Rate this book
She’s being hunted.
She has to hide.
She can’t exist.

Given is relieved when Basil is placed into Janie’s care. Now he can keep her safe. Keep her protected. Keep her with him.

But Given also knows his world is lawless ~ filled with angry, untrusting, and desperate people that would do anything to survive.

Staying under the radar of them and the men in the pinstriped suits becomes more difficult when new memories surface, strange abilities emerge, and Basil’s sanity begins to waver.

In the heart-pounding conclusion to The Etched Tales, Given and Basil will discover their pasts are more entwined than they ever could have imagined, putting them in even greater danger.

Omg! What a great sequel to Etched! I loved learning more about the Conglomerate and where Basil and Given came from and whom they were intended to be. You’ll fly through this fast-paced novel. Britt leaves you guessing about what’s going to happen next! Bring on more Basil and Given!

I have read both Etched and Hushed about fifteen times and know the characters like the back of my hand... but every time I read this book I find something new. It’s a joy to read every single time and there will never be a time I don’t recommend The Etched Tales. If you read the first book you would definitely be wanting some answers. But I really liked how it wasn’t technically on a cliffhanger. The new cover is wonderful and fits the book really well! As far as characters go if someone won’t stop talking I will think of Given’s early morning response to chatter ‘Shh, spray can.’ Basil is also adorable! But everybody knows they are better together. (: Thanks Britt for writing this! I will appreciate it for many many years to come!

Fantastic!

So enjoyable! There were some grammar issues with a wrong or extra word at times, but the story was filled with such delightful plot twists and turns that I was able to semi ignore a misplaced word.
I will miss Basil & Given!

Britt Nunes is an author on the rise! Her writing is engaging and her characters are well developed and enchanting. This is the second book in a set and I'm only sad that the story had to end! This concludes Basil and Given's stories. The supporting characters are still just as well written. This book explains everything and blows the readers mind! The tale, and the world it's set in, is so in depth that it's easy to get lost in and forget that you're reading a book! There is action, suspense, mystery, and still a sweet romance that will make your heart melt. I recommend The Etched Tales (as they are called together, Etched and Hushed) to all of my friends. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down!

This was such a good conclusion to a FANTASTIC dystopian series. I love all of the characters and, even though this one was less mysterious and gripping, I still had so much fun reading it. I totally recommend this series to anyone who likes post apocalyptic survival/family drama type stories. This was a totally unique series which, in my opinion, would make the BEST tv show!

The second installment of Nunes's Etched Tales Series builds a balanced complexity off of the first novel. You care more deeply for each character, and the stakes feel higher as the story progresses. This book begins with a slower pace, but then amps up to become the most action-packed of the series. The twists and turns draw you in and hold your attention throughout. The chapters are a bit shorter, which makes them more digestible since the book is telling the same story, but from the point of view of the two main characters respectively. This makes the story even more rich and multifaceted. The ending ties everything together in such a cohesive and heartfelt manner, while still leaving several points open for further inquiry. I absolutely enjoyed reading this stellar book from start to finish. If you enjoyed the first installment of the Etched Tales, then I highly recommend this one!

Another good book by Britt Nunes and an exciting conclusion to this tale. A quite satisfying read. There is nothing in this book that parents need to worry about and adult readers will not find it beneath them. The theming is good, the story is well thought out and the characters are likeable. The world the characters are in is interesting as much as it is absorbing and dangerous. Try this read for yourself.
