It is one of the most disappointing moments of Australian rock n roll folklore! The success of the London recording of choice cuts ( still one of the best albums of that era ) prompted and aroused international interest in the masters apprentices .
Poised for success they were offered a recording contract with bronze records with an advance of 90000 pounds .
Bass player and manager Glenn Wheatley put the ultimatum to EMI ‘s australia manager ( a former fridge salesman) match the advance or release the band from the contract ? He did neither sending the band a thousand Aussie pesos .
It was the catalyst for the bands ending .
Jim tells it all here , honestly and without ego interruptions . A bunch of wild boys of rock with a fantastic legacy of great material.the masters were a fantastic band .
Jim’s no longer with us . His masters voice is his statement of fact , the screaming girls acid trips and a band coming of age and maturity only to be thwarted at the finishing post .
