues Graham and Sophia’s story, but then focuses on Sophia’s younger sister, Olivia, and her love story with Elias, a country doctor.
Olivia’s and Elias’ is a friends-to-lovers trope. Olivia falls for Elias pretty quickly but doesn’t express her interest because Elias is a widower and is still grieving his wife. Plus, Olivia is 13 years younger than he and is quite unthinkingly spontaneous on more than one occasion. Elias has interest in Olivia after they’ve known each other for a while, but feels guilt about being unfaithful to his dead wife.
Olivia and Elias eventually make it and begin their love story. It’s a sweet journey.
The whole book is a wonderful read full of true love, romance and family—I loved it!
Wow, this book filled so many must haves to make it a great read. Intrigue, drama, danger, adventure, sacrifice, faith, romance… I could just go on. The story continues following three sisters, Victoria, Sophie, and Olivia from book one,”Love Unbound”. I highly recommend reading book one before this one. It is just as spellbinding and intriguing. Typically book series will focus on one sibling or person per book. In this series you get a little bit from multiple characters that all ties together beautifully. This is a clean closed door historical romance with a little bit of spice and swoon. But really the storyline will keep you awake at night, not wanting to put the book down. I have not read any of this author’s books. I did not love.
Wow! The second book of the three sisters who face a world of challenges yet fight and conquer. There is love, laughter and peace found within the world. The author does an amazing job of creating life like characters and places them within compelling plots that keep me reading to see what happens next. I highly recommend reading both books although each can be read as a standalone. I would love to see a third in the series to continue the adventure of the sisters and their families. I received an ARC copy of the book and all opinions are my own.
It feels good to be back with Graham and Sophie in Love Undying, a continuation of Love Unbound. The first third of the book is wonderfully written. The story has riveting drama, tension and romance. I found the rest of the story a little slow and lacking in action (especially compared to the start of the book). I enjoyed the ending which is filled with such sweet sentiments and tender moments. I look forward to reading the next book.
There are a few scenes of marital intimacy. It is chaste and closed door.
Beautiful story! I love this series! These sisters are dynamic and so loving. It’s thrilling to watch them grow and overcome the many challenges they face. I love watching the family pull together to support one another. I want to give a shout out to Maime too. She is a secondary character with a quiet strength that adds even more depth to this story with many layers already. Even though there is a beautiful resolution to this story, I can see how the author left room for at least one more book in the series. I am hoping for more!
This story picks up immediately after Love Unbound so I highly recommend reading that book first. Sophie and Graham's story is filled with suspenseful twists and turns. When Livie and Sophies mother join the story, the suspense continues. Olivia gets her own wonderful romance once the group reaches America but the suspense doesn't end there. An epic tale with great characters and some wonderful life lessons taught. I highly recommend both books!
Olivia’s story, but with closure for Sophia and Graham (kind of?). I loved the theme Olivia being tired of ‘waiting for life to start’, so she decided to take action. But her impetuous decisions seem to get her in trouble sometimes. A great plot twist that I was 1000% cheering for.
I’ve been searching the internet for signs of book 3; because not all of the loose ends have been tied up. I swear I saw a book about Christmas at ________ somewhere!
The second book in the Hearthfire series, Love Undying follows the third sister Olivia and her desire to fulfill a promise made years ago but finds that life might have other plans. I thoughly enjoyed reading this book. I love that different personalities in the sisters and they very different adventures they have on their way to finding their life love. Read this book on a nice quite evening with a warm blanket and just run away with Olivia! Great Christian Romance
I was actually surprised by some of the events in the book. You should read the 1st book mostly because they are both so good. The only complaint is that I wanted it to keep going. Please make a 3rd book and kill off that dad so that the mom can find a match, we need a resolution with Sophie also. Great book, great read.
