All of the witches of Hollow Cove are being forced to submit to an evaluation by the Grey Council that is being referred to as the Witch Trials. When the board of witches starts determining the majority of witches should have their powers bound, pandemonium erupts. The main council member states she will return everyone's power if Tessa turns over her son. The town pretty much goes nuts because they are becoming powerless as their magical power is being slowly drained.

Trial by Spell was a great read—fast-paced, magical, and full of sharp twists! I couldn’t put it down and dove straight into the second book without hesitation. If you love strong heroines, clever worldbuilding, and a little chaos with your magic, this one delivers!

Witches on trial!

Such a great episode in the series. Both Tessa and Marcus are facing trials (of different kinds) and this book switches between their points of view.

Best to read the books in order to get the full benefit of this book, but you can read it as a stand-alone.

Fantastic as ALWAYS!

I just love this series and this book didn't disappoint. There's always something happening. It's not always a HEA ending but it's also not a cliffhanger that will drive you crazy to find out what happens. You will enjoy this book. Can be read alone, but I recommend starting from the beginning with Shadow Witch. The book goes into more detail about the town, people along with Marcus and Tessa's relationship.
