Two wounded people struggle with love and trust in this contemporary romance set during the Christmas holidays.
"Santa, my friends say you're just a story, like my dad."
Trish's heart aches when she reads the note from her five-year-old son. She needs a man, but only to play Santa for Tyler. Widowed for several years, she's not quite over the scars left by her dishonest husband, although having someone to rely on is tempting. So is Sam Carrow, but she refuses to fall for an unambitious man. Not again.
Sam, a wealthy contractor, doesn't want a relationship either. Recently burned by his ex, who had her eye on the top of the corporate ladder, he lets Trish think he's poor and out of work to keep her at arm's length. When she and her son invade his heart, he has to 'fess up and win her over. Will Trish be able to overlook his dishonesty?
To top it off, Trish's former mother-in-law is enacting her own family drama. She views raising Tyler as an ideal way to reinvent the past. She just has to oust Trish from the picture.
When things look their gloomiest, it doesn't hurt to have Santa on your side.
Megan Kelly read her first Harlequin Romance as a teenager and became an avid romance reader. She dreamed of writing those exciting and moving stories she loved. She sold to Harlequin American Romance in 2007 and published four books with them before venturing into self-publishing.
THE WEDDING RESCUE is the first book in the Love in Little Tree series, followed by RUNAWAY BRIDE, BABY MAKES THREE, and a novella, Ghost of a Chance.
SANTA DEAR and HOLLY & IVEY make up the Christmas in Stilton series. (So far.)

As the author of this book, I don't feel it right to review or rate it. But personally, I think it's terrific and would have given it at least four stars. Okay, five. LOL
Trish Howell lost her husband four years ago leaving behind their son Tyler for her to raise alone. But Duke's parent, Jock & Miriam have been very critical of the way Trish is handling the upbringing of Tyler and how they never see or hear from them anymore. Miriam has always been a drama queen since her son's death and is always pushing Trish to let her see Tyler whenever and wherever she wants. A good friend of Miriam's had won custody rights over her grandchild and Trish fears Miriam is thinking along the same wavelengths. Now as it's nearing Xmas, Trish needs someone to play Santa for her five year old son on Xmas Even so her best friend Jenny volunteers her husband's best friend Sam Carrow. But Trish is suspicious that she is being set up by Jenny playing matchmaker.
When Trish and Sam meet there is a definite electricity between them, but both have reservations to start up any kind of relationship since their past romances were not at all what either wanted. They most definitely didn't want to start something that would end badly and ultimately hurt little Tyler. But each time they are near one another, the overwhelming urge to be with one another is almost too much for them to bear! Now with Miriam watching their every move, Trish is torn to protect her son from the threat of losing him and keep Sam at a safe distance away from them forever!
Santa Dear by Megan Kelly is a fun read, perfect for the Christmas season. Ms Kelly has given us a well-written book. Her characters fit the story perfectly, A+ to Ms Kelly for her awesome characters. Trish and Sam's story is an entertaining read that had me going from laughter to growling. There's plenty of drama, humor and spice to keep the pages turning in this book. I enjoyed reading Santa Dear and would happily read more from Megan Kelly in the future. Santa Dear is book 1 of the Christmas In Stilton Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I purchased a print copy of this book at a book signing.
Just because the Season is past, don't think you should forego Santa Dear. Megan Kelly writes an uplifting story that will give you the holiday spirit any time of the year.
While the initial conflict involves heroine Trish seeking a Santa impersonator to bolster her son's flickering faith, and the book is set at Christmas time, the heart of the romance deals with themes of trust and letting go of the past, appropriate all year through. Hero Sam is delicious and secretly rich, but also earthy and "handy" just what every busy widow needs around the house. Secondary characters are well drawn and instrumental in the plot, not just sounding boards for the main characters. The writing is well-paced and the dialogue realistic. I promise you will enjoy spending a few hours with Trish and Sam
