This is the book I wish I had when I started out 5 years ago. Authors, save yourself the questions and the wondering:
Is Bowker a legit site?
Do I need inside bleed?
Where can I get fonts that aren’t harboring viruses?
Ms. Bayne walks you through the design, export, and upload process with plenty of practical tips. This is a short read with the key elements, cautionary tales, and frequent pitfalls to avoid.
There are also links to templates and additional resources. Oh, and don’t forget the sweet dragon.
Anyone thinking about self-publishing should grab this one—you’ll thank me!

I get it!
Formatting for publishing is overwhelming - even for me, with a background in the printing industry. This straightforward and simple guide makes it seem easy! I loved the hints and highlights. The relationship between illustrator and author is also made easy. Preparing up front with this book will surely help so many authors.

I am an editor for children’s books, but I don’t know much about the publishing process. But the author, Becky Bayne, does. LUCKY YOU! This book is very comprehensive yet easy to follow. If you are considering self-publishing a children’s book, do yourself a favor and get this book. It will save you much time and frustration because your questions will be answered.
