To whoever went through such a trauma :
Its not easy to trust anyone after going through such experience , you may blame yourself , and it may even be stuck in your memory till the day you took your last breath, because time might never heal , however, there's ppl out there who still love you and will love unconditionally, who will accept you the way you are , and lastly its not your fault and its never was , so dont blame yourself for it .

The story is so sad and horrible, but I didn't really like the style of writing in this book.

This is a horrific and important story, and I want to be very clear about that first.

What Toni Maguire went through is unimaginable, and her survival deserves nothing but respect. This book documents abuse that should never happen to anyone, and her willingness to tell her story matters.

That said, I personally struggled with the way this book was written. The narrative felt very slow and restrained, which created emotional distance for me as a reader.

The story itself is devastating, but the pacing and structure made it harder for me to stay emotionally engaged.

This is absolutely not a reflection on the importance of Toni Maguire’s story, only on how the writing style worked for me personally.

The writing was very immature and it was tough to read at first due to the graphic nature of the story in itself. It took me a lot to muster the will to make it through the first 20 pages to be honest. Not because it wasn’t good it’s just hard to get through some of the details. I’m glad that I did however. It must have been a huge weight off this woman’s shoulders and must have had some seriously therapeutic affects. God bless her and may Jared get everything he deserves.

I mean, what can i say other than this broke my heart.
As difficult as it is to read about, this happened and does happen.
I can only hope it helps people who have suffered to speak out.

A reminder that our childhood maybe wasn’t as bad as we thought it was.
Well written.

Not the best of books, had a very upsetting story behind it. Yet I struggled to finish reading it, felt almost like it dragged on and I was not able to connect to the character. Not my type of book.
