'The eye sees not itself...but by some other things.'
Future and past collide in this story buried deep in the heart of the Amazonian jungle, eventually spreading out across the continent of South America and beyond. Follow the young narrator as he fights through small town politics, adverse weather conditions, and numerous animals, finding that a true adventure gives you nothing you expected, but everything you wanted.
J E Smith was born in Westlake Village, in what is now a demolished hospital. After spending his formative years in the West Riding of Yorkshire, he returned to California for his Bachelor's degree. After a quick jaunt back to England, he took up residency as an itinerant vegetable farmer, before being encouraged to develop sustainable agriculture in the third world. Feeling lost after his small jungle village fell into the river, he traveled north, finding succor in the world of commercial fishing in Alaska. He has since spent his time traveling, writing, and studying diesel engines in the Pacific Northwest.
