Great introduction to Western art history, from Giotto to the present day. One or two plates per artist and a short biography. Information about the locations of these paintings would have been really useful for planning tours.

it's a good book. lots of information in there. I read it befor my trip to Paris. It feels really good when you know the story behind the paintings.
